Department of Gastroenterology, The Third Clinical Institute Affiliated to Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou People's Hospital, Wenzhou325035, China.

Ageing is defined as the degeneration of physiological functions in numerous tissues and organs of an organism, which occurs with age. As we age, the gut undergoes a series of changes and weaknesses that may contribute to overall ageing. Emerging evidence suggests that β-nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) plays a role in regulating intestinal function, but there is still a lack of literature on its role in maintaining the colon health of ageing mice.

JACC Cardiovasc Interv

October 2023

Department of Cardiology, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine, State Key Laboratory of Transvascular Implantation Devices, Hangzhou, China. Electronic address:

Article Synopsis
  • A recent trial shows that using fractional flow reserve (FFR) for PCI is just as good as using intracoronary ultrasound (IVUS) but results in fewer procedures.
  • This study analyzed how sex affects treatment decisions and outcomes in PCI, particularly looking at the differences between men and women concerning procedural characteristics and rates of target vessel failure (TVF) at 24 months.
  • Findings indicate that women had better outcomes and lower rates of TVF, even with fewer interventions, while both FFR and IVUS strategies produced similar results in terms of clinical outcomes for both sexes.
