Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common tumors in the digestive system, and the majority of patients are found to be in advanced stages, which is a burden to human health all over the world. Moreover, in recent years, CRC has been progressively becoming younger, with an increasing incidence mainly among patients <50 years old. Despite the increase in awareness of CRC and the continuous improvement of medical treatment nowadays, the challenge of CRC still needs to be conquered.

Analysis of the relevant factors for corneal graft rejection in the southern Liaoning region from 2019 to 2023.

Background: The study aimed to review the etiology of corneal blindness and investigate the relative risk of corneal graft rejection (CGR) in the southern Liaoning region.

Methods: The clinical records of 359 patients (394 eyes) who underwent corneal transplantation at the Department of Keratoconus of the Third People's Hospital of Dalian from January 2019 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The data included patients' age, gender, occupation, diagnosis, surgical procedure, postoperative immune rejection, and neovascularization.

Atypical conjunctival sporotrichosis secondary to Mooren's ulcer: a case report.

Background: Conjunctival sporotrichosis is a rare fungal infection, typically presenting as granulomatous lesions. Its manifestations can be atypical, particularly in immunosuppressed patients. Here, we present a rare case of a Mooren's ulcer patient with bulbar conjunctival Sporotrichosis presenting as a salmon-pink tumor.

Progress of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors Therapy for pMMR/MSS Metastatic Colorectal Cancer.

Immunotherapy is one of the research hotspots in colorectal cancer field in recent years. The colorectal cancer patients with mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) or high microsatellite instability (MSI-H) are the primary beneficiaries of immunotherapy. However, the vast majority of colorectal cancers are mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) or microsatellite stability (MSS), and their immune microenvironment is characterized by "cold tumors" that are generally insensitive to single immunotherapy based on immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).

Objectives: To analyze the influence of daily activity-related factors associated with COVID-19 infection on the occurrence of acute angle closure (AAC).

Methods: A multicenter hospital-based study was conducted at 23 ophthalmic centers in 17 provincial-level regions across China to recruit patients with confirmed AAC during the post-lockdown time of COVID-19 (P-TOC) from Dec 7, 2022, to Jan 17, 2023, and three lockdown time of COVID-19 (TOC) periods, which included the TOC-2022 (Sep 7, 2022 - Dec 6, 2022), TOC-2021(Sep 7, 2021 - Jan 6, 2022) and TOC-2020 (Sep 7, 2020 - Jan 6, 2021). Patient information, including demographic, a questionnaire on daily activity changes during the AAC period, COVID-19 history, and eye examination results, was collected.

In the present study, we performed a comprehensive examination as well as meta-analysis to assess the influence of infection with HPV upon the long-term outlook as well as sensitivity of individuals with vulvar cancer undergoing radiation therapy.

Association between tumor size and prognosis in patients with small bowel adenocarcinoma-a SEER-based study.

Background: The association between small-bowel adenocarcinoma (SBA) tumor size and prognosis is unclear, and we used the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to assess the prognostic value of SBA tumor size.

Methods: Patients with postoperative SBA were selected from the SEER database, and overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) were used as outcome variables. Tumor size was used as a categorical and continuous variable, respectively, to adjust for confounders and analyze the association between SBA tumor size and prognosis using Cox proportional hazard regression, and the results were visualized using restricted cubic splines (RCS).
