Objective: To assess whether the Life's Essential 8 (LE8) score mediates the association of socioeconomic status (SES) with atrial fibrillation (AF) and heart failure (HF).

Methods: A total of 236,754 participants from the UK Biobank were included. SES was determined based on household income, education attainment, and employment status using latent class analysis.

Methods: Up to May 26, 2024, the databases of PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials.gov, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature, China Science and Technology Journal, and Wanfang were searched, and the randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) of osimertinib plus bevacizumab in the treatment of advanced EGFR-mutant NSCLC were included.

Background: This study aims to assess the associations of admission systolic blood pressure (SBP) level with spontaneous reperfusion (SR) and long-term prognosis in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients.

Methods: Data from 3809 STEMI patients who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention within 24 h, as recorded in the Chinese STEMI PPCI Registry (NCT04996901), were analyzed. The primary endpoint was SR, defined as thrombolysis in myocardial infarction grade 2-3 flow of IRA according to emergency angiography.

Lidocaine and risk of postoperative vomiting in children undergoing tonsillectomy: a randomised clinical trial.

The dose-response of intravenous lidocaine in preventing postoperative vomiting (POV) in children remains unclear. This study investigated whether intravenous lidocaine dose-dependently decreased POV risk within 24 h postoperatively in children undergoing tonsillectomy (with or without adenoidectomy) without severe complications. Objective: To assess the characteristics of Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody-associated disorder (MOGAD) with brainstem involvement in the first event (BSIFE) and make comparisons with aquaporin-4-IgG seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (AQP4-IgG-NMOSD) and multiple sclerosis (MS).

Methods: From 2017 to 2022, this study identified MOG-IgG-positive patients with brainstem or both brainstem and cerebellum lesions in the first episode. As a comparison group, AQP4-IgG-NMOSD (n = 30) and MS (n = 30) patients with BSIFE were enroled.

Eosinophilic solid and cystic renal cell carcinoma: a review of literature focused on radiological findings and differential diagnosis.

Eosinophilic solid and cystic renal cell carcinoma (ESC-RCC) is a rare type of renal cell carcinoma with inert biological behavior that has not yet been included in the 2016 World Health Organization (WHO) classification, and its imaging manifestations are unclear due to its rarity. Although there have only been a few cases, the CT and MRI findings of ESC-RCC are characterized by its cystic solid structure, according to the proportion of cystic and solid components observed on images, ESC-RCC can be categorized into three types. Especially the Type I, when the cystic-solid components are almost equal, the imaging findings are illustrated as "lotus root-like," which may be helpful in the differential diagnosis of ESC-RCC from other types of renal tumors.

Background: Juvenile xanthogranuloma (JXG) is a kind of non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis, usually with skin lesions as the main manifestation. It rarely occurs in other tissues or organs and even more rarely is it found in the skull. Here, we report a case of xanthogranuloma derived from the temporal bone that was not present in any other parts of the body.
