Background: Only 2% to 6% aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) involve the cranial region, and even fewer show sphenoid and orbital involvement. The spheno-orbital ABC is prone to misdiagnosis and can result in intraoperative bleeding and residual lesions. The study was to summarize the clinical and therapeutic characteristics of patients with spheno-orbital ABC in children.

The batch effect is a nonbiological variation that arises from technical differences across different batches of data during the data generation process for acquisition-related reasons, such as collection of images at different sites or using different scanners. This phenomenon can affect the robustness and generalizability of computational pathology- or radiology-based cancer diagnostic models, especially in multicenter studies. To address this issue, we developed an open-source platform, Batch Effect Explorer (BEEx), that is designed to qualitatively and quantitatively determine whether batch effects exist among medical image datasets from different sites.

Sleep is a vital restorative process that plays a pivotal role in maintaining the delicate equilibrium of mental and physical well-being. Both short and long sleep duration are associated with a range of adverse health outcomes. Numerous studies have consistently demonstrated a robust association between sleep duration and liver disease.

Background: Predicting rupture risk in small intracranial aneurysms (IAs) < 5 mm is crucial for guiding clinical decisions. This study aims to identify key clinical and morphological risk factors associated with rupture in small IAs, providing better insight for decision-making.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on patients with small IAs from one center, with external validation data from another center.

Mature B-cell neoplasms (MBNs) are clonal proliferative diseases encompassing over 40 subtypes. The WHO classification (morphology, immunology, cytogenetics and molecular biology) provides comprehensive diagnostic understandings. However, MBN subtyping relies heavily on the expertise of clinicians and pathologists, and differences in clinical experience can lead to variations in subtyping efficiency and consistency.

Fibromyalgia (FM) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) are both rheumatic diseases characterized by significant musculoskeletal pain. In this study, we investigated the differences of the resting-state network (RSN) connectivity and gray matter volume (GMV) between FM, AS and healthy controls (HCs). We recruited 38 FM patients, 82 AS patients and 61 HCs in this study.

Introduction: The meticulous management of risk factors is paramount in the effective control of allergic rhinitis (AR), playing a significant role in diminishing both the direct medical expenditures and the indirect economic impacts associated with the condition. Presently, there is a notable deficiency in research concerning the risk factors for severe AR, as well as the correlation between serum allergen-specific immunoglobulin E (sIgE) levels and the severity of AR symptoms.
Methods: The study utilized data from a cross-sectional epidemiological survey conducted in Guangzhou, China, from April 2023 to March 2024, involved 638 AR patients.

Purpose: This study calculates the needed margin from clinical target volume (CTV) to planning target volume (PTV) in IMRT for cervical cancer. It also assesses the impact of setup errors on target and organ at risk (OAR) dose distribution.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 50 cervical cancer patients who underwent IMRT, with 210 CBCT scans.

Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility and efficiency between the two intelligent auto-registrations (based on hepatic vessels or based on liver surface) and manual registration for US-CT/MR fusion imaging of liver tumours.
Methods: From May 2017 to December 2017, 30 patients with 30 liver tumours were enrolled in this prospectively study. Two intelligent auto-registrations (based on hepatic vessels or based on liver surface) and manual registration were randomly performed, the registration success rate and efficiency were compared.

Effective treatment against glioma remains challenging nowadays because the protective blood-brain barrier (BBB) impedes drug penetration into brain and the limited efficacy of conventional chemotherapy. While strong positively charged nanoparticles have good permeability through the BBB, they often come with the caveat of cationic toxicity to healthy tissues and organs during blood circulation. Here we show a neutrally charged nanoprobe with a surface decorated with γ-glutamyl moieties that can be cleaved by γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, an enzyme overexpressed on brain capillaries.

The intravascular large B cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare subtype of lymphoma. The IVBCL is usually found with systemic involvement, with a relative predilection for skin and the central nervous system (CNS), followed by a rapidly progressive course and poor prognosis with a high mortality rate. IVLBCL is difficult to diagnose based on conventional MRI alone.

Onecut2 (OC2) plays a vital regulatory role in tumor growth, metastasis and angiogenesis. In this study, we report the regulatory role and specific molecular mechanism of OC2 in the apoptosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. We found that OC2 knockout via the CRISPR/CAS9 system not only significantly inhibited the proliferation and angiogenesis of HCC cells but also significantly promoted apoptosis.

Background And Hypothesis: The prognostic value of nutritional scoring tools in assessing the relationship between nutritional status and prognosis in hemodialysis patients is unclear. This multicenter retrospective cohort study compared the Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), Controlling Nutritional Status scores (CONUT), and Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) for predictive accuracy of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality, especially the impact of dynamic changes over time on prognosis.
Methods: Hemodialysis patients from four hospitals were included.
