Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the major cause of chronic liver disease worldwide, with no universally recognized effective treatments currently available. In recent years, ginseng and its principal active components, such as ginsenosides, have shown potential protective effects in the treatment of these liver diseases. In NAFLD, studies have demonstrated that ginseng can improve hepatic lipid metabolism, reduce inflammatory responses, and inhibit oxidative stress and fibrosis, thereby attenuating the progression of NAFLD.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world, and about 50% of its advanced patients will have liver metastasis. Preoperative assessment of the risk of liver metastasis in patients with colorectal cancer is of great significance for making individualized treatment plans. Traditional imaging examinations and tumor markers have some limitations in predicting the risk of liver metastasis.

Surgical intervention is currently the primary treatment for hepatolithiasis; however, some patients still experience residual stones and high recurrence rates after surgery. Cholesterol metabolism seems to play an important role in hepatolithiasis pathogenesis. A high cholesterol diet is one of the significant reasons for the increasing incidence of hepatolithiasis.

Background: The occurrence of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) seemed to be associated with better outcomes in advanced gastric cancer (AGC) patients. However, research focusing on the impact of the single-organ irAE (uni-irAE) or multi-organ irAEs (multi-irAEs) on the AGC outcome is relatively limited. In this study, we investigated individually the impact of the different irAEs on AGC survival as well as the co-occurrence patterns of multi-irAEs.

This study evaluated the causal relationship between matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and pulmonary embolism using data from the genome-wide association study (GWAS) of pulmonary embolism from the UK Biobank and a GWAS dataset of MMPs based on 5,457 Icelanders aged 65 years and older. MR-Egger, MR-PRESSO, Cochran's Q, and leave-one-out were used for sensitivity analysis. The Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis, based on the IVW analysis, indicated an elevated risk for pulmonary embolism in association with MMP19 (OR = 1.

Esophageal cancer is a common and lethal digestive system malignancy, and both treatment efficacy and patient survival rates face significant challenges. In recent years, exosomes have emerged as crucial mediators of intercellular communication, demonstrating tremendous clinical potential, particularly in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognostic evaluation of esophageal cancer. These exosomes not only serve as biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis but also modulate tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance by delivering bioactive molecules.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a common cerebrovascular disease characterized by a high incidence, disability rate, and mortality. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a key catechin compound found in green tea, has received increasing attention for its potential neuroprotective and therapeutic effects in neurological disorders. Studies have indicated that EGCG may influence various signaling pathways and molecular targets, including the inhibition of oxidative stress, reduction of inflammatory responses, suppression of cell apoptosis, regulation of cell survival, and enhancement of autophagy.

Endometrial cancer is the most prevalent form of gynecologic malignancy, with a significant surge in incidence among youngsters. Although the advent of the immunotherapy era has profoundly improved patient outcomes, not all patients benefit from immunotherapy; some patients experience hyperprogression while on immunotherapy. Hence, there is a pressing need to further delineate the distinct immune response profiles in patients with endometrial cancer to enhance prognosis prediction and facilitate the prediction of immunotherapeutic responses.

Objective: This study compares the relationships between five anthropometric indices, a body shape index (ABSI), body roundness index (BRI), waist circumference (WC), body mass index (BMI) and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR), and hypertension, assessing their predictive capacities. The aim is to determine the specific numerical changes in hypertension incidence, systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) for each increase in standard deviation of these indices, and to identify the optimal predictive indicators for different populations, including the calculation of cutoff values.
Methods: This study used data from the NHANES datasets spanning 2007 to 2018.
