Background: Post-stroke lateropulsion is prevalent and has been associated with varied lesion locations, but existing imaging studies are limited by small participant cohorts. Evidence to guide lateropulsion rehabilitation is also limited. Improved understanding of lesion localization associated with lateropulsion post-stroke may inform more targeted intervention approaches.

Objective: To evaluate the construct validity (structural validity and hypothesis testing), reliability (test-retest reliability, measurement error and internal consistency) and minimal important change (MIC) of the 13-item TENDINopathy Severity assessment-Achilles (TENDINS-A).
Methods: Participants with Achilles pain completed an online survey including: demographics, TENDINS-A, Foot and Ankle Outcome Score (FAOS) and Victorian Institute of Sport Assessment-Achilles (VISA-A). Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) assessed dimensionality.

Introduction: The Kimberley region of Western Australia (WA) is classified by the Modified Monash Model as MM6 & 7 ('Remote/Very Remote'). Many physiotherapists in the Kimberley are considered 'rural generalists' and require a diverse set of clinical and non-clinical skills to work successfully within this setting.
Objective: To understand physiotherapists' perspectives regarding job satisfaction within the Kimberley region a 'rural and remote' areas of Australia.

High-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) is genetically unstable and characterised by the presence of subclones with distinct genotypes. Intratumoural heterogeneity is linked to recurrence, chemotherapy resistance, and poor prognosis. Here, we use spatial transcriptomics to identify HGSOC subclones and study their association with infiltrating cell populations.

Background: Post-stroke lateropulsion is prevalent and associated with poor rehabilitation outcomes; however, data regarding long-term function associated with lateropulsion are lacking.
Objectives: This study aimed to explore lateropulsion resolution and associations between lateropulsion, functional outcomes, and fall occurrence up to 12 months post-stroke.
Methods: Participants for this prospective, longitudinal cohort study were recruited from a Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (SRU).

Background: The independent effect of pulmonary hypertension (PHT) severity on mortality in those with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) is not well known.
Objectives: The authors aimed to examine the prognostic impact of increasingly elevated pulmonary pressures in a large clinical cohort of adults with reduced LVEF.
Methods: The authors analyzed data from the National Echocardiography Database of Australia, a large clinical registry linking routine echocardiographic investigations to mortality.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is one of the deadliest cancers. Late presentation of disease at the time of diagnosis is one of the major reasons for dismal prognostic outcomes for PDAC patients. Currently, there is a lack of clinical biomarkers, which can be used to diagnose PDAC patients at an early resectable stage.

Objective: To estimate the prevalence of long COVID among Western Australian adults, a highly vaccinated population whose first major exposure to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was during the 2022 Omicron wave, and to assess its impact on health service use and return to work or study.
Study Design: Follow-up survey (completed online or by telephone).
Setting, Participants: Adult Western Australians surveyed 90 days after positive SARS-CoV-2 test results (polymerase chain reaction or rapid antigen testing) during 16 July - 3 August 2022 who had consented to follow-up contact for research purposes.

Multiple acyl-coenzyme A dehydrogenase deficiency (MADD) is a rare metabolic disorder which typically manifests with muscle weakness. However, despite late-onset MADD being treatable, it is often misdiagnosed, due in part to the heterogeneity of presentations. We report a case of late-onset MADD manifesting first as a sensory neuropathy before progressing to myopathic symptoms and acute metabolic decompensation.

For deep partial-thickness burns no consensus on the optimal treatment has been reached due to conflicting study outcomes with low quality evidence. Treatment options in high- and middle-income countries include conservative treatment with delayed excision and grafting if needed; and early excision and grafting. The majority of timing of surgery studies focus on survival rather than on quality of life.

Despite availability of medicines and guidelines for healthcare providers for the optimal management of AR, optimisation of its management in the community continues to be elusive. The reasons for this are multi-faceted and include both environmental and healthcare related factors.

Introduction: Despite the challenges of providing burn care throughout the 2.5MKm jurisdiction of Western Australia, early intervention after injury remains a key premise of the multidisciplinary model of care applied by the State Adult Burn Unit (SABU) team. In particular, contemporary guidelines support the facilitation of early ambulation after lower limb burn and skin grafting.

Introduction: Calcium channel blockers (CCB), a commonly prescribed antihypertensive (AHT) medicine, may be associated with increased risk of breast cancer. The proposed study aims to examine whether long-term CCB use is associated with the development of breast cancer and to characterise the dose-response nature of any identified association, to inform future hypertension management.
Methods And Analysis: The study will use data from 2 of Australia's largest cohort studies; the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health, and the 45 and Up Study, combined with the Rotterdam Study.

Objective: Life expectancy and rates of premature death are fundamental markers of health and social equity globally, and measures on which people experiencing homelessness face enormous disparities. However, unlike for other population groups with similar disparities, concerted government action to reduce homeless mortality is rare, partly due to a lack of reliable, timely data. Contemporaneous tracking of homeless deaths is required to render such deaths less invisible and measure trends over time.

Introduction: In rural areas, work-integrated learning in the form of health student placements has several potential benefits, including contributing to student learning, enhancing rural health service capacity and attracting future rural health workforce. Understanding what constitutes a high-quality rural placement experience is important for enhancing these outcomes. There is no current standardised definition of quality in the context of rural health placements, nor is there understanding of how this can be achieved across different rural contexts.

The clinical landscape of lymphomas has changed dramatically over the last 2 decades, including significant progress made in the understanding and utilization of imaging modalities and the available treatment options for both indolent and aggressive lymphomas. Since the introduction of hybrid PET/CT scanners in 2001, the indications of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/CT in the management of lymphomas have grown rapidly. In today's clinical practice, FDG PET/CT is used in successful management of the vast majority patients with lymphomas.
