Due to the absence of definitive diagnostic criteria, there remains a lack of consensus regarding the risk assessment of central lymph node metastasis (CLNM) and the necessity for prophylactic lymph node surgery in ultrasound-diagnosed thyroid cancer. The localization of thyroid nodules is a recognized predictor of CLNM; however, quantifying this relationship is challenging due to variable measurements. In this study, we developed a differential isomorphism-based alignment method combined with a graph transformer to accurately extract localization and morphological information of thyroid nodules, thereby predicting CLNM.

Real-world implementation of a multilevel interventions program to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HBV in China.

Reducing hepatitis B virus (HBV) mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) is a fundamental step toward the HBV elimination goal. The multicentred, multilevel SHIELD program aimed to use an intense intervention package to reduce HBV MTCT in China. This study was conducted in diverse health settings across China, encompassing 30,109 pregnant women from 178 hospitals, part of the interim analysis of stage II of the SHIELD program, and 8,642 pregnant women from 160 community-level health facilities in stage III of the SHIELD program.

In the previous study, we originally developed cancer stem cells (CSCs) models from mouse induced pluripotent stem cells (miPSCs) by culturing miPSCs in the conditioned medium of cancer cell lines, which mimiced as carcinoma microenvironment. However, the molecular mechanism of conversion in detail remains to be uncovered. Microarray analysis of the CSCs models in this study revealed Dsg2, one of the members of the desmosomal cadherin family, was up-regulated when compared with the original miPSCs.

Management Algorithm for Prevention of Mother-to-child Transmission of Hepatitis B Virus (2022).

The World Health Organization (WHO) has set the goal of eliminating hepatitis as a threat to public health by 2030. Blocking mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of hepatitis B virus (HBV) is not only the key to eliminating viral hepatitis, but also a hot issue in the field of hepatitis B prevention and treatment. To standardize the clinical management of preventing MTCT of HBV and achieve zero HBV infection among infants, the Chinese Foundation for Hepatitis Prevention and Control organized experts to compile a management algorithm for prevention of MTCT of HBV based on the latest research progress and guidelines, including 10 steps of pregnancy management and postpartum follow-up, among which screening, antiviral treatment, and infant immunization are its core components.

Mobile-assisted vocabulary learning through the Shanbay App outside the classroom: Effects of self-regulation and peer scaffolding.

Recent decades have witnessed an increasing academic interest in mobile-assisted vocabulary learning. To explore the possible influencing factors on learning outcomes, this study aimed at examining the effects of self-regulation and peer scaffolding on mobile-assisted vocabulary learning among undergraduate students using Shanbay App beyond the classroom. To this end, altogether 71 intermediate-level English learners aged 17-19 years were chosen as participants, with 37 in the experimental group (with peer scaffolding) and 34 in the control group (without peer scaffolding).

N-Butylphthalide vs. Human Urinary Kallidinogenase for the Treatment of Acute Ischemic Stroke: Functional Outcome and Impact on Serum VEGF and TNF-α Expressions.

Objective: To compare the e!cacy and functional outcomes of dl-3-n-Butylphthalide (NBP) and human urinary kallidinogenase (HUK) on ischemic stroke patients and to determine their effects on serum tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).

Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 57 ischemic stroke patients. Functional outcomes were assessed by the National Institute Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), the modified Rankin Scale (mRS), and the activities of daily living score (ADL), whereas TNF-α and VEGF expressions were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Long-term safety of infants from mothers with chronic hepatitis B treated with tenofovir disoproxil in China.

Objective: The physical and neuromental development of infants remains uncertain after fetal exposure to tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HBV. We aimed to investigate the safety of TDF therapy during the third trimester of pregnancy.

GABAergic interneurons play a crucial role in major depressive disorder (MDD) and possibly mediate the rapid antidepressant effect. However, how mGlu2/3 receptors regulate synaptic activities to GABAergic interneurons is not fully understood.

Objective: Slingshot homolog-1 (SSH-1) shows an important role in the occurrence and development in various tumors. While, the expression and prognostic implications of SSH-1 in bladder urothelial carcinoma (UC) remain unclear and thus were addressed in this study.

Methods: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was performed on tissue microarrays composed of 624 bladder UC specimens after transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TUR-BT) to detect SSH-1 expression.

Bisphenol A (BPA), a global environmental pollutant, has been reported to have the potential to induced organs toxicity. This study explored the potential benefits of astaxanthin (ATX), a natural antioxidant, against BPA toxicity in the kidney, and explored whether mitochondria are involved in this condition. Male Wistar rats were fed with a vehicle, BPA, BPA plus ATX, ATX and were evaluated after five weeks.

Autophagy Suppression Accelerates Apoptosis Induced by Norcantharidin in Cholangiocarcinoma.

Norcantharidin is a cantharidin demethylated analog with antitumor effects in many tumors, including cholangiocarcinoma. Autophagy suppression is known to increase chemosensitivity in cholangiocarcinoma. This study aimed to determine whether autophagy suppression accelerates apoptosis induced by norcantharidin in human cholangiocarcinoma cells.

Background: Numerous recent studies have shown that concomitant carcinoma in situ (CIS) can be closely associated with the prognosis of patients with bladder cancer (BCa). However, the prognostic value of CIS in BCa is still not conclusive.
