The early start Denver model (ESDM) has been extensively studied as a promising early intervention approach for young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Various methodological drawbacks from earlier ESDM investigations must be rectified to expand the application scopes. For this purpose, the present study recruited a very large sample of 249 autistic children (aged 24-47 months), and used a randomized controlled design to compare outcomes from a mixed ESDM (M-ESDM) intervention with a mixed discrete trial teaching (M-DTT) intervention which remains one of the most commonly-used programming for early intervention.

Background: To develop an ultrasound scoring system for placenta accreta spectrum (PAS), evaluate its diagnostic value, and provide a practical approach to prenatal diagnosis of PAS.
Methods: A total of 532 pregnant women (n = 184 no PAS, n = 120 placenta accreta, n = 189 placenta increta, n = 39 placenta percreta) at high-risk for placenta accreta who delivered in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University between January 2021 and December 2022 underwent prenatal ultrasound to evaluate placental invasion. An ultrasound scoring system that included placental and cervical morphology and history of cesarean section was created.

Dysregulation of various cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) causes immunosuppressive functions and aggressive tumor growth. In combination with immune checkpoint blockade (ICB), epigenetic modification-targeted drugs are emerging as attractive cancer treatments. Lysine-specific demethylase 1 (LSD1) is a protein that modifies histone and non-histone proteins and is known to influence a wide variety of physiological processes.

A total of 5 605 cycles of frozen-thawed single blastocyst transfer in the reproductive center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2017 to June 2021 were retrospectively collected. After the failure of first embryo transfer, all patients underwent hysteroscopy, and when necessary, endometrial pathology and immunohistochemistry were combined to diagnose CE.

The available evidence on the effects of ambient fine particulate matter (PM) and pregnancy outcomes (birth outcomes and pregnancy complications) has increased substantially. The purpose of this umbrella review is to refine the evidence of the association between birth outcome (birth defects) and PM; and summarize the credibility of existing research on the association between pregnancy complications and PM. We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane databases for relevant systematic reviews and meta-analyses up to March 16, 2022 in accordance with PRISMA guidelines.

The way that males and females react to environmental exposures and negative impacts on their neurological systems is often different. Although previous research has examined the cognitively impairing effects of solitary metal exposures, the relationship between metal mixtures and cognitive function, particularly when considering an individual's sex, remains elusive. This study aimed to investigate the sex differences in the association between multiple metal combinations and cognitive function in older Americans.

Cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, aneurysm, thrombosis, and hypertension, are a great economic burden and threat to human health and are the major cause of death worldwide. Recently, researchers have begun to appreciate the role of microbial ecosystems within the human body in contributing to metabolic and cardiovascular disorders. Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that the gut microbiota is closely associated with the occurrence and development of cardiovascular diseases.

Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), the most abundant non-tumor cell population in the glioma microenvironment, play a crucial role in immune evasion and immunotherapy resistance of glioblastoma (GBM). However, the regulatory mechanism of the immunosuppressive TME of GBM remains unclear. Bioinformatics were used to analyse the potential role of ferritin light chain (FTL) in GBM immunology and explore the effects of FTL on the reprogramming of the GBM immune microenvironment and GBM progression.

To investigate the effects of high risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) and duration of embryo cryopreservation on perinatal outcomes of the first frozen-thawed cycle after whole embryo cryopreservation. The clinical data of 1 804 patients who underwent the first frozen-thawed cycle after whole embryo cryopreservation and achieved singleton live births in the Reproductive Center of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from January 2016 to June 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. According to whether there was high risk of OHSS in the oocyte retrieval cycle, the patients were divided into high-risk group (=790) and non-high-risk group (=1 014).

Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is characterized by low lean mass without vertebral deformity. The cause-and-effect relationship between scoliosis and paraspinal muscle imbalance has long puzzled researchers. Although FTO has been identified as a susceptibility gene for AIS, its potential role in the asymmetry of paraspinal muscles has not been fully elucidated.

The interleukin-1 receptor associated kinase 4 (IRAK-4) is a member of serine-threonine kinase family, which plays an important role in the regulation of interleukin-1 receptors (IL-1R) and Toll-like receptors (TLRs) related signaling pathways. At present, the IRAK-4 mediated inflammation and related signaling pathways contribute to inflammation, which are also responsible for other autoimmune diseases and drug resistance in cancers. Therefore, targeting IRAK-4 to develop single-target, multi-target inhibitors and proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) degraders is an important direction for the treatment of inflammation and related diseases.

Background And Objectives: Previous studies suggested that long-term exposure to ambient fine particulate matter (PM) is associated with increased risk of stroke. However, limited studies evaluated the stroke burden attributable to ambient PM globally, especially comprising across different regions, countries, and social-economic levels. We thus conducted this study to estimate the spatial and temporal trends of ambient PM-related stroke burden by sex, age, and subtypes from 1990 to 2019 at global, regional, and national levels.

Background: Parental burnout is a concept that reflects the emotional exhaustion and emotional distance of parents from children due to their inability to cope with the pressure of parenting. It has been confirmed that parents of autistic children are at higher risk for parental burnout. Additional research has suggested a relationship between parental burnout and parents' personality traits.
