Treatment of acromioclavicular dislocations with a concomitant coracoid fracture: a systematic review of 37 patients.

Background: Acromioclavicular (AC) dislocations with a concomitant fracture of the coracoid process (CP) are rare and there is ambiguity on treatment options. This systematic review was performed to address the clinically relevant question: what are the shoulder functions, union rates, and expected time until return to daily life in patients with a dislocation of the AC joint with a concomitant CP fracture after (1) nonsurgical treatment, (2) sole fixation of the AC joint, and (3) fixation of both the AC joint and the coracoid process?

Methods: Studies were identified by conducting an online. Thirty records met the inclusion criteria and were suitable for data extraction.

Background: Biodynamic signatures (temporal patterns of microscopic motion within a 3-dimensional tumor explant) offer phenomic biomarkers that are highly predictive for therapeutic response.

Objective: By utilizing motility contrast tomography, which provides a simple, fast assessment of motion patterns in living tissue, we evaluated the predictive accuracy of a biodynamic drug response classifier in muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) patients undergoing neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC).

Design, Setting, And Participants: One hundred five consecutive bladder cancer patients suspected of having MIBC were screened in a multi-institutional prospective observational study (NCT03739177) from July 2018 to June 2020, of whom, 30 completed NAC and radical cystectomy.

We applied quantitative 3D computed tomography to 50 complete articular AO type C fractures of the distal radius and tested the null hypothesis that fracture fragments can be divided according to Melone's concept (radial styloid and volar and dorsal lunate facet fragments) and that each fragment has similar (1) displacement and (2) articular surface area. Thirty-eight fractures fit the Melone distribution of fragments. Radial styloid fragments were most displaced, and volar lunate fragments were least displaced.

Enthesopathy of the extensor carpi radialis brevis origin, generally known as tennis elbow, is a common condition arising in middle-aged persons. The diagnosis is typically clear based on the patient interview and physical examination alone; therefore, imaging and other diagnostic tests are usually unnecessary. The natural history of the disorder is spontaneous resolution, but it can last for >1 year.

The thermally induced conformational switching of a stacked dialkxoynaphthalene-naphthalenetetracarboxylic diimide (DAN-NDI) amphiphilic foldamer to an NDI-NDI fibril aggregate is described. The aggregated fibril structures were explored by UV/Vis, circular dichroism (CD), atomic-force microscopy (AFM), and TEM techniques. Our findings indicate that the aromatic DAN-NDI interactions of the original foldamer undergoes transformation to a fibrillar assembly with aromatic NDI-NDI stacked interactions.
