Endovascular Repair of Iliac Aneurysms Using the Gore Iliac Branch Endoprosthesis with Up-and-Over Technique.

The Gore iliac branch endoprosthesis (IBE) enables internal iliac artery (IIA) reconstruction, extending the indications of endovascular aneurysmal repair (EVAR); however, the up-and-over technique is challenging. This study aimed to clarify the advantages and procedural limitations of the up-and-over technique. From January 2019 to October 2022, 22 patients who underwent IIA reconstruction with Gore IBE were enrolled.

Human papillomavirus vaccine impact on invasive cervical cancer in Japan: Preliminary results from cancer statistics and the MINT study.

The first prophylactic vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV) 16 and HPV18 was licensed in Japan in 2009. HPV vaccine effectiveness against high-grade cervical lesions has been demonstrated among young Japanese women, but evidence of its effects on invasive cervical cancer (ICC) is lacking. Using data from two different cancer registries, we compared recent trends of new ICC cases by age group using Poisson regression analysis.

P2X Receptor Deficiency in Mouse Vestibular End Organs Attenuates Vestibular Function.

P2X receptors are ligand-gated cation channels activated by extracellular ATP that modulate neural transmission in various neuronal systems. Although the function and distribution of P2X receptors in the cochlea portion of the inner ear are well established, their physiological role in the vestibular portion is still not understood. Therefore, we investigated P2X receptor localization in the peripheral vestibular portion, and assessed their physiological function in vivo using P2X receptor knock out (P2X-KO) mice.
