To observe in-hospital and 1-year prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction after one year of coronary stent implantation. From January 2015 to February 2018, 329 patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) after 1 year of coronary artery stent implantation were enrolled and received coronary angiography. These patients were divided into two groups (very late stent thrombosis (VLST) group and denovo group) according to whether the occurrence of acute myocardial infarction was due to stent thrombosis (ST), and in-hospital and long-term (1 year) outcomes were compared between the two groups.

Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Tianjin Chest Hospital, 261, Taierzhuang South Road, Jinnan District, Tianjin, 300222, China.

Background: At present, serum Aspergillus IgG and IgM antibody detection is mainly used in the diagnosis of chronic pulmonary aspergillosis (CPA), but its value in the diagnosis of invasive pulmonary aspergillosis (IPA) in non-agranulocytic patients is still unclear. IgM can be used as a marker of acute infection to help diagnose acute infection-related diseases. IgG is a marker of long-term infection and is used to assist in the diagnosis of pre-existing or chronic infection-related diseases.

Purpose: The BIOFLOW-VI (Biotronik-Safety and Clinical Performance of the Drug Eluting Orsiro Stent in the Treatment of Subjects With De Novo Coronary Artery Lesions-VI) study evaluates the angiographic efficacy, clinical safety, and effectiveness of the ultrathin strut, biodegradable polymer sirolimus-eluting stent (BP-SES) compared with a durable polymer everolimus-eluting stent (DP-EES). This randomized controlled clinical trial was designed to enable approval of new drug-eluting stents in China.

Methods: A total of 440 eligible patients from 11 sites with up to 2 de novo native coronary artery lesions were randomly assigned to receive either BP-SES (n = 220) or DP-EES (n = 220) from July 2014 to September 2016 in this prospective, multicenter, noninferiority trial.

Background: Treatment of coronary bifurcation lesions remains challenging; a simple strategy has been preferred as of late, but the disadvantage is ostium stenosis or even occlusion of the side branch (SB). Only a few single-center studies investigating the combination of a drug-eluting stent in the main branch followed by a drug-eluting balloon in the SB have been reported. This prospective, multicenter, randomized study aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of a paclitaxel-eluting balloon (PEB) compared with regular balloon angioplasty (BA) in the treatment of non-left main coronary artery bifurcation lesions.

Background: Egg component-specific IgE can be useful to evaluate and diagnose egg allergy, but their prevalence and clinical significance remain unclear in the local population. Previous studies have led to contradictory results regarding the value of specific IgG and specific IgG4 in sensitization.

Objective: We aimed to determine the level of specific IgE, IgG, and IgG4 antibodies to the major egg allergens in egg-allergic children.

The role of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) in reducing the progression of albuminuria and risk of cardiovascular events in hypertensive patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is well-documented. However, the efficacy and safety of these agents in normotensive patients with DKD are still controversial. MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane Library were searched for relevant random controlled trials.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the third most common malignant tumor of the digestive system. Plasma cell tumor heterotopic gene 1 (PVT1) is an intergenic long non-coding RNA that is aberrantly expressed in different cancers. Myocardin-related transcription factor A or megakaryoblastic leukemia 1 (MKL1) is a transcriptional coactivator of serum response factor that has been shown to promote cancer cell migration and invasion.

Background: Various experimental and clinical studies have reported on coronary microcirculatory dysfunction ("no-reflow" phenomenon). Nevertheless, pathogenesis and effective treatment are yet to be fully elucidated. This study aimed to measure the intracoronary pressure gradient in the no-reflow artery during emergent percutaneous coronary intervention and explore the potential mechanism of no-reflow.

Background: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a great threat to human health and the biology of the NSCLC still remains largely unknown. Aberrantly expressed long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) Small nucleolar RNA host gene 6 (SNHG6) was involved in the tumorigenesis and progression of various cancers. The aim of this study is to investigate the roles of SNHG6 in NSCLC.

Electronic address:

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) gene expresses a transmembrane glycoprotein that is over-expressed in 15-30% breast, 3% lung, and other several digestive cancers. So HER2 is a good biomarker for tumor diagnostic and treatment monitoring. Clinically, detection of HER2 often employs invasive approaches with tissue samples, which at large extent limit its universal application.

Gut microbial taxa as potential predictive biomarkers for acute coronary syndrome and post-STEMI cardiovascular events.

Sci Rep

February 2020

Department of Cardiology, Tianjin Chest Hospital, No.261 Tai er zhuang Road, Jinnan District, Tianjin, 300222, P. R. China.

Unlabelled: Plasma trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) is associated with coronary atherosclerotic plaque and cardiovascular disease risk, but associations between gut microbes in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and post-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (post-STEMI) events are unknown. We investigated associations between gut microbial taxa and systemic TMAO levels and the possible TMAO contribution to incident post-STEMI cardiovascular events.

Patients And Methods: A total of 60 patients, including 30 with unstable angina pectoris (UAP), 30 post-STEMI and 30 healthy controls, were enrolled from June to November 2017.

Background: Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a disorder, characterized by clusters of cardiovascular risk factors such as central obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia and hypertension. Patients with MS may have a higher plaque burden that increases their risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs). This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of high-risk coronary plaques in patients with and without MS by coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and to investigate the relationship between MS, high-risk coronary plaques, and their prognosis.

Intraoperative bleeding is the most crucial safety concern of video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for a major pulmonary resection. Despite the advances in surgical techniques and devices, intraoperative bleeding is still not rare and remains the most common and potentially fatal cause of conversion from VATS to open thoracotomy. Therefore, to guide the clinical practice of VATS lung surgery, we proposed the International Interest Group on Bleeding during VATS Lung Surgery with 65 experts from 10 countries in the field to develop this consensus document.

Article Synopsis
  • * Results show that PCI has a significantly higher risk for serious complications like major adverse cardiac events, cardiac death, and repeat procedures compared to CABG.
  • * Ultimately, CABG is deemed more effective for managing complex CAD in diabetic patients, although it may carry a greater risk of stroke during mid-term follow-up.
