Incretin receptor agonists (IRAs), primarily composed of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor agonists (GIPRAs), work by mimicking the actions of the endogenous incretin hormones in the body. GLP-1RAs have been approved for use as monotherapy and in combination with GIPRAs for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). In addition to their role in glucose regulation, IRAs have demonstrated various benefits such as cardiovascular protection, obesity management, and regulation of bone turnover.

Objective: The aim of this study was to elucidate the effects of fermented hawthorn extract on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in rats, and explore the possible underlying mechanisms.
Methods: A total of 42 male adult Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups: normal control group (given a normal feed diet and distilled water by gavage), NAFLD model (given HFD and distilled water by gavage), low-, medium-, and high-dose fermented hawthorn extract treatment groups (given HFD and different doses of fermented hawthorn extract by gavage). After 12 weeks of gavage administration, changes in body weight, liver/body weight ratio, serum liver enzymes, as well as triglyceride (TG) content and oxidative stress levels in rat liver tissueswere detected Histological evaluation was performed to observe he degree of fat accumulation (steatosis).

The healing of severe chronic skin wounds in chronic diabetic patients is still a huge clinical challenge due to complex regeneration processes and control signals. Therefore, a single approach is difficult in obtaining satisfactory therapeutic efficacy for severe diabetic skin wounds. In this study, we adopted a composite strategy for diabetic skin wound healing.

Senescence of skeletal muscle (SkM) has been a primary contributor to senior weakness and disability in recent years. The gradually declining SkM function associated with senescence has recently been connected to an imbalance between damage and repair. Macrophages (Mac) are involved in SkM aging, and different macrophage subgroups hold different biological functions.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive joint disorder characterized by sustained oxidative stress, chronic inflammation, and the degradation of cartilage. Despite extensive research on nanocarrier treatment strategies, the therapeutic efficacy remains limited due to the lack of satisfactory vehicles that can simultaneously exhibit excellent ROS scavenging capabilities and high drug loading capacity for effective nonsurgical management of OA. In this work, we propose an innovative strategy utilizing hollow mesoporous cerium oxide nanospheres coated with membranes derived from apoptotic chondrocytes as a reactive oxygen species "sweeper" for targeted and anti-inflammatory therapy of OA.

DNA damage plays a significant role in the tumorigenesis and progression of the disease. Abnormal DNA repair affects the therapy and prognosis of cancer. In this study, it is demonstrated that the deubiquitinase USP25 promotes non-homologous end joining (NHEJ), which in turn contributes to chemoresistance in cancer.

ASPM is a protein encoded by () and is responsible for ensuring spindle position during mitosis and the symmetrical division of neural stem cells. We recently reported that ASPM promotes homologous recombination (HR) repair of DNA double strand breaks. However, its potential role in DNA replication and replication stress response remains elusive.

Background: A number of questions concerning the histological mechanism of elongated T1rho in liver fibrosis remain unanswered. Using a rat model of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) induced with methionine and choline-deficient (MCD) diet, the primary aim of this study is to clarify whether collagen deposition causes liver T1rho elongation.
Methods: There were 45 rats in the NAFLD model group and 8 rats in the control group.
