Background: Factors influencing health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and financial toxicity (FT) have been found to overlap, and the robust correlation between HRQoL and FT raises the possibility that FT mediates the relationships between the shared risk factors and HRQoL. However, empirical evidence supporting this hypothesis is limited.
Objective: This study aimed to explore whether FT mediates the relationships between HRQoL and its risk factors.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the nine most widely studied Vonoprazan (VPZ)-based treatment regimens along with traditional Proton pump inhibitor (PPI)-based treatment regimens in eradicating Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection.
Design: Through searching PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, we exclusively included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to investigate the efficacy of VPZ-based and PPI-based therapies for H.

Background: Current treatment modalities for spontaneous esophageal perforation remain controversial because of their rarity.
Objective: To describe our institution's experience in managing patients with spontaneous esophageal rupture and conduct a meta-analysis of existing studies to determine the best evidence-based treatment options.
Methods: We enrolled patients with spontaneous esophageal rupture who underwent their first treatment at our institution.
Objective: We assessed financial toxicity (FT) among Chinese patients with cancer and investigated associated risk factors guided by a multilevel conceptual framework.
Methods: Applying multistage stratified sampling, we selected six tertiary and six secondary hospitals across three economically diverse provinces in China. From February to October 2022, 1208 patients with cancer participated.

In this work, positively charged -carbazoleacetic acid decorated CuO nanoparticles (CuO-CAA NPs) as novel biocompatible nanozymes have been successfully prepared through a one-step hydrothermal method. CuO-CAA can serve as a self-cascading platform through effective GSH-OXD-like and POD-like activities, and the former can induce continuous generation of HO through the catalytic oxidation of overexpressed GSH in the bacterial infection microenvironment, which in turn acts as a substrate for the latter to yield ˙OH Fenton-like reaction, without introducing exogenous HO. Upon NIR irradiation, CuO-CAA NPs possess a high photothermal conversion effect, which can further improve the enzymatic activity for increasing the production rate of HO and ˙OH.

Background: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common reproductive-endocrine condition in premenopausal women. Troxerutin, a common clinical anti-coagulant agent, was shown to work as a strong IL-22 boosting agent counteracting the hyperactivated gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) neurons and heightened GnRH release, the neuroendocrine origin of PCOS with unknown mechanism in rats. Exploring the off-label use of troxerutin medication for PCOS is thus sorely needed.

In this work, we successfully constructed Mn-coordinated nitrogen-carbon nanoparticles (Mn-N-C NPs) exhibiting multienzyme-like activities. In a bacterial infectious microenvironment, the POD-like and OXD-like activities of Mn-N-C NPs could synergistically trigger the generation of ROS (˙OH and O˙), causing oxidative damage to the bacterial cell membrane for killing bacteria. Alternatively, in neutral or weak alkaline normal tissues, the excessive O˙ could be converted into O and HO the SOD-like ability of Mn-N-C NPs, and subsequently their CAT-like activity catalyzed excess HO into HO and O for protecting normal cells through the antioxidant defense.

Among many diseases, coronary artery disease (CAD) is the primary cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. With the aim of revealing the underlying genetic characteristics of the CAD subtypes, we recruited patients with CAD and categorized them into subgroups according to the transcriptome expression profiles of the adipose tissue. With the removal of the batch effect, consensus clustering was employed to determine the subgroup numbers.

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics, diagnosis and prognostic factors of bone marrow necrosis (BMN) patients, aim to avoid misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis or delayed treatment.
Methods: The clinical data of 51 BMN patients treated in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2010 to December 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. The types of primary disease, etiology, clinical manifestations, laboratory tests, radiological findings, treatment outcomes and prognostic factors were summrized, and the reasons for misdiagnosis were analyzed.

Glioma is the most prevalent type of malignant brain tumor and is usually very aggressive. Because of the high invasiveness and aggressive proliferative growth of glioma, it is difficult to resect completely or cure with surgery. Residual glioma cells are a primary cause of postoperative recurrence.

Background: With the change of people's life style, many more people are suffering from obese type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Acupoint catgut embedding is one of the acupuncture treatment principles in traditional Chinese medicine, which is widely used in the treatment of obese T2DM. However, there is no systematic review of the therapeutic effect of acupoint catgut embedding on obesity T2DM.
