Background: The relationship between the extent and severity of stress-induced ischemia and the extent and severity of anatomic coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with obstructive CAD is multifactorial and includes the intensity of stress achieved, type of testing used, presence and extent of prior infarction, collateral blood flow, plaque characteristics, microvascular disease, coronary vasomotor tone, and genetic factors. Among chronic coronary disease participants with site-determined moderate or severe ischemia, we investigated associations between ischemia severity on stress testing and the extent of CAD on coronary computed tomography angiography.
Methods: Clinically indicated stress testing included nuclear imaging, echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, or nonimaging exercise tolerance test.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify trajectories of physical activity behavior from discharge up to 6-8 years after rehabilitation among adults with physical disabilities and/or chronic diseases, and to determine modifiable determinants associated with trajectory membership.
Material And Methods: 390 Adults with physical disabilities and/or chronic diseases participated in the Rehabilitation, Sports and Active lifestyle (ReSpAct) 2.0 study with measurements at 3-6 weeks before discharge (T0), and 14 (T1), 33 (T2), and 52 weeks (T3), and 6-8 years (T4) after discharge from rehabilitation.

Methods: A secondary analysis of data collected from 2010 to 2012 using the Action-Project Method was conducted.

Close social ties are important for health but these can decline as people age. Moreover, losses of close social ties may be worse for women, older age and low socioeconomic groups. We characterized alterations in both marital status or living arrangement over 6 years by gender, and assessed patterns by age, country of origin, geographic location, education, wealth, and household income.

During periods of stomatal closure, such as drought, plant leaves continue to lose water at a rate determined by the minimum leaf conductance, g. Although g varies with temperature, less is known about what drives this variation, including how the pathways of water loss (cuticle or stomata) vary with temperature. We used gas exchange and bench drying methods to measure g and cuticular conductance, g, across a wide temperature range (20-50°C) in 11 broadleaf species.

Fieldwork educators and university academic coordinators who arrange fieldwork placements work with university accessibility services and students to arrange required accommodations, while preserving confidentiality, maintaining high learning standards, and ensuring attainment of professional competencies. This work is complicated by time pressures and heavy caseloads in fieldwork settings.

Modern molecular imaging routes, such as nuclear imaging and optical imaging, derive significant advantages from nanoparticles, where multimodality use and multipurpose are key benefits. Nanoparticles also showcase benefits over traditional imaging agents in nuclear and optical imaging, including improved resolution, penetration, and specificity. The goal of this literature review was to explore recent advancements in nanomaterials within these molecular imaging techniques to expand on the current state of nanomedicine in these modalities.

Hydrogels have considerably emerged in a variety of fields, but their weak mechanical properties severely restrict the wide range of implementation. Herein, we propose a multiscale hydrogen bonding toughening strategy using saccharide-based materials to optimize the hydrogel network. The monosaccharide (glucose) at the molecular scale and polysaccharide (cellulose nanofibrils) at the nano/micro scale can effectively form hydrogen bonds across varied scales within the hydrogel network, leading to significantly enhanced mechanical properties.

Background: Randomized-clinical trials (RCTs) are the gold-standard for comparing health care interventions, but can be limited by early termination, feasibility issues, and prolonged time to trial reporting. Adaptive clinical trials (ACTs), which are defined by pre-planned modifications and analyses that occur after starting patient recruitment, are gaining popularity as they can streamline trial design and time to reporting. As adaptive methodologies continue to be adopted by researchers, it will be critical to develop a risk of bias tool that evaluates the unique methodological features of ACTs so that their quality can be improved and standardized for the future.

Glucose electrocatalytic-conversion reaction (GCR) is a promising anode reaction to replace the slow oxygen evolution reaction (OER), thus promoting the development of hydrogen production by electrochemical water splitting. Herein, NiFe-based metal-organic framework (MOF) is used as a precursor to prepare W-doped nickel-iron phosphide (W-NiFeP) nanosheet arrays by ion exchange and phosphorylation, which exhibit a high electrocatalytic activity toward the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), featuring an overpotential of only -179 mV to achieve the current density of 100 mA cm in alkaline media. Notably, electrochemical activation of W-NiFeP facilitates the in situ formation of phosphate groups producing W,P-NiFeOOH, which, in conjunction with the W co-doped amorphous layers, leads to a high electrocatalytic performance toward GCR, due to enhanced proton transfer and adsorption of reaction intermediates, as confirmed in experimental and theoretical studies.

Introduction: Mental health and well-being is a relatively under-researched area in rugby, especially outside the elite men's game. Evidence suggests that physical activity and sports benefit mental health and well-being, and rugby provides health-enhancing moderate-to-vigorous physical activity.
Objective: This cross-sectional study used an online approach and engaged national rugby governing bodies to understand adult rugby players' mental health and well-being and increase the diversity of the current evidence base.

Aims: Fifteen years ago, we published an article in seeking to resolve the contentious debate between advocates of two very different frameworks for understanding and addressing the mental health needs of conflict-affected populations. The two approaches, which we labelled and , reflect deeply held beliefs about the causes and nature of distress in war-affected communities. Drawing on the burgeoning literature on armed conflict and mental health, the reports of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) staff in the field, and on research on the psychology and psychophysiology of stress, we proposed an integrative model that drew on the strengths of both frameworks and underscored their essential complementarity.

Background: The effect of a liberal red-cell transfusion strategy as compared with a restrictive strategy in patients during the critical care period after an aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage is unclear.
Methods: We randomly assigned critically ill adults with acute aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage and anemia to a liberal strategy (mandatory transfusion at a hemoglobin level of ≤10 g per deciliter) or a restrictive strategy (optional transfusion at a hemoglobin level of ≤8 g per deciliter). The primary outcome was an unfavorable neurologic outcome, defined as a score of 4 or higher on the modified Rankin scale (range, 0 to 6, with higher scores indicating greater disability) at 12 months.
