Introduction: To determine whether severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection affects corneal morphology and optical quality.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, ophthalmological indicators were examined during the peak of SARS-CoV-2 infection after adjusting for public health control measures. Participants were divided into control (remained uninfected), A (infected during follow-up), and B (infected prior to the first consultation) groups.

Topic: Development of evidence-based guidelines for keratorefractive lenticule extraction (KLEx).
Clinical Relevance: KLEx refers to various corneal refractive procedures involving removal of refractive lenticules of intrastromal corneal tissue, typically through a small incision, thereby eliminating creation of a corneal flap. This technique has rapidly gained popularity as a possible alternative to flap-based procedures; however, no clinical practice guidelines exist for KLEx.

This study aimed to describe a novel sandwich technique of minimally invasive surgical implantation by using corneal stromal lenticules for corneal perforation. This prospective observational study included nine patients aged 23-79 years (mean, 54 ± 9) from Tianjin Eye Hospital. Corneal stromal lenticules with a central thickness of 120 μm were obtained from small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE).

Purpose: To explore the potential role of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) and its regulatory factors in corneal fibrosis response using both in vivo and in vitro models.
Methods: This study utilized the C57BL/6 mouse corneal alkali burn as an in vivo model and stimulated keratocytes with transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1) in vitro. Small interfering RNA (siRNA) was employed to downregulate the expression of YTH domain family member 2 (YTHDF2), methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3), and fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO) in keratocytes.

Purpose: To evaluate the surveillance value of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for detecting distant metastasis and indicating systemic therapeutic efficacy in conjunctival melanoma (CoM).
Design: Retrospective, observational case series.
Methods: From July 2021 to June 2023, 30 CoM patients in our center underwent plasma ctDNA assessment, out of which 12 individuals presented with distant metastases.

Objective: This study investigated the role of latent-transforming growth factor β-binding protein 2 (LTBP-2) in primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) by analysing its expression and the ultrastructure of the anterior lens capsule in PACG patients with age-related cataract (ARC).
Methods: Tissue samples of the anterior lens capsule were collected from patients undergoing cataract phacoemulsification surgery. Patients in the experimental group were diagnosed with primary angle-closure (PAC) combined with ARC (PAC+ARC) and PACG combined with ARC (PACG+ARC).
Purpose: To introduce a modified Hughes procedure for the repair of large full-thickness defects of the lower eyelid.
Methods: This retrospective study included 56 patients: 30 in the conventional group treated with a Hughes flap and 26 in the modified group treated with a full-thickness upper eyelid flap pedicled with levator aponeurosis, Muller muscle and conjunctiva. The reconstruction time, period of pedicle division and complication rates were evaluated.

Methods: Patients with non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy, with or without macular edema were recruited. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) MAs-related parameters were observed, including the maximum diameter of overall dimensions, material presence, and flow signal within the lumen.
