Oxaliplatin (OXA), a platinum-based chemotherapeutic agent, remains a mainstay in first-line treatments for advanced colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the eventual development of OXA resistance represents a significant clinical challenge. In the present study, we demonstrate that the aldo-keto reductase 1C1 (AKR1C1) is overexpressed in CRC cells upon acquisition of OXA resistance, evident in OXA-resistant CRC cell lines.

Background: The conversion of primary bile acids to secondary bile acids by the gut microbiota has been implicated in colonic inflammation. This study investigated the role of gut microbiota related bile acid metabolism in colonic inflammation in both patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and a murine model of dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis.
Methods: Bile acids in fecal samples from patients with IBD and DSS-induced colitis mice, with and without antibiotic treatment, were analyzed using ultraperformance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS).

Deep Convolutional Neural Networks scheme combined with a short-time Fourier transform algorithm was trained to perform an accurate diagnosis of BOO and DUA, utilizing five-channel urodynamic data (consisting of uroflowmetry, urine volume, intravesical pressure, abdominal pressure, and detrusor pressure).

Purpose: To investigate the molecular epidemiology and risk factors of carbapenem-resistant (CRKP) infection.
Patients And Methods: Patient's clinical data and CRKP strains were collected from November 2017 to December 2018 at a tertiary hospital in Wuhan, China. The antimicrobial susceptibilities, carbapenem-resistant genes, multi-locus sequence typing (MLST), homologous analysis, and risk factors for CRKP were determined.
Respiratory diseases pose a significant global health burden, with challenges in early and accurate diagnosis due to overlapping clinical symptoms, which often leads to misdiagnosis or delayed treatment. To address this issue, we developed , an artificial intelligence (AI)-based diagnostic system that utilizes natural language processing (NLP) to extract key clinical features from electronic health records (EHRs) for the accurate classification of respiratory diseases. This study employed a large cohort of 31,267 EHRs from multiple centers for model training and internal testing.
