Individuals with motor dysfunction caused by damage to the central nervous system are unable to transmit voluntary movement commands to their muscles, resulting in a reduced ability to control their limbs. However, traditional rehabilitation methods have problems such as long treatment cycles and high labor costs. Functional electrical stimulation (FES) based on brain-computer interface (BCI) connects the patient's intentions with muscle contraction, and helps to promote the reconstruction of nerve function by recognizing nerve signals and stimulating the moving muscle group with electrical impulses to produce muscle convulsions or limb movements.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a debilitating mental health condition that poses significant risks and burdens. Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) has emerged as a promising tool in investigating the neural mechanisms underlying MDD. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of resting-state fMRI in MDD is currently lacking.

Skin is susceptible to premature aging in response to ultraviolet (UV) radiation-induced oxidative stress, which can ultimately result in aberrant aging or age-related disorders. Accordingly, strategies that can be adopted to mitigate oxidative stress may contribute to protecting skin from induced aging-related damage, thereby offering promising approaches for the treatment of skin diseases and disorders. In this regard, oroxylin A (OA), a natural flavonoid isolated from certain plants used in traditional Chinese medicine, is considered to have notable antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-apoptotic properties, and is often used to treat certain inflammatory diseases.

Intramolecular-tailored graphite carbon nitride (g-CN) has great potential to greatly optimize the photo-response performance and carrier separation ability, but exquisite molecular structure engineering is still challenging. Firstly, a series of oxygen and terminal methyl moiety co-modified g-CN (CNNx) has been systematically prepared by using N-Hydroxysuccinimide (HOSu) as a novel copolymerized precursor and urea. The density functional theory (DFT) calculations demonstrated that the presence of oxygen can lower the binding energy for the C-C bond to make the terminal modification easier.

Background: We aimed to investigate the effects of aerobic-anaerobic exercise on social avoidance, positive and negative emotions, and self-awareness in obese women as well as provide some basis for guiding them to increase their physical exercise and promote physical and mental health.
Methods: Sixty obese women (body mass index≥23 kg/m) who volunteered to participate in the experiment were selected in Tianjin, China in 2022, and divided into control group and observation group with 30 people in each group. The control group received normal physical training, whereas the observation group received a uniform diet and an aerobic-anaerobic exercise intervention based on normal physical training that lasted for 12 weeks.

Excessive use of fossil fuels leads to energy shortages and environmental pollution, threatening human health and social development. As a clean, green, and sustainable technology, generation of renewable energy from solar light through photocatalysis has received increasing attention to cope with the impending energy and environmental crisis. The atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors with large surface area and abundant low-coordinate surface atoms prove to exhibit enormous potential to attain efficient photocatalytic performance.

In principle, porous physisorbents are attractive candidates for the removal of volatile organic compounds such as benzene by virtue of their low energy for the capture and release of this pollutant. Unfortunately, many physisorbents exhibit weak sorbate-sorbent interactions, resulting in poor selectivity and low uptake when volatile organic compounds are present at trace concentrations. Herein, we report that a family of double-walled metal-dipyrazolate frameworks, BUT-53 to BUT-58, exhibit benzene uptakes at 298 K of 2.

This study explores the influence of colour combinations on legibility and aesthetic feelings for the currently popular negative polarity interface design. Legibility was measured in two different ways in two tasks: time threshold (Task I) and a 9-point subjective rating (Task II). In Task I, we combined an adaptive program to measure 37 participants' recognition thresholds and online pseudo-word recognition tasks; in Task II, 44 participants' subjective preferences were measured using a scale.

This review paper systematically evaluates current progress on the development and performance of photocatalytic nanofiber membranes often used in the removal of micropollutants from water systems. It is demonstrated that nanofiber membranes serve as excellent support materials for photocatalytic nanoparticles, leading to nanofiber membranes with enhanced optical properties, as well as improved recovery, recyclability, and reusability. The tremendous performance of photocatalytic membranes is attributed to the photogenerated reactive oxygen species such as hydroxyl radicals, singlet oxygen, and superoxide anion radicals introduced by catalytic nanoparticles such as TiO and ZnO upon light irradiation.

Microbial conversion of methane to electricity, fuels, and liquid chemicals has attracted much attention. However, due to the low solubility of methane, it is not considered a suitable substrate for microbial fuel cells (MFCs). In this study, a conductive fiber membrane (CFM) module was constructed as the bioanode of methane-driven MFCs, directly delivering methane.

Highly efficient extraction of radioactive uranium from aqueous solution remains a serious task in the nuclear energy field. To address this, we here create an effective uranium ion trap by using a novel and facile strategy that introduces bioinspired moiety phytic acid (PA) into highly robust PCN-222. The resultant metal-organic framework (MOF)-based uranium ion trap (PCN-222-PA) with a high density of accessible phosphate groups exhibits a remarkable U(VI) uptake capacity (401.

The design of flexible wearable electronic devices that can shield electromagnetic waves and work in all weather conditions remains a challenge. We present in this work a low-cost technology to prepare an ultra-thin carbon fabric-graphene (CFG) composite film with outstanding electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) and electro-photo-thermal effect. The compatibility between flexible carbon fabric skeleton and brittle pure graphene matrix empowers this CFG film with adequate flexibility.

Background: In recent years, several tracker systems have been developed to monitor a 3-dimensional skull position for facial action whereas, various tracker systems simultaneously analyze the single sequence of video, which can be provided with low-quality cameras and less security. Initially, implementing a 2-D face detector and an unrepentance system has been suggested; furthermore, it has been improved using an integrated 3-D face initialized scheme for the real-time tracker in the present face recognition systems.
Objectives: To overcome the present setbacks of the conventional systems, Face Pose Detection assisted controlled FACE++ tool position of Three-Dimensional Robot (FPLF3D) has been proposed in this article.

Antimony (Sb) has been regarded as one of the most promising anode materials for both lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) and attracted much attention in recent years. Alleviating the volumetric effect of Sb during charge and discharge processes is the key point to promote Sb-based anodes to practical applications. Carbon dioxide (CO) activation is applied to improve the rate performance of the Sb/C nanohybrid anodes caused by the limited diffusion of Li/Na ions in excessive carbon components.
