Objectives: GCA is a granulomatous vasculitis affecting large vessels, leading to intimal occlusion accompanied by the accumulation of myofibroblasts. Histopathologically, GCA is characterized by destruction of the tunica media and hypertrophy of the intima with invasion of activated CD4+ T cells, macrophages and multinucleated giant cells (MNGCs). Despite these well-defined histopathological features, the molecular pathology of GCA has largely remained elusive.

We describe the case of a 66-year-old man with an anastomotic fistula after rectal surgery, which was treated colonoscopically using polyglycolic acid sheets and fibrin glue. Polyglycolic acid sheets and fibrin glue have been used in thoracic surgery and otolaryngology to reinforce sutures and prevent air leakage. There have been recent reports of their use in endoscopic surgery for the closure of intraoperative perforations after endoscopic submucosal dissection and for fistula closure after upper gastrointestinal tract surgery.

However, the association of social factors, including social isolation and loneliness, with this condition remains unclear. This study examined the cross-sectional association of social isolation and loneliness with chronic low back pain among older adults.

Schnitzler syndrome (SchS) is a rare, acquired, autoinflammatory disease that is sometimes associated with a fever of unknown origin (FUO). Elevated alkaline phosphatase (ALP) stemming from abnormal bone remodeling is a characteristic laboratory finding of SchS and is included in the diagnostic criteria. However, its utility as a clue to the diagnosis of SchS has been under-emphasized.
