[Current status and research progress of occupational health monitoring in welding fume operations].

Welding operations are widely present in the manufacturing production process, involving a large number of occupational groups, and are the key occupations where work injuries and occupational diseases occur in China. For different welding processes and welding materials, the content and focus of occupational health monitoring are different. At present, the item of occupational health examination in welding operation is in poor consistency with the on-site exposure of occupational hazard factors, and it is mainly concentrated in the stage of disease development, which can not reflect the early health damage caused by welding dust exposure in time.

Characteristics of hypertension in the last 16 years in high prevalence region of China and the attribute ratios for cardiovascular mortality.

Background: Tianjin is one of the cities with the highest prevalence of hypertension in China and one of the first regions to develop community management of hypertension. Our aim was to analyze the characteristics of hypertension in the last 16 years, and estimate the population attributable fraction for cardiovascular mortality in Tianjin, China.

Methods: We compared the epidemiological characteristics of hypertension between 2002 and 2018 by analyzing data from the National Nutrition and Chronic Disease Risk Factor Survey.

[Analysis of occupational health examination status of people exposed to vinyl chloride].

To investigate the detection of occupational health for vinyl chloride workers in Tianjin. In this study, we have collected data from 7 companies with vinyl chloride hazards in 16 districts of Tianjin. Finally, the occupational health surveillance data of 478 vinyl chloride-exposed workers were included in the analysis.

High sodium diet intake and cardiovascular diseases: An attributable death study in Tianjin, China.

There is clear evidence that high sodium intake is associated with many health issues including hypertension and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). Several national and worldwide studies have estimated deaths from CVDs attributable to high sodium. But how to evaluate the impact of high sodium intake on diseases using regional routine monitoring and investigation data is necessary and important.

Studies exploring the association of tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) with breast cancer and related mechanisms are limited. To investigate the relationship between TBBPA levels in breast adipose and breast cancer, we carried out case-control research. As well as further examine the mediating role of adipose metabolites between TBBPA and breast cancer using the metabolomics approach.

Association between exposure to perfluoroalkyl substances and uric acid in Chinese adults.

Background: A growing body of evidence suggests the deleterious effects of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) on kidney, but little is known on the association between PFASs joint exposure and uric acid.

Methods: Serum PFASs concentrations were measured in 661 participants recruited from Tianjin, China using liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry. The associations of single PFASs exposure with uric acid levels and hyperuricemia were assessed using multivariable linear and logistic regression models, respectively.

Establishment and Validation of a New Predictive Model for Insulin Resistance based on 2 Chinese Cohorts: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Objective: The aims of this study were to determine the association of skeletal muscle mass with three cardiovascular risk factors and explore a simple and clinically feasible indicator for identifying high-risk groups of cardiovascular diseases in occupational sedentary population.

Methods: We recruited 7316 occupational sedentary participants older than 18 years from the Health Management Center of Tianjin Union Medical Center. Age-adjusted logistic regression was used to analyze the association between skeletal muscle mass index (SMI) and cardiovascular risk factors.

Selenium and vitamin B cosupplementation improves dyslipidemia and fatty liver syndrome by SIRT1/SREBP-1c pathway in hyperlipidemic Sprague-Dawley rats induced by high-fat diet.

Previously, our group found that the dietary trace mineral element selenium and vitamin B (VitB) alone was involved in lipid metabolism. However, the effects of selenium combined with VitB on hyperlipidemia and lipid metabolism have not been reported until now. We hypothesized that selenium and VitB cosupplementation would alleviate the hyperlipidemic and hepatic dysfunction and with minimum side effects in a Sprague-Dawley rat model of hyperlipidemia induced by a high-fat diet.

A total of 430 cases were reported in this epidemic in Tianjin, in which 409 cases were included in this study.

To investigate the application of GBZ/T 220.2-2009 "The Specification of Radiological Protection Assessment for Occupational Hazard in Construction Project-Part 2: Radiotherapy Facility" in health management institutions, and to understand the scientificity, practicability and problems existing in the implementation of the standard. The method of multistage stratified sampling and questionnaire survey were used to collect the standard application status among 96 radiological health managers who had participated in the evaluation of radiotherapy facility construction projects in 6 provinces and cities from November 2020 to April 2021.

Participants were from 11 provinces/municipalities reqistered in the Chinese National Twin Registry (CNTR) from 2010 to 2018. Participants data were collected from face-to-face questionnaire survey.

[Determination of phenyl glycidyl ether in workplace air by solvent desorption gas chromatography].

To establish a solvent desorption gas chromatographymethod for the determination of phenyl glycidyl ether (PGE) . From October to December 2020, PGE in the air of workplace was collected with carbon tube and desorbed by 25% acetone-carbon disulfide. The target toxicant was separated with the gas chromatography (GC) column and analyzed with flame ionization detector (FID), and quantified by peak area.

In May 2021, 3516 workers in an automobile manufacturing enterprise were investigated by using a self-made questionnaire＂Noise Workers Questionnaire＂ and cluster sampling method. The occupational noise hygiene survey and occupational hazards detection were carried out in their workplaces.

Background: It was urgent and necessary to synthesize the evidence for vaccine effectiveness (VE) against SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern (VOC). We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to provide a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness profile of COVID-19 vaccines against VOC.

Methods: Published randomized controlled trials (RCTs), cohort studies, and case-control studies that evaluated the VE against VOC (Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, or Omicron) were searched until 4 March 2022.

[Analysis on psychoactive substances use in men who have sex with men in Tianjin].

To understand the use of psychoactive substances and its related factors in men who have sex with men (MSM) in Tianjin. A cross-sectional survey was conducted in MSM recruited in Tianjin by snowball sampling from September 2017 to December 2020, the information about their social demographic information, use of psychoactive substances and behavioral characteristics were collected, meanwhile the blood samples were taken from them for HIV/syphilis detections. Multivariate logistic regression was used to explore related factors about psychoactive substances use.
