Developing a wearable device that can continuously and reliably detect and evaluate heart rate variability (HRV) parameters is critical for the diabetic population with cardiac autonomic neuropathy (CAN). In this work, we proposed a zwitterionic conducting hydrogel that enabled a reliable and comfortable wearable device for the evaluation and detection of the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The hydrogel can achieve a strain of 2003 %, an electrical conductivity of 190 mS/m, and is capable of adhering to a variety of materials, including wood, plastic, and glass.

CRISPR/Cas12a systems have been repurposed as powerful tools for developing next-generation molecular diagnostics due to their -cleavage ability. However, it was long considered that the CRISPR/Cas12a system could only recognize DNA targets. Herein, we systematically investigated the intrinsic -cleavage activity of the CRISPR/Cas12a system (LbCas12a) and found that it could be activated through fragmented ssDNA activators.

Department of Nutrition and Food Science, School of Public Health, Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China; Tianjin Key Laboratory of Environment, Nutrition and Public Health, Tianjin, China; Key Laboratory of Prevention and Control of Major Diseases in the Population, Ministry of Education, School of Public Health, Tianjin Medical University, Tianjin, China; Department of Critical Care Medicine and Anesthesiology, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, Tianjin, China. Electronic address:

Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) positively affect cognitive function. However, it remains unclear whether the improvement is related to the alterations of gut microbiota and inflammation and the impact of the combined intervention. In this study, we hypothesized that the supplementation of MCTs combined with DHA could modulate gut microbiota, inflammation, and improve cognitive function in APPswe/PS1De9 model mice and senescence-accelerated mouse-prone-8, which are two different mouse models used in neurodegeneration research.

Background: Air quality health index (AQHI), as a developed air quality risk communication tool, has been proved to be more accurate in predicting air quality related health risks than air quality index (AQI) by previous studies. However, the standard method to construct AQHI is summing the excess risks of single-pollutant models directly, which may ignore the joint effect of air pollutant mixtures.

Methods: In this study, a new method which could solve the aforementioned problem, Analytic hierarchy process (AHP), was introduced.
