Background: Chronic low back pain (LBP) is a significant global health concern, often linked to vertebral bone marrow lesions (BML), particularly fatty replacement (FR). This study aims to explore the relationship between the gut microbiome, serum metabolome, and FR in chronic LBP patients.

Methods: Serum metabolomic profiling and gut microbiome analysis were conducted in chronic LBP patients with and without FR (LBP + FR,  = 40; LBP,  = 40) and Healthy Controls (HC,  = 31).

Objectives: To construct a three-dimensional visualized model of the sacral nerve canal, and understand its structure and angles.

Methods: This was a retrospective study including 20 patients undergoing computerized tomography (CT) scanning of the sacrum. Consecutive CT images in Dicom format were directly imported into Mimics software.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic value of serum alkaline phosphatase (AKP), tumor-supplied growth factor group (TSGF), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) for pediatric osteosarcoma.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of clinical data from 81 pediatric osteosarcoma patients (osteosarcoma group) and 63 patients with benign bone tumors (benign bone tumor group) admitted to Yantaishan Hospital from February 2023 to November 2023 was conducted. Basic and clinical data differences between the two groups of children were compared.

Long-term clinical application and related evidence have shown that the prescription has ideal effect in alleviating the pain in neck, shoulder, and upper limbs, stiffness or scurrying numbness, and scurrying pain caused by this disease. However, there is a lack of consensus on the clinical application of Jingtong Granules.

Risk factors affecting the incidence of postoperative periprosthetic femoral fracture in primary hip arthroplasty patients: a retrospective study.

The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics and risk factors for postoperative periprosthetic femoral fracture (PFF). This was a retrospective cohort study of 108 patients with and 432 control patients without postoperative PFF. Demographic characteristics, surgery-related information (primary hip disease diagnosed, fixation, femoral stem, method of operation, and bone resorption of the proximal femur), and postoperative patient outcomes (hip function, treatment history, and patients' lifestyle behaviors) were recorded and compared between the groups.

Objective: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been shown to play an important role in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury. This study aimed to determine the role of miR-432 in MI/R injury.

Methods: We established a MI/R injury model by ligation/untying of the left anterior descending coronary artery, and used viral infection to regulate gene expression, such as that of miR-432 and , and used RT-qPCR to detect the expression of the gene at mRNA level.

Comparison of clinical outcomes of using the nonirradiated and irradiated allograft for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction: A systematic review update and meta-analysis.

Background: This study was a systematic review comparing the clinical outcomes of using the nonirradiated and irradiated allograft for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction.

Methods: A comprehensive literature search was conducted using multiple databases, including Medline, Embase, and Cochrane. All databases were searched from the earliest records through August 2019 using the following Boolean operators: irradiated AND nonirradiated AND ACL AND allograft.

Laminoplasty and simultaneous C2 semi-laminectomy with internal fixation in treating ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament in cervical discs at C2 segment.

Objective: To explore the effect of open-door laminoplasty and simultaneous C2 semi-laminectomy with lateral mass screw fixation (LSLF) in treating ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) in cervical discs at C2 segment.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 76 patients diagnosed with OPLL in cervical discs at C2 segment from November 2016 to May 2019 were included. These patients were assigned into a LSLF group (n=41, LSLF surgery) and LF group (n=35, laminectomy and lateral mass screw fixation) according to the treatment they received.

Objective: To investigate the correlations between preoperative diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)-based technique and surgical outcome in patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM).

Methods: A retrospective study of 95 patients with CSM who received diagnosis and surgical treatment in our hospital was carried out. According to the recovery rate of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scale at the 1-year postoperative follow-up, the patients were divided into a good recovery group (JOA recovery rate ≥60%, n = 47) and a poor recovery group (JOA recovery rate <60%, n = 48).
