Introduction: To compare the anatomical and functional outcome and changes in the quality of life (QoL) over time of the lateral tarsal strip (LTS) versus the Quickert everting sutures (ES) for the repair of primary involutional lower eyelid entropion.
Methods: Forty-five patients (54 eyes) with primary involutional lower eyelid entropion were recruited in a prospective randomized clinical trial over 3-year period. Twenty-six eyes were randomized to the LTS technique and 28 to the ES procedure.

Material And Methods: Data from 120 patients who underwent HoLEP by a single surgeon between November 2015 and January 2018 were prospectively analyzed. Group 1 (n=40) and Group 2 (n=80) consisted of patients with and without MS, respectively.

Purpose: To determine the parameters that may help the clinicians decide the best suitable treatment method for the pregnant women with symptomatic hydronephrosis which will be based on the easily accessible laboratory tests, monitoring methods and clinical symptoms.
Methods: Digital data and documents of 246 pregnant women with symptomatic hydronephrosis who were hospitalized in our clinic between the dates of January 2011 and January 2016 were retrospectively evaluated. All patients were statistically evaluated in terms of age, symptomatic maximal anterior-posterior diameter of the renal pelvis (MADP), parity, C-reactive protein (CRP) level, white blood cell count (WBC), presence of pyuria, growth of urine culture, fever, serum urine and creatinine levels, visual analog scale (VAS) score of pre- and post-therapy and threatened preterm labor.

Material And Methods: A total of 25 children with adenotonsillar disease are included in the study; the children were followed for 6 months in the conducted clinics and underwent AT operation. An age- and sex-matched control group was constituted with 25 healthy children free of adenotonsillar disease.

The inability to remove a urethral catheter because of inadvertent stitching or entrapped sutures after radical retropubic prostatectomy is rarely reported in the literature. Here, we discuss a method developed by using a pediatric optical urethrotome to remove endoscopically a Foley urethral catheter that was encircled by a vesicouretheral anastomotic suture.

Background/aims: The factors that effect resectability, major morbidity, early mortality, and survival in advanced stage gastric adenocarcinoma patients are evaluated.
Methodology: Records of 74 patients that underwent surgery for stage IV gastric adenocarcinoma in the Third Surgical Clinic of Izmir Atatürk Training Hospital between January 1997 and January 2004 were reviewed retrospectively. Two groups (the patients with resectable disease and those with unresectable disease) were compared with regard to age, gender, primary complaint, symptoms, site of the tumor, involvement of adjacent organs, lymph node involvement, distant metastases, differentiation of tumor, surgical procedure, perioperative blood transfusions, and postoperative hospital stay.
