Methods: Forty-nine college students (34 females; Mage = 23.
The current study examines the relationship between polyvictimization and academic performance in college across gender and sexual identity. Participants were from the Spring 2019 administration of the American College Health Association's National College Health Assessment-II. Multinomial logistic regression models and negative binomial regression models with and without interaction terms were used to explore if gender and sexual identity are related to academic performance, and if they are differentially related to academic performance when experiencing polyvictimization.

Accurate estimation of atmospheric chemical concentrations from multiple observations is crucial for assessing the health effects of air pollution. However, existing methods are limited by imbalanced samples from observations. Here, we introduce a novel deep-learning model-measurement fusion method (DeepMMF) constrained by physical laws inferred from a chemical transport model (CTM) to estimate NO concentrations over the Continental United States (CONUS).

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of noise exposure on otolith function measures of video ocular counter roll (vOCR), ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potential (oVEMP), cervical VEMP (cVEMP), and subjective visual vertical (SVV). Additionally, this study compared the vOCR results with other otolith function measures: cVEMP, oVEMP, and SVV.
Method: This was a cross-sectional, between-group prospective study that compared otolith function tests between noise exposure groups.

In a patient with a history of lumbar spine surgery, the management of refractory low back pain may prove challenging. Advancing neuromodulatory techniques and technologies offer the promise of significant and sustained relief in these patients, though prior literature is limited. We present a case of peripheral nerve stimulation at the lumbar medial branches in a woman with chronic axial low back pain following a three-level laminectomy.

The esthetics of immediate implant dentistry can be challenging. Clinical considerations for immediate implant placement have demonstrated long-term success rates comparable to traditional delayed implant protocols. However, it is a sensitive technique that requires proper treatment planning as well as meticulous execution to be predictable and successful in the long term.

Purpose: Telemedicine is widely used for diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, and other ophthalmic diseases. However, there is limited research on the use of teleophthalmology in retinoblastoma. The goal of this study was to explore how Orbis Cybersight affected the capacity for treatment and management of children with retinoblastoma through online mentorship and to assess the efficacy of online mentoring through disease-specific knowledge change over time.

Hodgkin's lymphoma is a malignancy of the lymphatic system that can rarely present with advanced-stage features such as spinal cord involvement and hypercalcemia. We present the case of a 63-year-old Caucasian male with advanced Hodgkin's lymphoma, presenting with hypercalcemia and symptoms resembling normal pressure hydrocephalus. The patient exhibited gait impairment, altered mental status, and urinary incontinence, forming the classic triad seen in normal pressure hydrocephalus.

Harvey Jules Karten passed away on July 15, 2024. With his passing, the world lost a remarkable and energetic man who had made major contributions to neuroscience, in particular, resetting our understanding of the evolution of the forebrain and the evolution of intelligence. He left behind a legion of loyal colleagues with whom he had collaborated and shared ideas, students he had inspired and trained, and non-neuroscientist friends he had made in the passionate pursuit of his hobbies-sailing, skiing, and hiking.

Sexual grooming, exacerbated by increased internet and social media usage , is a growing concern. Past researchers have found differences in perceptions of sexual grooming based on gender-pairing, perpetrator attractiveness, as well as perpetrator and victim age and gender. Our study extends this research by exploring how the attractiveness of the perpetrator and their relationship to the victim - specifically, whether they are a teacher, religious leader, or family friend - affects perceived grooming severity and recommended legal response.

Animal health and veterinary medicine are integral to One Health, contributing important perspectives on complex challenges arising at the human-animal-environment interface. The published Competency-Based Veterinary Education (CBVE) framework dedicates a domain of competence and three associated sub-competencies to public health (Domain 4). However, a panel of One Health scientists sought to establish additional outcomes believed necessary to support core veterinary curricula related to veterinary public health (VPH)/One Health.
