Background: Professional quality of life has received widespread concern in nursing over the last few years. Nurses with a high professional quality of life enthusiastically approach their work and provide excellent patient care. On the other hand, poor professional quality of life may affect nurses' quality of care, resulting in job dissatisfaction and jeopardizing patient outcomes.

An Evaluation of Whether Routine QTc Interval Screening Is Necessary Prior to Starting ADHD Medications: Experience from a Large Retrospective Study.

Background/objectives: Routine screening electrocardiograms (ECGs) prior to starting medications for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) remain controversial. This real-world study assessed corrected QT (QTc) interval data from pediatric patients who had a baseline ECG performed prior to initiating treatment with ADHD medications and ≥6 months of clinical follow-up.

Methods: A retrospective chart review of children aged 2-18 years diagnosed with ADHD with/without autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at child neurology clinics in Jordan (June 2019 and June 2021) was performed, and children were prescribed with ADHD medications to manage symptoms.

A Large Sigmoid Pseudo-Pedunculated Lipoma Mimicking an Adenoma: A Report of a Rare Case and Literature Review.

Large colonic lipomas exceeding 2.0 cm in size may rarely mimic colorectal adenomas and hence we referred to such lipomas as pseudo-pedunculated lipomas. They can exhibit surface erosions, fissure ulcerations, and mucosal erythema and can pose diagnostic dilemmas during colonoscopy.

Design: A descriptive correlational cross-sectional design was used in this study.

Association between carpal height ratio and ulnar variance in normal wrist radiography.

Introduction: The wrist joint is a complex anatomical structure, and various radiographic parameters are utilized to assess its normal alignment and orientation. Among these parameters are carpal height ratio (CHR) and ulnar variance (UV). Previous literature has indicated that factors such as age and gender may influence these parameters; However, there is a lack of studies investigating these differences specifically in the Middle East or Jordan.

Implementation of streamlining measures in selecting and prioritising complex cases for the cancer multidisciplinary team meeting: a mini review of the recent developments.

In January 2020, NHS England and NHS Improvement, in the United Kingdom, issued a permissive framework for streamlining cancer multidisciplinary (MDT) meetings. Streamlining is defined as a process whereby complex cases are prioritized for full discussion by an MDT in an MDT meeting (MDM), while the management of straightforward cases is expedited using Standards of Care (SoC). SoC are points in the pathway of patient management where there are recognized guidelines and clear clinical consensus on the options for management and should be regionally agreed and uniformly applied by regional Cancer Alliances.

Atomoxetine Treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Symptoms in 3-6-Year-Old Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

Atomoxetine is indicated for the management of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years. Few studies have assessed the safety and tolerability of atomoxetine in younger patients. This retrospective cohort study included 133 children aged 3-6 years who were diagnosed with ADHD comorbid with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Adherence to Congestive Heart Failure Guidelines and Outcome in the Middle East.

Background: Adherence to Congestive Heart Failure with reduced Ejection Fraction (CHFrEF) guidelines is not easily attainable everywhere, particularly in countries with a high prevalence of low socioeconomic status, which includes many Middle Eastern countries. However, it is well-established that adherence to the guidelines is associated with lower mortality and morbidity rates.

Objective: Our objective is to investigate the adherence to the degree of treatment guideline in CHFrEF within a patient population in the Middle East and correlate the level of compliance both fully and partially with morbidity and mortality outcomes.

Mid-trimester spontaneous rupture of a bicornuate uterus: A case report.

Bicornuate uterus (BU) is a rare congenital anomaly that may present with various obstetric complications, and very rarely may be a risk factor for uterine rupture, even of an unscarred uterus. A 21-year-old primigravida woman, at 19 weeks and 5 days of gestation, presented with severe abdominal pain and features of hypovolemic shock. Urgent laparotomy showed a large hemoperitoneum, a ruptured left horn of a BU and a dead fetus in the abdominal cavity.

Safety and Efficacy of Brolucizumab in the Treatment of Diabetic Macular Edema and Diabetic Retinopathy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Purpose: To investigate the efficacy and safety of brolucizumab in diabetic macular edema (DME) and diabetic retinopathy (DR).

Methods: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, an electronic search was done to acquire all articles describing brolucizumab use in patients with DME and DR. The review was prospectively registered on PROSPERO (CRD42022382625).

The study aims to determine the effect of enhancing knowledge and awareness of the WHO Access, Watch, and Reserve (AWaRe) antibiotics classification on hospital clinical staff's knowledge, attitudes and antibiotic prescribing practices. A pre-post-intervention study design was employed. The intervention was an educational activity that involved teaching physicians and pharmacists about the AWaRe classification and the risk of antibiotic resistance.

Familial testicular torsion in siblings of different age groups: A case report.

The acute scrotum (AS) is one of the urologic emergencies, where testicular torsion (TT) represents 20-30% of it. In the peri-puberty period, TT is not uncommon, yet there are very few reports of familial testicular torsion worldwide. This case report highlights a man who experienced TT and had a family history of TT.

We sought to describe country-level variations in non-communicable disease (NCD) strategies and CKD-specific policies across different regions and income levels worldwide. The International Society of Nephrology Global Kidney Health Atlas (GKHA) was a multinational cross-sectional survey conducted between July and October 2018.

Dietary patterns associated with the risk of pancreatic cancer: Case-control study findings.

Diet is an important modifiable lifestyle factor, but epidemiological studies evaluating the association between dietary patterns and pancreatic cancer (PC) have reported inconsistent findings. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of several dietary choices on the risk of PC among newly diagnosed Jordanian patients. The rapid development of COVID-19 vaccines raises concerns over vaccine hesitancy among healthcare workers (HCWs) and the general public, which made understanding the factors influencing hesitancy crucial in the maintenance of a solid healthcare system. This cross-sectional study investigated the knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions (KAP) of Jordanian HCWs to the COVID-19 vaccine from February to March 2021, using a self-administered questionnaire validated by a panel of public health experts. A total of 364 Jordanian HCWs were included in the final analysis, in which women accounted for 48.

Urothelial carcinoma of the fossa navicularis successfully treated with laser ablation and distal urethrectomy: A case report.

Primary urothelial carcinomas very rarely arise from the fossa navicularis of the penis. They are rarely reported in the literature, with only 13 cases reported thus far. Herein, we present the case of a 34-year-old man with bloody urethral discharge due to a mass detected by cystourethroscopy in the fossa navicularis.
