Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic progressive interstitial lung disease that seriously threatens the health of patients. The pathogenesis of IPF is still unclear, and there is a lack of effective therapeutic drugs. Myofibroblasts are the main effector cells of IPF, leading to excessive deposition of extracellular matrix (ECM) and promoting the progression of fibrosis.

Background: The histologic classification of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) was mainly divided into three pathological subtype groups: the low-grade predominant subtype group (lepidic), the intermediate-grade predominant subtype group (papillary and acinar), and the high-grade predominant subtype group (micropapillary and solid). Previous studies have focused on the prognostic impact of predominant subtypes of lung adenocarcinoma. In this investigation, we investigated the effect of the second predominant subtype on prognosis.

Department of Anesthesiology, Tianjin Institute of Anesthesiology, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, Tianjin 300052, China; Department of Critical Care Medicine, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, Tianjin 300052, China. Electronic address:

Background: Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) is a cognitive dysfunction caused by sepsis. Hyperphosphorylated tau is considered to play a significant role in the progression of neurodegenerative disease and also contributes to cognitive dysfunction in septic mice. Molecular hydrogen (H) plays an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory role, and plays a protective role in septic mice.

Electronic address:

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive, and fibrotic interstitial lung disease with lesions confined to the lungs and is prevalent in the middle-aged and elderly population. The average survival time after diagnosis of IPF is only 3-5 years, and the mortality rate is higher than that of most tumours. IPF is called a "tumour-like disease".

Electronic address:

Background: Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a chronic, progressive and fatal interstitial lung disease with high mortality and limited treatment. Only two drugs are currently approved for the treatment of IPF, but both have limitations and neither drug could prolong survival time of patients. The etiology of IPF is unclear, but there is growing evidence that B cells and B cell receptor signaling play important roles in the pathogenesis of IPF.

Background: Chronic otitis media is a common middle ear disease in otolaryngology. Bacterial infection is considered as the cause of the disease, but relying on conventional bacterial cultures can be problematic for identifying specific pathogens. Current research suggests that bacteria in microbial communities can only be identified by rDNA sequencing of bacteria.

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the pterygium formation and recurrence, by detecting the expression of Nod-like receptor pyrin domain 3 (NLRP3) and Nod-like receptor pyrin domain 6 (NLRP6) in pterygium and evaluate the correlation between NLRP3 and NLRP6 in pterygium.

Methods: In this prospective study, the expression levels of NLRP3 and NLRP6, with their related effectors, were evaluated in primary pterygium (n = 40) and recurrent pterygium (n = 32) tissue samples and compared with normal conjunctiva (n = 11) tissue samples by immunohistochemistry.

Results: Compared to the normal conjunctiva group, the expression levels of NLRP3, caspase-1, IL-18, and IL-1β, were significantly higher, and NLRP6 showed an expression that was significantly lower in pterygium tissue samples (P < 0.

P2Y1 purinergic receptor inhibition attenuated remifentanil-induced postoperative hyperalgesia via decreasing NMDA receptor phosphorylation in dorsal root ganglion.

Brain Res Bull

December 2021

Department of Anesthesiology, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, No. 154 Anshan Road, Heping District, Tianjin 300052, PR China; Tianjin Research Institute of Anesthesiology, No. 154 Anshan Road, Heping District, Tianjin 300052, PR China. Electronic address:

Background: Remifentanil-induced postoperative hyperalgesia is an intractable side effect of the clinical use of remifentanil, the mechanism of which remains obscure, especially in the peripheral nervous system. N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) phosphorylation in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) plays a pronociceptive role in neuropathic pain. The contribution of the P2Y1 purinergic receptor (P2Y1R) in DRG to pain hypersensitivity derived from various origins and P2Y1R upregulation-induced NMDAR activation in neurons have also been uncovered.

Background: Neoantigen (NeoAg) peptides displayed at the tumor cell surface by human leukocyte antigen molecules show exquisite tumor specificity and can elicit T cell mediated tumor rejection. However, few NeoAgs are predicted to be shared between patients, and none to date have demonstrated therapeutic value in the context of vaccination.

Methods: We report here a phase I trial of personalized NeoAg peptide vaccination (PPV) of 24 stage III/IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients who had previously progressed following multiple conventional therapies, including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs).

Background: Remifentanil can induce postinfusion cold hyperalgesia. N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) activation and upregulation of transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) membrane trafficking in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) are critical to cold hyperalgesia derived from neuropathic pain, and TRPM8 activation causes NMDAR-dependent cold response. Contribution of P2Y1 purinergic receptor (P2Y1R) activation in DRG to cold pain hypersensitivity and NMDAR activation induced by P2Y1R upregulation in neurons are also unraveled.
