Purpose: The mechanism of lung cancer (LC) in male patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has not been well understood, and the early diagnosis is currently challenging. The study aimed to explore the association of DNA methylation levels with LC development in male COPD patients.
Patients And Methods: A total of 147 male participants were divided into four groups, ie, COPD+LC group, COPD group, LC group, and control (CON) group.

Lung cancer is a malignant tumor with the highest morbidity and mortality rate worldwide, and it seriously endangers human health. In recent years, immunotherapy has been widely used in lung cancer and has achieved great benefits, especially the application of promoting antitumor immune defense. However, immune-related adverse events (irAEs) caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors have received increasing attention, which largely limits their use.

Background: To date, there is no effective medicine to treat coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and the antiviral efficacy of arbidol in the treatment for COVID-19 remained equivocal and controversial. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of arbidol tablets in the treatment of COVID-19.
Methods: This was a prospective, open-label, controlled and multicenter investigator-initiated trial involving adult patients with confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.

Background: There are still no detailed data about the burden of bacterial antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in urinary tract infections (UTI). Concrete knowledge of global and regional bacterial AMR data is crucial for developing informed programs and policies to control bacterial AMR and for prudent use of antibiotics to optimize antibiotic therapy in patients with UTI. This study aimed to provide comprehensive global and regional estimates for the AMR burden of UTI in 2019.

Background: Prolactinoma is the most common type of pituitary tumors, and its resultant tumor occupying and hormone disturbance greatly damage the health of patients. In this study, we investigated a protein kinase-PDZ Binding Kinase (PBK)/T-LAK Cell-Originated Protein Kinase (TOPK) as a candidate protein regulating prolactin (PRL) secretion and tumor growth of prolactinomas.
Methods: Downloaded prolactinoma transcriptome dataset from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database, and screened differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between normal pituitary tissues and prolactinoma tissues.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is regarded as an independent risk factor for hypertension. The possible mechanism includes oxidative stress, endothelial injury, sympathetic excitement, renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system activation, etc. Clinical studies have found that there is a high coexistence of OSA and primary aldosteronism in patients with hypertension and that elevated aldosterone levels are independently associated with OSA severity in resistant hypertension.

This study retrospectively included some patients with colorectal cancer diagnosed by histopathology, to explore the feasibility of CT medical image texture analysis in predicting KRAS gene mutations in patients with colorectal cancer. Before any surgical procedure, all patients received an enhanced CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis, as well as genetic testing. To define patient groups, divide all patients into test and validation sets based on the order of patient enrollment.

Background: Prolactinoma is a functional pituitary adenoma that secretes excessive prolactin. Dopamine agonists (DAs) such as bromocriptine (BRC) are the first-line treatment for prolactinomas, but the resistance rate is increasing year by year, creating a clinical challenge. Therefore, it is urgent to explore the molecular mechanism of bromocriptine resistance in prolactinomas.

Background: Inadequate bowel preparation is associated with a decrease in adenoma detection rate (ADR). A deep learning-based bowel preparation assessment system based on the Boston bowel preparation scale (BBPS) has been previously established to calculate the automatic BBPS (e-BBPS) score (ranging 0-20). The aims of this study were to investigate whether there was a statistically inverse relationship between the e-BBPS score and the ADR, and to determine the threshold of e-BBPS score for adequate bowel preparation in colonoscopy screening.

Prolactinomas have harmful effects on human health, and the pathogenesis is still unknown. Furthermore, 25% of prolactinoma patients do not respond to the therapy of dopamine receptor agonist in the clinic. Thus, it is important to reveal the pathogenesis and develop new therapeutic methods for prolactinomas.

Background: Recently, the association between inflammatory bowel disease (including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease) and BMD has attracted great interest in the research community. However, the results of the published epidemiological observational studies on the relationship between inflammatory bowel disease and BMD are still inconclusive. Here, we performed a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis to investigate the causal link between inflammatory bowel disease and level of BMD using publically available GWAS summary statistics.
