In the post-pandemic era, research on respiratory diseases should refocus on pathogens other than the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Respiratory pathogens, highly infectious to children, with to different modes of infection, such as single-pathogen infections and co-infections. Understanding the seasonal patterns of these pathogens, alongside identifying single infections and co-infections and their impact on the pediatric immune status, is crucial for clinical diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis in children.

The gut microbiota (GM) can affect the immune system, which can lead to a variety of diseases, as confirmed by many studies. However, the exact mechanism by which GM affects kidney stone incidence through the immune system remains unclear. This study used a two-step, two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis by inverse variance weighting (IVW) method as well as Bayesian weighting (BWMR) to find out how the gut microbiota and inflammatory cytokines contribute to kidney stones, followed by a mediated MR analysis to exploreHow inflammatory cytokines are involved in the connection with the gut microbiota and kidney stones.

Prolactinomas are commonly treated with dopamine receptor agonists (DAs), such as bromocriptine (BRC) and cabergoline (CAB). However, 10-30% of patients exhibit resistance to DA therapies. DA resistance is largely associated with reduced dopamine D2 receptor (DRD2) expression, potentially regulated by epigenetic modifications, though the underlying mechanisms are still unclear.

Olanzapine-induced fatty liver disease continues to pose vital therapeutic challenges in the treatment of psychiatric disorders. In addition, we observed that some patients were less prone to hepatic steatosis induced by olanzapine. Therefore, we aimed to investigate the role and the underlying mechanism of the intestinal flora in olanzapine-mediated hepatic side effects and explore the possible countermeasures.

Strong associations have been demonstrated between chronic musculoskeletal pain, pain-related fear-avoidance (FA) of activities of daily living, and functional disability. The Fear Avoidance Components Scale (FACS) is a patient-reported outcome (PRO) measure, which was designed to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioural dimensions of FA. The study aims were to translate the English version of the FACS into Simplified Chinese and then to examine its psychometric properties.

Background: In the face of a global nursing shortage, nursing interns are crucial to sustaining the healthcare workforce. However, these interns encounter significant challenges in career decision-making, often exacerbated by the impostor phenomenon, which impedes their capacity to make informed choices. Despite its importance, little research has been reported on the specific conditions and contributing factors that affect nursing interns' career decision-making processes.

Infections caused by coronaviruses are persistent threats to human health in recent decades, necessitating the development of innovative anti-coronaviral therapies. RNA interference (RNAi) is a conserved cell-intrinsic antiviral mechanism in diverse eukaryotic organisms, including mammals. To counteract, many viruses encode viral suppressors of RNAi (VSRs) to evade antiviral RNAi, implying that targeting VSRs could be a promising strategy to develop antiviral therapies.

Skin and hair are the outermost interfaces between the human body and the external environment with many microorganisms distributed. These body surface microorganisms have individual specificity and spatial temporal stability and can be transferred to the surface of other objects through contact, and can be easily found at the crime scene, which helps to construct the connection between the suspect and the crime scene. When the sample is degraded or the DNA quantity is too low to obtain sufficient human DNA evidence, the highly amplified copies of body surface microbiome analysis can be used as an adjunct to human DNA typing without affecting DNA extraction and typing, and provide useful information for narrowing the range of suspects.

The pathogenesis of sepsis-induced Acute lung injury (ALI) progresses rapidly, and no effective treatment drugs are known, resulting in a high mortality rate. NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome activation plays an important role in the pathological progression of ALI, and often coincide with the inflammatory activation and polarization of macrophages. NLR family CARD domain-containing protein 3 (NOD3) was reported protecting against sepsis-induced pulmonary pathological injury and inhibiting the inflammatory response in lung tissue.

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a clonal hematopoietic stem cell malignancy and the only curable therapy is allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). However, allo-HSCT is not appropriate for all CMML patients, and relapse is the leading cause of treatment failure. This project conducted a nationwide multicenter real-world study to develop a novel prediction scoring system for early relapse.

Background: The World Health Organization has set a global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer, emphasizing the need for cervical cancer screening coverage to reach 70%. In response, China has developed an action plan to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer, with Hubei province implementing China's first provincial full-coverage screening program using an artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud-based diagnostic system.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the performance of AI technology in this full-coverage screening program.

Background And Objectives: The high costs associated with biological agents often limit accessibility for many patients, whereas biosimilars allow the wider application of biological treatment. The objectives of this phase I clinical trial were to compare the pharmacokinetics, immunogenicity, and safety profiles of the biosimilar adalimumab-WIBP and the reference product Humira and to assess the precision of the bioequivalence evaluation.
Methods: In this randomized, double-blind, parallel-group bioequivalence study, 164 healthy male Chinese participants were selected and randomly divided into two groups on a 1:1 ratio.

Backgrounds And Aims: Our previous study (CCCG-BNHL-2015) reported the treatment strategies and outcomes of pediatric B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHL) in China which showed that children in low-risk groups already have a dramatically favorable prognosis. However, for high-risk groups, the prognosis still needs to be improved. In this study, we aimed to identify the factors influencing prognosis in high-risk groups (stage III and stage IV).

Background And Aim: Hepatic fibrosis is a common outcome of chronic liver injury and can eventually lead to cirrhosis, which is a major public health concern. Hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) are the major producers of extracellular matrix (ECM) and regulate the synthesis and decomposition of ECM, but the specific mechanism of them remains unclear. Transient receptor potential channel 6 (TRPC6), a non-selective cation channel, plays an important role in organic fibrosis.

Background: Bone metastasis (BoM) is a prevalent occurrence in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), significantly impacting prognosis and diminishing both survival rates and patients' quality of life. More and more studies have demonstrated that immunotherapy can improve the prognosis of NSCLC patients with bone metastases. Previous investigations pertaining to BoM in NSCLC have generally suffered from small sample sizes, absence of propensity score matching (PSM) to equate baseline characteristics, and an omission of the examination of patterns of treatment failure.
