In this study, a targeted graphene quantum dot-cationic polymer composite gene vector with endothelial cell-targeting CAG peptide was successfully designed and prepared. This vector could efficiently bind and deliver the therapeutic gene pZNF580 to endothelial cells (HUVECs). At a concentration of less than 40 μg mL, the results of the CCK-8 assay showed that the relative cell viability of each composite gene vector was greater than 80%, and the results of the flow cytometry assay showed that C-GQDs-PEI-PEG-CAG/pZNF580 (88.

Alkali metal-air batteries (AMABs) promise ultrahigh gravimetric energy densities, while the inherent poor cycle stability hinders their practical application. To address this challenge, most previous efforts are devoted to advancing the air cathodes with high electrocatalytic activity. Recent studies have underlined the solid-liquid-gas triple-phase interface around the anode can play far more significant roles than previously acknowledged by the scientific community.

Background: Eczema is a common chronic relapsing inflammatory skin disease, which is characterized by intense itching. Acupuncture can be effective for eczema, and it is thus regarded as a common complementary treatment.
Objective: The intention of this overview is to methodically appraise and synthesize evidence about systematic reviews/meta-analyses (SRs/MAs) on acupuncture in eczema.

The applications of clove (Syzygium aromaticum) essential oil (CEO) are limited by instability, low solubility and high volatility. The present study aimed to improve the properties of CEO by microencapsulation with cyclodextrin metal organic frameworks (β-CD-MOFs) to enhance the preservation effects on Chinese bacon (preserved meat products). The microencapsulated CEO by β-CD-MOFs (CEO/β-CD-MOFs) not only did not inhibit the antioxidant activities of CEO, but also showed significant improvements on their ROS scavenging abilities and thermo-/pH-stabilities.

Among the existing active brain-computer interfaces (BCI), the motor imagination (MI) is widely used. To operate the MI BCI effectively, subjects need to carry out trainings on corresponding imagining tasks. Here, we studied how to reduce the discomfort and fatigue of active BCI imaginary tasks and the inability to concentrate on them while improving the accuracy.

We aimed to develop a novel method for assessing the bitterness of azithromycin-containing reverse micelles (AM-containing RMs). Azithromycin-containing reverse micelles were prepared by processing Lipoid E80 and medium chain triglycerides via a freeze-drying method. The bitterness threshold of azithromycin was determined by human taste test, and an equation was derived to correlate the azithromycin concentrations and bitterness scores of standard solutions.
