Background: Globally, Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) is a common cause of heart failure (HF), which has been a leading cause of mortality resulting from non-communicable diseases. On the other hand, increasing evidence suggests that the role of energy production within the mitochondria strongly links to the development and progression of heart diseases, while Cuproptosis, a newly identified cell death mechanism, has not yet been comprehensively analyzed from the aspect of cardiovascular medicine.
Materials And Methods: 8 transcriptome profiles curated from the GEO database were integrated, from which a diagnostic model based on the Stacking algorithm was established.

Objective: To investigate the changes of mitochondrial respiratory function during myocardial fibrosis in mice with myocardial infarction (MI) and its correlation with the increase of glycolytic flux.
Methods: Forty C57BL/6N mice were randomized into two equal groups to receive sham operation or ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery to induce acute MI. At 28 days after the operation, 5 mice from each group were euthanized and left ventricular tissue samples were collected for transcriptomic sequencing.

Background: The complex relationship between atrial fibrillation (AF) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) suggests a potential role for epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) that requires further investigation. This study employs bioinformatics and experimental approaches to clarify EAT's role in linking T2DM and AF, aiming to unravel the biological mechanisms involved.
Method: Bioinformatics analysis initially identified common differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in EAT from T2DM and AF datasets.

To investigate potential correlations between the susceptibility values of certain brain regions and the severity of disease or neurodevelopmental status in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), 18 ASD children and 15 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited. The neurodevelopmental status was assessed by the Gesell Developmental Schedules (GDS) and the severity of the disease was evaluated by the Autism Behavior Checklist (ABC). Eleven brain regions were selected as regions of interest and the susceptibility values were measured by quantitative susceptibility mapping.

Background: Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM) poses a growing health threat, elevating heart failure risk in diabetic individuals. Understanding DCM is crucial, with fibroblasts and endothelial cells playing pivotal roles in driving myocardial fibrosis and contributing to cardiac dysfunction. Advances in Multimodal single-cell profiling, such as scRNA-seq and scATAC-seq, provide deeper insights into DCM's unique cell states and molecular landscape for targeted therapeutic interventions.

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a progressive status of acute lung injury (ALI), is primarily caused by an immune-mediated inflammatory disorder, which can be an acute pulmonary complication of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). As a chronic inflammatory disease regulated by the immune system, RA is closely associated with the occurrence and progression of respiratory diseases. However, it remains elusive whether there are shared genes between the molecular mechanisms underlying RA and ARDS.

Time in target range (TTR) and blood pressure variability (BPV) of systolic blood pressure (SBP) are independent risk factors for major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and all-cause mortality in hypertensive patients. However, the association of the combination of low TTR and high BPV of SBP with the risk of MACE and all-cause mortality is unclear. This study sought to investigate the combined effect of the TTR and BPV on the risk of MACE and all-cause mortality in patients with hypertension.

As the contribution of mutations (DNMs) to human genetic diseases has been gradually uncovered, analyzing the global research landscape over the past 20 years is essential. Because of the large and rapidly increasing number of publications in this field, understanding the current landscape of the contribution of DNMs in the human genome to genetic diseases remains a challenge. Bibliometric analysis provides an approach for visualizing these studies using information in published records in a specific field.

Background: Atrial Fibrillation (AF), a prevalent arrhythmic condition, is intricately associated with atrial fibrosis, a major pathological contributor. Central to the development of atrial fibrosis is myocardial inflammation. This study focuses on Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) and its role in mitigating atrial fibrosis, aiming to elucidate the specific mechanisms by which ANP exerts its effects, with an emphasis on fibroblast dynamics.

Objective: To investigate the role of glutamatergic neurons in the dorsomedial periaqueductal grey (dmPAG) in regulating excessive defensive behaviors in mice with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Methods: Eight-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were subjected to stereotactic injections of different recombinant adeno- associated viral vectors (rAAV2/9-CaMKII-mCherry, rAAV2/9-CaMKII-hM3Dq-mCherry and rAAV2/9-CaMKII-hM4Di-mCherry) into the bilateral dmPAG for chemogenetic activation or inhibition of the glutamatergic neurons, followed 2 weeks later by PTSD modeling by single prolonged stress. The looming test, response to whisker stimulation test and contextual fear conditioning (CFC) test were used to observe changes in defensive behaviors of the PTSD mice.
Background: Thermal ablation is routinely used for solitary colorectal liver metastases (SCLM), but the added value of adjuvant systemic therapy in SCLM remains unclear. This study aimed to compare the long-term outcomes for SCLM treated by ablation alone (AB) versus ablation plus systemic therapy (AS).
Methods: This multicenter retrospective study using nationwide data from fourteen institutions between October 2010 and May 2023, 369 patients with initial SCLM smaller than 5 cm, no extrahepatic metastases, and colorectal cancer R0 resection treated by thermal ablation were included.

Objective: Anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) is the standard procedure for the treatment of cervical spinal stenosis (CSS), but complications such as adjacent segment degeneration can seriously affect the long-term efficacy. Currently, posterior endoscopic surgery has been increasingly used in the clinical treatment of CSS. The aim of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes of single-segment CSS patients who underwent full endoscopic laminotomy decompression or ACDF.

Background: Chinese youth are at high risk for depression with a significantly higher detection rate of depression risk than other age groups, which brings about a huge challenge to the mental health work of universities. Developing supportive resources that promote resilience against adverse environmental influences in high-risk groups is quite more urgent than medical treatment for firm diagnoses of mental issues that have developed into depression in the current background.
Methods: A total of 665 university students in China completed self-reported questionnaires measuring psychological resilience, social support, and coping styles.
