Tobacco carcinogens metabolism-related genes (TCMGs) could generate reactive metabolites of tobacco carcinogens, which subsequently contributed to multiple diseases. However, the association between genetic variants in TCMGs and bladder cancer susceptibility remains unclear. In this study, we derived TCMGs from metabolic pathways of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and tobacco-specific nitrosamines, and then explored genetic associations between TCMGs and bladder cancer risk in two populations: a Chinese population of 580 cases and 1101 controls, and a European population of 5930 cases and 5468 controls, along with interaction and joint analyses.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a highly heterogeneous neurodegenerative disorder with varying clinical subtypes. Recently, a novel classification called MNCD (Motor/Non-motor/Cognition/Dependency) has been proposed, which can also include staging based on disease severity. We aim to investigate which staging, the MNCD classification and staging or Hoehn and Yahr (H&Y) staging, exhibits a stronger correlation with the 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire (PDQ-39).

Cerebral aneurysm can rupture a blood vessel and cause bleeding in the brain. Microsurgical clipping of the tumor neck has been reported to be effective in treating cerebral aneurysm rupture and bleeding. This research attempted to clarify the clinical efficacy of early microsurgical clipping of tumor neck for treating cerebral aneurysm rupture and bleeding, and its impact on the prognosis of patients.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the most common pathological subtype of lung cancer and has a poor prognosis. Immune Checkpoint Blockage (ICB) have been shown to improve the survival of LUAD in the last decade. CD8 + T cell infiltration is significantly related to LUAD prognosis and plays a critical role in ICB response efficiency.

Background: HELLP syndrome, featuring hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and thrombocytopenia, is life-threatening disease of pregnancy that triggers comorbidities in both pregnant women and the fetus/newborn. This study provides an updated systematic review and meta-analysis of relevant studies to assess the therapeutic efficacy of corticosteroids in maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Methods: Randomized control trials (RCTs) regarding the use of corticosteroids in the HELLP population from three electronic databases, including Ovid MEDLINE, Ovid EMBASE, andCochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, were searched from database inception to 23 March 202323 March 2023.

HS6ST2 has ability to encodes a member of the heparan sulfate (HS) sulfotransferase gene family, which catalyze the transfer of sulfate to HS and a crucial regulator of cell growth, differentiation, adhesion, and migration. Although mounting evidence supports a vital role for HS6ST2 in tumorigenesis of some cancers, no pan-cancer analysis of HS6ST2 has been reported. Therefore, we aimed to explore the prognostic value of HS6ST2 in 33 cancer types and investigate its potential immune function.

Backgrounds: The available literature on the correlation between serum amyloid A (SAA) and prognosis of chronic kidney disease (CKD) are limited, and the findings from existing studies are inconclusive. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the available evidence regarding the link between SAA and risks of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in CKD patients. Additionally, we aimed to investigate the potential dose-response relationships, provided that adequate data is accessible.

Periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) are identified as candidate cells for the regeneration of periodontal and alveolar bone tissues. This research was to analyze the effect of methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3)-mediated m6A modification on the osteogenic differentiation of PDLSCs extracted from adult periodontal ligaments (PDLs) ex-vivo. From June 2022 to October 2022, 27 patients undergoing orthodontic treatment in our hospital were selected as the research population, with 31 teeth extracted in total.

Background: Accumulating evidence has revealed that the aspartate aminotransferase to alanine aminotransferase (AST/ALT) ratio is a promising novel biomarker for insulin resistance (IR) and metabolic diseases. However, research on the association between the AST/ALT ratio and the incidence of diabetes progressing from prediabetes remains lacking. Herein, this study aimed to evaluate the relationship between the baseline AST/ALT ratio and risks of diabetes in patients with prediabetes.
