Plants acquire phosphorus (P) primarily as inorganic phosphate (Pi) from the soil. Under Pi deficiency, plants induce an array of physiological and morphological responses, termed phosphate starvation response (PSR), thereby increasing Pi acquisition and use efficiency. However, the mechanisms by which plants adapt to Pi deficiency remain to be elucidated.

Background: The use of digital tools such as electronic patient portals in different health care disciplines and settings has been increasing, but the rate of implementation in clinical practice still lags behind expectations. While studies have linked the use of electronic patient portals to positive health outcomes for patients, studies addressing the viewpoints of healthcare providers are rare.
Methods: We performed an online survey of attitudes of healthcare providers towards an electronic patient portal for mental health hospitals.

Background: Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a common chronic respiratory disease associated with a high burden of disabilities related to sleepiness and reduced quality of life. Despite first-line treatment with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, many patients experience residual excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS). The aim of this study is to compare the relative efficacy and safety of medications authorised for this indication in Europe and/or the United States (modafinil/armodafinil, solriamfetol, and pitolisant) for OSA.

Background: Web-based self-help (WASH) has been found to be effective in the treatment of child externalizing behavior disorders. However, research on the associations of caregivers' use of WASH and symptom changes of child externalizing behaviors is lacking.
Objective: This study examined the longitudinal and reciprocal associations between the use of WASH by caregivers of children with externalizing behavior disorders and their children's externalizing behavior symptoms.

Introduction: The trend toward personalized medicine leads to very small study cohorts for clinical trials, which makes it difficult to recruit patients in a single study center. On the other hand, the administrative effort required to initiate a clinical trial is very high. As a result, Germany runs the risk of falling behind other countries as a trial location.

Background: Liver diseases of infectious and non-infectious etiology cause considerable morbidity and mortality, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). However, data on the prevalence of liver diseases and underlying risk factors in LMICs are scarce. The objective of this study was to elucidate the occurrence of infectious diseases among individuals with chronic liver damage in a rural setting of Côte d'Ivoire.

Aims: Subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (S-ICDs) have become established in preventing sudden cardiac death, with some advantages over transvenous defibrillator systems, including a lower incidence of lead failures. Despite technological advancements, S-ICD carriers may suffer from significant complications, such as premature battery depletion (PBD), that led to an advisory for nearly 40 000 patients. This multicentre study evaluated the incidence of PBD in a large set of S-ICD patients.

Aims: Subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (S-ICDs) offer potentially distinct advantages over transvenous defibrillator systems. Recent randomized trials showed significantly lower lead failure rates than transvenous ICD. Still, S-ICDs remain associated with the risk of inappropriate shocks (IAS).
