Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common tumors in the digestive system, and the majority of patients are found to be in advanced stages, which is a burden to human health all over the world. Moreover, in recent years, CRC has been progressively becoming younger, with an increasing incidence mainly among patients <50 years old. The special structure of eyes and the existence of various physiological barriers make ocular drug delivery one of the most difficult problems in the pharmaceutical field. Considering the problems of patient compliance, local administration remains the preferred method of drug administration in the anterior part of eyes. However, local administration suffers from poor bioavailability, need for frequent administration, and systemic toxicity.

Background: Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is prevalent in Southeast Asia and North Africa, which is generally associated with limited treatment options and poor patient prognosis.
Objective: Ferroptosis is a recently observed cell death modality and has been shown to link to the efficacy of different anti-cancer treatments, thus offering opportunities to the development of novel therapies. This study aims to investigate the potentiating effects of COX-2 inhibitors on ferroptosis in nasopharyngeal cancer.

Background: Retinoblastoma (RB), an aggressive intraocular malignancy, significantly adds to the global disease burden in early childhood. This study offers insights into the global burden of retinoblastoma (RB) in children aged 0-9 years, examining incidence, mortality, and DALYs from 1990 to 2021, across age, sex, location, and SDI levels. It aims to inform health policy, resource allocation, and RB combat strategies.

Immunotherapy is one of the research hotspots in colorectal cancer field in recent years. The colorectal cancer patients with mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) or high microsatellite instability (MSI-H) are the primary beneficiaries of immunotherapy. However, the vast majority of colorectal cancers are mismatch repair proficient (pMMR) or microsatellite stability (MSS), and their immune microenvironment is characterized by "cold tumors" that are generally insensitive to single immunotherapy based on immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs).

Objectives: To analyze the influence of daily activity-related factors associated with COVID-19 infection on the occurrence of acute angle closure (AAC).
Methods: A multicenter hospital-based study was conducted at 23 ophthalmic centers in 17 provincial-level regions across China to recruit patients with confirmed AAC during the post-lockdown time of COVID-19 (P-TOC) from Dec 7, 2022, to Jan 17, 2023, and three lockdown time of COVID-19 (TOC) periods, which included the TOC-2022 (Sep 7, 2022 - Dec 6, 2022), TOC-2021(Sep 7, 2021 - Jan 6, 2022) and TOC-2020 (Sep 7, 2020 - Jan 6, 2021). Patient information, including demographic, a questionnaire on daily activity changes during the AAC period, COVID-19 history, and eye examination results, was collected.

Surface ablation laser surgery has resurged in popularity recently because of its safety in correcting myopia and favorable postoperative corneal biomechanical properties. This study aimed to investigate the current focal points and future trends in surface ablation laser surgery over the last 2 decades. The Web of Science Core Collection was used as the primary data source to retrieve literature related to surface ablation laser surgery.

Background: Synovial sarcoma (SS), a malignant and uncommon soft tissue sarcoma, typically manifests in the extremities and trunk. However, its occurrence in the infratemporal fossa (ITF) of the head and neck is exceedingly rare. Patients afflicted with SS in this anatomical region pose considerable challenges, as radical surgery is often difficult to undertake, leading to a high rate of postoperative recurrence.

Objective: Vulvar carcinoma exhibits a robust correlation alongside HPV infection; however, the impact of HPV rank on the prognostic outcomes of radiation therapy within vulvar malignancies stays ambiguous. In the present study, we performed a comprehensive examination as well as meta-analysis to assess the influence of infection with HPV upon the long-term outlook as well as sensitivity of individuals with vulvar cancer undergoing radiation therapy.
Methods: A meticulous examination of the existing research was conducted in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement.

Background: The association between small-bowel adenocarcinoma (SBA) tumor size and prognosis is unclear, and we used the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database to assess the prognostic value of SBA tumor size.
Methods: Patients with postoperative SBA were selected from the SEER database, and overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) were used as outcome variables. Tumor size was used as a categorical and continuous variable, respectively, to adjust for confounders and analyze the association between SBA tumor size and prognosis using Cox proportional hazard regression, and the results were visualized using restricted cubic splines (RCS).
