Article Synopsis
  • This study investigated the effectiveness and safety of anlotinib as a treatment for small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients who also had brain metastases (BM), showing a poor prognosis.
  • An analysis of the ALTER1202 trial revealed that patients treated with anlotinib had significantly improved progression-free survival (3.8 months) and overall survival (6.1 months) compared to those receiving a placebo.

Multidrug resistance is a phenomenon that cancer cells develop a cross-resistant phenotype against several unrelated drugs, and permeability glycoprotein derived from the overexpression of multidrug resistance gene 1 has been taken as the most significant cause of multidrug resistance. In the present study, ginsenoside Rh2 was used to reverse permeability glycoprotein-mediated multidrug resistance of MCF-7/ADM cell line. Effects of ginsenoside Rh2 on the apoptotic process and caspase-3 activity of MCF-7 and MCF-7/ADM cell lines were determined using flow cytometry and microplate reader.

Objective: The present study was conducted to elucidate the prognostic prediction value of the expression of the protein inhibitor of activated signal transducer and activators of transcription 3 (PIAS3) in gastric cancer (GC).

Methods: We detected the expression of PIAS3 in GC tissue, adjacent non-tumor tissue, GC cell lines, and GES-1 cell line. Besides, both clinicopathological data and follow-up records were obtained for patients' survival analyses.

Inhibitors of apoptosis (IAPs) limit the effectiveness of radiation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Debio 1143 (D1143) is an antagonist of IAPs. The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential of D1143 as a radiosensitizer in NSCLC.
