Purpose: The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) is a hematological marker that reflects the immune status of the body. This study was designed to evaluate the prognostic significance of the baseline SII in HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC) patients receiving chemotherapy plus trastuzumab without or with pertuzumab.

Methods: Data were collected from 774 patients from the CLEOPATRA trial, 196 patients from the H0648G trial, and 229 patients from six clinical centers in China.

Background: Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) is a new machine learning tool that allows patients to access health information online, specifically compared to Google, the most commonly used search engine in the United States. Patients can use ChatGPT to better understand medical issues. This study compared the two search engines based on: (i) frequently asked questions (FAQs) about Femoroacetabular Impingement Syndrome (FAI), (ii) the corresponding answers to these FAQs, and (iii) the most FAQs yielding a numerical response.

Article Synopsis
  • This study evaluates how the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR) at baseline affects the survival outcomes in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer treated with trastuzumab and pertuzumab.
  • The research analyzed data from 1,028 patients, using methods like propensity score matching to ensure unbiased results, and found that a lower NLR correlates with improved progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).
  • The findings suggest that having a low baseline NLR is a significant predictor of better survival outcomes in these patients, reinforcing its potential use as a prognostic indicator in clinical settings.

Acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) is a life-threatening vascular disease. We report a case of ATAAD treated with interventional therapy using 3D-printing assisted pre-windowing coated stent combined with in situ window-opening technology. There were few complications and the patient experienced an uneventful recovery.

BACKGROUND Compared with normal postmenopausal women, estrogen deficiency and hyperglycemia in postmenopausal women with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) lead to more severe bone property degradation. Liraglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, has been reported to improve bone condition among people with T2DM but the precise mechanisms remain unclear. Exosomes work as mediators in cell-to-cell communication, delivering functional miRNAs between cells.
