The transient receptor potential (TRP) protein superfamily is a special group of cation channels expressed in different cell types and signaling pathways. In this review, we focus on TRPA1 (transient receptor potential ankyrin 1), an ion channel in this family that exists in the cell membrane and shows a different function from other TRP channels. TRPA1 usually has a special activation effect that can induce cation ions, especially calcium ions, to flow into activated cells.

LncRNAs regulate ferroptosis to affect diabetes and its complications.

Front Physiol

September 2022

Institute of Life Sciences and Biomedicine Collaborative Innovation Center of Zhejiang province, College of Life and Environmental Science, Wenzhou University, Wenzhou, China.

Worldwide, the rapid increase in the incidence of diabetes and its complications poses a serious threat to human health. Ferroptosis, which is a new nonapoptotic form of cell death, has been proven to be closely related to the occurrence and development of diabetes and its complications. In recent years, lncRNAs have been confirmed to be involved in the occurrence and development of diabetes and play an important role in regulating ferroptosis.

Recent Advances in Nano-Formulations for Skin Wound Repair Applications.

Drug Des Devel Ther

August 2022

Institute of Life Sciences, College of Life and Environmental Science, Wenzhou University, Wenzhou, People's Republic of China.

Skin injuries caused by accidents and acute or chronic diseases place a heavy burden on patients and health care systems. Current treatments mainly depend on preventing infection, debridement, and hemostasis and on supplementing growth factors, but patients will still have scar tissue proliferation or difficulty healing and other problems after treatment. Conventional treatment usually focuses on a single factor or process of wound repair and often ignores the influence of the wound pathological microenvironment on the final healing effect.

Age is an important factor that determines the physiological functions of the human body, but the changes in maternal physiology, biochemistry, and intestinal flora related to reproductive age and their impact on offspring are not clear. Here, we tested and analyzed the clinical physiological and biochemical indicators and/or intestinal flora, matching the data of 252 parturients and their newborns. We found that 4 clinical indicators, including the white blood cell count and the absolute value of monocytes, were significantly related to the reproductive age ( < 0.

Simulation Study of Canal Switching in BPPV.

Front Neurol

July 2022

Neurology Department, Third Affiliated Hospital of Shanghai University, Wenzhou Third Clinical Institute Affiliated to Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou People's Hospital, Wenzhou, China.

The objective of this research was to investigate the mechanism of canal switching in benign paroxysmal positional vertigo through a virtual simulation model. Using Unity 3D software and a built-in NVIDIA Physx physics engine, the virtual simulation software is developed using a browser-server architecture, and different models are imported. Based on the benign paroxysmal positional vertigo virtual simulation model, we constructed five different virtual reality scenes of diagnosis and treatment, set otoliths in different positions of the semicircular canals, and analyzed the effects of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on otolith location.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common metabolic and endocrinopathies disorder in women of reproductive age and non-alcoholic fatty liver (NAFLD) is one of the most common liver diseases worldwide. Previous research has indicated potential associations between PCOS and NAFLD, but the underlying pathophysiology is still not clear. The present study aims to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between PCOS and NAFLD through the bioinformatics method, and explore the associated molecular mechanisms.

Dermal papilla (DP) cells regulate hair follicle epithelial cells and melanocytes by secreting functional factors, playing a key role in hair follicle morphogenesis and hair growth. DP cells can reconstitute new hair follicles and induce hair regeneration, providing a potential therapeutic strategy for treating hair loss. However, current methods for isolating DP cells are either inefficient (physical microdissection) or only applied to genetically labeled mice.

Halbach magnet has great potential in nuclear magnetic resonance device, where the field homogeneity requirement puts heavy demands on high efficiencypassive shimming (PS) technique. Conventional PS involves a tedious iteration process of the magnetic block/sheet number and positions optimization. In this paper, we propose a PS method based on magnetic sheet arrays (MSAs) targeting at spherical harmonic basis up to the 3rd order including dedicated composition of Y(4Z2-X2-Y2), Z3 and X(4Z2-X2-Y2) (n = 3, m = -1,0,1) with cross terms to implement structural field compensation.

The infection with HPV 16 and 18 high-risk types account for more than 80 % of cervical cancer incidence, but there is still no targeted agent against HPV for cervical cancer therapy. Our previous study constructed a bispecific affibody Z targeting HPV16 and 18 early antigen 7 (E7, responsible for the infected cell malignant transformation). In the present study, we prepared Z in prokaryotic expression system and confirmed its significant growth inhibition both on SiHa (HPV16 positive) and HeLa (HPV18 positive) cervical cancer cells by arresting cell cycle at G/G phase.
