There is a scarcity of data on clinical outcomes after intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with multivessel disease and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The OPTIVUS-Complex PCI study multivessel cohort was a prospective multicenter single-arm trial enrolling 1015 patients who underwent multivessel IVUS-guided PCI including left anterior descending coronary artery target with an intention to meet the prespecified OPTIVUS criteria for optimal stent expansion. We compared the clinical outcomes between patients with and without CKD.

Lactation anaphylaxis is extremely rare and has been scarcely reported in the literature. Breast feeding and/or milk expression immediately induces life-threatening anaphylactic reactions, including generalized urticaria, angioedema, respiratory symptoms, and hypotension. Six English-language case reports have described the clinical course in detail.

Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common type of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, although it has many clinicopathological variants. Zosteriform MF is an extremely rare variant characterized by dermatomal distribution. To date, only six patients with zosteriform MF have been reported.

Objective: This study assessed the real-world safety and efficacy of coil embolization during endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) for prophylactic endoleak prevention or as a reintervention for endoleak repair, using the Cerenovus family of coils (Cerenovus, Irvine, CA, USA).
Methods: This was a multicenter, retrospective cohort study of consecutive patients who underwent embolization of branching arteries during EVAR of an AAA or as a reintervention for endoleak repair, using Cerenovus coils between January 2017 and December 2021 in Japan. The primary outcome was 30-day reintervention-free survival, defined as cardiovascular mortality or any complication requiring reintervention within 30 days post procedure.

Background: Most coronary artery aneurysms (CAAs) are clinically asymptomatic and are only detected incidentally during cardiac imaging. However, CAAs can cause fatal complications such as cardiac tamponade following a rupture. Reports of contained ruptures of CAAs are limited.

Background: PCI for aorto-ostial CTO remains challenging. The techniques for guidewire in aorto-ostial CTO may differ from those used in non-aorto-ostial CTOs, influenced by clinical and angiographic characteristics.
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the technical aspects and outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with aorto-ostial chronic total occlusion (CTO).

Objective: To investigate skeletal muscle indices influencing the anaerobic threshold (AT) measured by cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX).
Methods: This study included 125 consecutive men (median age: 66.0 years) diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction who underwent CPX before discharge.

The proportion of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis involving the straight sinus (StS) is low, and the prognosis is poor. We report a case of multiple sinus thrombosis involving StS in which the patient underwent mechanical thrombectomy (MT) using a stent retriever and an aspiration catheter (combined MT) with a good postoperative course. A 15-year-old girl was admitted to our hospital with rapid loss of consciousness.

Background/aim: Maintaining liver function throughout the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is crucial, yet the impact of durvalumab plus tremelimumab (DT) treatment on liver function is not well understood. This multicenter study aimed to examine the changes in liver function during DT treatment.
Patients And Methods: This nationwide multicenter study included 80 patients who received DT treatment for unresectable HCC.

ApoA-I amyloidosis is an extremely rare form of systemic amyloidosis that commonly involves the heart, kidneys, and liver. ApoA-I amyloidosis is caused by amyloidogenic variants of APOA1 that are inherited in an autosomal dominant manner. Here, we report a 69-year-old man with sporadic cardiac amyloidosis who was born to consanguineous parents and carried a homozygous variant of p.

Background: Acute subdural hematoma (ASDH) is a life-threatening condition, and hematoma removal is necessary as a lifesaving procedure when the intracranial pressure is highly elevated. However, whether decompressive craniectomy (DC) or conventional craniotomy (CC) is adequate remains unclear. Hinge craniotomy (HC) is a technique that provides expansion potential for decompression while retaining the bone flap.

CapeOX is a regimen used as postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy for the treatment of advanced recurrent colorectal cancer. If early adverse events occur, treatment may not progress as planned and further dose reduction may be necessary. In this study, we investigated whether pre-treatment medical records could be used to predict adverse events in order to prevent adverse events caused by CapeOX treatment.

Background: Despite the effectiveness of the retrograde approach for chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions, there are no standardized tools to predict the success of retrograde percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Objectives: The aim of this study was to develop a prediction tool to identify CTO lesions that will achieve successful retrograde PCI.
Methods: This study evaluated data from 2,374 patients who underwent primary retrograde CTO-PCI and were enrolled in the Japanese CTO-PCI Expert Registry between January 2016 and December 2022 (NCT01889459).

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose a modified Patte classification system for tendon retraction, including the cut-off points for predicting reparability and rotator cuff healing after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR) and assess its prediction accuracy and measurement reliability.
Methods: This retrospective study included 463 consecutive patients scheduled to undergo ARCR for full-thickness supraspinatus tears. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to determine the cut-off points for predicting reparability and tendon healing.

We report a 48-year-old woman with bullous pemphigoid (BP) with antibodies against the B3 subunit of laminin 332 after the development of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). She was diagnosed with recurrent acute lymphoblastic leukemia at 40 years of age and underwent two rounds of allogeneic peripheral blood stem cell transplantations (PBST). Two and a half years after the second PBST, multiple tense blisters appeared on her face, hands, and lower legs.
