Insulinoma with six islet cell tumors associated with severe hypoglycemia.

A 43-year-old woman was admitted to hospital due to loss of consciousness. Her fasting plasma glucose and serum immunoreactive insulin levels were 14 mg/dL and 5 microU/mL, respectively. She needed continuous glucose infusion to avoid hypoglycemia.
