The objectives were to observe the effects of different concentrations of desflurane on QT, QTc, Tp-e, Tp-e/QT, and the index of cardiac electrophysiological balance (iCEB). Sixty patients were randomly divided into group D, group D, and group D by using a random number table, 20 in each group. After entering the operating room, patients received 10 mL/kg hydroxyethyl starch, 0.

Objective To explore the correlation between asymptomatic bacteriuria(AB)and surgical site infection(SSI)in middle-aged and elderly women undergoing open hysterectomy. Methods The clinical data of 1469 middle-aged and elderly women undergoing open hysterectomy in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University from June 2011 to August 2018 were retrospectively analyzed.Factors associated with SSI after operation were analyzed by univariate and multivariate regression models to identify the relationship of AB with SSI after open hysterectomy.

Objective: To investigate the effect of sevoflurane on the monophasic action potentials (MAPs) in isolated rat hearts after ischemia-reperfusion.

Methods: Twenty-four healthy SD male rats, weighing 280-320 g, were randomly divided into three groups after successful preparation of a Langendorff isolated heart perfusion model with a stabilization period perfusion of 15 min with Krebs-Henseleit (K-H) fluid ( = 8): the control group (group A, continuously perfused with K-H fluid for 105 min), the ischemia-reperfusion group (group B, continuously perfused with K-H fluid for 15 min, and then exposed to 60 min of global ischemia induced by Thomas solution followed by 30 min of reperfusion), and the sevoflurane group (group C, K-H fluid contained 1.0 MAC sevoflurane, and other procedures were same as in group B).

Dendritic cells (DCs) are potent and specialized antigen presenting cells, which play a crucial role in initiating and amplifying both the innate and adaptive immune responses against cancer. Tumor cells can escape from immune attack by secreting suppressive cytokines that solely or cooperatively impair the immune function of DCs. However, the underlying mechanisms are not fully defined.

Accumulating evidence indicates a critical role for T cells and relevant cytokines in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, the specific contribution of T cells together with the related circulating cytokines in disease pathogenesis and organ involvement is still not clear. In the current study, we investigated relevant molecule expressions and cytokine levels in blood samples from 49 SLE patients and 22 healthy control subjects.

Immune infiltration in renal cell carcinoma.

Cancer Sci

May 2019

Immune Cells and Antibody Engineering Research Center of Guizhou Province/Key Laboratory of Biology and Medical Engineering, Guizhou Medical University, Guiyang, China.

Immune infiltration of tumors is closely associated with clinical outcome in renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIICs) regulate cancer progression and are appealing therapeutic targets. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of TIICs in RCC and further reveal the independent prognostic values of TIICs.

Persistent inflammasome activation contributes to chronic, low grade inflammation. However, it is unclear how the inflammasome activation is sustained after initiation. Here we reported that N-acetylcytidine (N4A), a nucleoside metabolite, activated microglia and sustained NLRP3 inflammasome activation by inducing HMGB1 signaling.

Objective: This study aimed to assess the role of different subsets of circulating follicular helper T cells (Tfh), central memory (TCM), effector memory (TEM), Naïve T, chemokines, and cytokines in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Methods: Blood samples from RA patients (n = 44) and healthy controls (n = 37) were analyzed. The frequencies of circulating Tfh, TCM, TEM, and Naïve T cell subsets were enumerated, and the expression of co-stimulatory molecules, such as inducible co-stimulator (ICOS) and programmed death-1 (PD1), on these cells was evaluated by flow cytometry.

Oxidative stress-mediated activation of NLRP3 inflammasome in microglia is critical in the development of neurodegerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson disease (PD). However, the mechanism underlying oxidative stress activates NLRP3 inflammasome remains exclusive. Here we demonstrated cathepsin B (CTSB) as a regulator of the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome by HO·HO induced IL-1β secretion in NLRP3 inflammasome-dependent manner·HO treatment increased CTSB activity, which in turn activated NLRP3 inflammasome, and subsequently processed pro-caspase-1 cleavage into caspase-1, resulting in IL-1 β secretion.

(1) BACKGROUND: Transient receptor potential vanilloid 3 (TRPV3) is a member of the TRP channels family of Ca(2+)-permeant channels. The proteins of some TRP channels are highly expressed in cancer cells. This study aimed to assess the clinical significance and biological functions of TRPV3 in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC); (2) METHODS: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of TRPV3 in NSCLC tissues and adjacent noncancerous lung tissues.
