Background: At present, preterm infants with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in China present higher mortality and morbidity rates than those in high-income countries. The aim of this nationwide survey was to assess the clinical management of RDS in China.

Methods: A nationwide cross-sectional survey to assess adherence to RDS management recommendations was performed.

This study was aimed to investigate the impact of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) on reproductive outcomes in couples with non-male factor infertility and frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) treatment. This retrospective cohort study involved a total of 10,143 cycles from 6206 couples who underwent FET at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between January 2016 and September 2022. Patients were categorized into two groups based on the insemination methods of transferred embryos.

Decoding the pathogenesis of spermatogenic failure in cryptorchidism through single-cell transcriptomic profiling.

Cryptorchidism, commonly known as undescended testis, affects 1%-9% of male newborns, posing infertility and testis tumor risks. Despite its prevalence, the detailed pathophysiology underlying male infertility within cryptorchidism remains unclear. Here, we profile and analyze 46,644 single-cell transcriptomes from individual testicular cells obtained from adult males diagnosed with cryptorchidism and healthy controls.

Aim: In this study we aimed to explore the central pathological mechanism underlying EA in treating PE.

Methods: Six-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into a PE group (n = 8) and a control group (n = 8) according to ejaculatory frequency during copulatory behavior.

Aim: The purpose of the study was to investigate and analyse inner strength of patients with peritoneal dialysis, explore the associations among inner strength, coping self-efficacy (CSE) and medial coping modes.

Design: This was a cross-sectional study which was conducted in nephrology departments of two affiliated hospitals of a comprehensive university in China. Convenience sampling was chosen to collect data.

Role of the lncRNA/Wnt signaling pathway in digestive system cancer: a literature review.

The long noncoding RNA (lncRNA)/Wingless (Wnt) axis is often dysregulated in digestive system tumors impacting critical cellular processes. Abnormal expression of specific Wnt-related lncRNAs such as LINC01606 (promotes motility), SLCO4A1-AS1 (promotes motility), and SH3BP5-AS1 (induces chemoresistance), plays a crucial role in these malignancies. These lncRNAs are promising targets for cancer diagnosis and therapy, offering new treatment perspectives.

NSUN2-mediated RNA methylation: Molecular mechanisms and clinical relevance in cancer.

Cancer remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, necessitating the ongoing investigation of molecular targets for improved diagnosis, prognosis, and therapy. Among these targets, RNA modifications, particularly N5-methylcytosine (m5C) in RNA, have emerged as critical regulators of gene expression and cellular functions. NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase family member 2 (NSUN2) is a key enzyme in m5C modification, significantly influencing various biological processes and tumorigenesis.

Female urinary incontinence in China after 15 years' efforts: Results from large-scale nationwide surveys.

Urinary incontinence (UI) is a disease that quietly yet seriously impacts women's health and represents a global health burden that is often neglected. This study aims to systematically assess the prevalence and dynamics of female UI in China, and can inform further policies and have international implications. This study used three nationwide investigations: A national cross-sectional survey in 2021; another nationwide cross-sectional survey in 2006; and data regarding the institutions and physicians providing pelvic floor rehabilitation services from 2005 to 2019.

The landscape of RNA binding proteins in mammalian spermatogenesis.

Despite continuous expansion of the RNA binding protein (RBP) world, there is a lack of systematic understanding of RBPs in the mammalian testis, which harbors one of the most complex tissue transcriptomes. We adapted RNA interactome capture to mouse male germ cells, building an RBP atlas characterized by multiple layers of dynamics along spermatogenesis. Trapping of RNA-cross-linked peptides showed that the glutamic acid-arginine (ER) patch, a residue-coevolved polyampholytic element present in coiled coils, enhances RNA binding of its host RBPs.

Introduction: Numerous studies have demonstrated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is one of the malignancies with high mortality worldwide. Immunogenic cell death (ICD) is a form of cell death that is specialised in that it triggers the body's immune response, particularly the adaptive immune response. Recent evidence has confirmed that pseudogenes are implicated in multiple human tumorigenesis and progression although lacking the function of coding protein.

HDAC1 and FOXK1 mediate EGFR-TKI resistance of non-small cell lung cancer through miR-33a silencing.

Background: The development of acquired EGFR-TKI treatment resistance is still a major clinical challenge in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This study aimed to investigate the role of HDAC1/FOXK1/miR-33a signaling in EGFR-TKI resistance.

Methods: The expression levels of miR-33a, HDAC1, and FOXK1 were examined using quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and bioinformatics analysis.

MCM8-mediated mitophagy protects vascular health in response to nitric oxide signaling in a mouse model of Kawasaki disease.

Mitophagy is a major quality control pathway that removes unwanted or dysfunctional mitochondria and plays an essential role in vascular health. Here we show that MCM8 expression is significantly decreased in children with Kawasaki disease (KD) who developed coronary artery aneurysms. Mechanistically, we discovered that nitric oxide signaling promotes TRIM21-mediated MCM8 ubiquitination, which disrupts its interaction with MCM9 and promotes its cytosolic export.

Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors are a novel class of antitumor drugs developed to solve these intractable problems based on the mechanism of DNA damage repair, which have been widely applied in the treatment of ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and other cancers through inducing synthetic lethal effect and trapping PARP-DNA complex in BRCA gene mutated cancer cells. In recent years, PARP inhibitors have been widely used in combination with various first-line chemotherapy drugs, targeted drugs and immune checkpoint inhibitors to expand the scope of clinical application.

Mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles in joint diseases: Therapeutic effects and underlying mechanisms.

Joint diseases greatly impact the daily lives and occupational functioning of patients globally. However, conventional treatments for joint diseases have several limitations, such as unsatisfatory efficacy and side effects, necessitating the exploration of more efficacious therapeutic strategies. Predicting neurodevelopmental outcomes in extremely preterm neonates with low-grade germinal matrix-intraventricular hemorrhage using synthetic MRI.

Objectives: This study aims to assess the predictive capability of synthetic MRI in assessing neurodevelopmental outcomes for extremely preterm neonates with low-grade Germinal Matrix-Intraventricular Hemorrhage (GMH-IVH). The study also investigates the potential enhancement of predictive performance by combining relaxation times from different brain regions.

Materials And Methods: In this prospective study, 80 extremely preterm neonates with GMH-IVH underwent synthetic MRI around 38 weeks, between January 2020 and June 2022.

Clinical predictive value of pre-pregnancy tests for unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion: a retrospective study.

Introduction: Early prediction and intervention are crucial for the prognosis of unexplained recurrent spontaneous abortion (uRSA). The main purpose of this study is to establish a risk prediction model for uRSA based on routine pre-pregnancy tests, in order to provide clinical physicians with indications of whether the patients are at high risk.

Methods: This was a retrospective study conducted at the Prenatal Diagnosis Center of Henan Provincial People's Hospital between January 2019 and December 2022.
