CRISPR based technologies have been used for fast and sensitive detection of pathogens. To test the possibility of CRISPR based detection strategy in Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, a combined method of recombinase polymerase amplification followed by Cas12a-mediated detection via fluorescence reader or lateral flow biosensor (named Cas12a-RCFL) has been established in this study. The Cas12a-RCFL can detect as low as 50 CFU/mL Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

Background: The current treatments for adjacent two-segment cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) include two-segment anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) and single-segment anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion (ACCF). Long-term follow-up has demonstrated that both procedures have complications such as reduced cervical mobility, accelerated degeneration of adjacent segments and loosening of internal fixation screws. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of anterior percutaneous full-endoscopic transcorporeal decompression of the spinal cord (APFETDSC) via one vertebra with two bony channels for the treatment of adjacent two-segment CSM and to present our surgical experience.

Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common malignancy diagnosed in men. Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) alone showed disappointing results in PCa. It is partly due to the formation of immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) could not be reversed effectively by ICB alone.

Background And Aim: Epstein-Barr virus-associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (EBV-HLH) and infectious mononucleosis (EBV-IM) share mimic symptoms in the early stages of childhood development. We aimed to examine the clinical features and laboratory indices of these two diseases in children and uncover unique indicators to assist pediatricians in identifying these diseases early.
Methods: We collected clinical data from 791 pediatric patients diagnosed with EBV-IM or EBV-HLH, compared the clinical traits and laboratory biomarkers presented in the two groups, and constructed predictive models based on them.

This can severely hamper the development of physiological learning and memory skills. Studies on the effects of anesthetics on NSCs' proliferation and differentiation are thus reviewed here, with the aim to highlight which specific drug mechanisms are the least harmful to NSCs.

Tanshinone IIA (Tan IIA), the core ingredient of Salvia miltiorrhiza, is commonly used for treating cardiovascular diseases. However, its underlying mechanism in regulating autophagy in atherosclerosis (AS) remains unclear. An in vivo model of AS was constructed using Apolipoprotein E-deficient (ApoE) mice fed with a high-fat diet.

Background And Purpose: Changes in the topological properties of brain functional network nodes during childhood and adolescence can provide more detailed and intuitive information on the rules of brain development. This study aims to explore the characteristics of nodal attributes in child and adolescent brain functional networks and analyze the correlation between nodal attributes in different brain regions and age.
Methods: Forty-two healthy volunteers aged 6-18 years who were right-handed primary and middle school students were recruited, and the subgroup analysis included children (6-12 years, n = 19) and adolescents (13-18 years, n = 23).

Background: Ketamine, an N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist, is widely used as a general anaesthetic. However, the mechanisms of analgesic/anaesthetic effects induced by ketamine are only partially understood. Previously, studies have demonstrated that various general anaesthetics affect the primary somatosensory cortex (S1), a potential target of general anaesthetics in the central nervous system.

Background: Fulminant hepatic failure (FHF) lacks efficient therapies notwithstanding increased comprehending of the inflammatory response and oxidative stress play crucial roles in the pathogenesis of this type of hepatic damage. Trilobatin (TLB), a naturally occurring food additive, is endowed with anti-inflammation and antioxidant properties.
Purpose: In current study, we evaluated the effect of TLB on FHF with a mouse model with d-galactosamine/lipopolysaccharide (GalN/LPS)-induced FHF and LPS-stimulated Kupffer cells (KCs) injury.

Objective: Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is a requisite technique for thoracotomy in advanced cardiovascular surgery. However, the consequent myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury (MIRI) is the primary culprit behind cardiac dysfunction and fatal consequences post-operation. Prior research has posited that myocardial insulin resistance (IR) plays a vital role in exacerbating the progression of MIRI.

Background: Severe infection often results in bacteremia, which significantly increases mortality rate. Different therapeutic strategies are employed depending on whether the blood-borne infection is Gram-negative (G) or Gram-positive (G). However, there is no risk prediction model for assessing whether bacteremia patients are infected with G or G pathogens.

Background: Uroseptic shock secondary to ureteral calculi during pregnancy is rare. It is characterized by rapid onset, rapid progression, aggressive disease, limited treatment, poor prognosis, and a mortality rate higher than 20% with improper or delayed management. A clear diagnosis is made based on typical clinical symptoms and abdominal ultrasound, often requiring combined multidisciplinary treatment and the simultaneous release of the obstruction.
