Currently, microsatellite high instability (MSI-H)/mismatch repair protein deletion (dMMR) has become a crucial biomarker for utilizing immune checkpoint inhibitors in patients with advanced colorectal cancer (mCRC). However, the proportion of MSI-H/dMMR in advanced patients is only about 5% and mCRC patients with microsatellite stability (MSS)/proficient mismatch repair (pMMR) exhibit poor responses to immunotherapy. Although diverse immune combination therapy regimens have been examined in patients with advanced colorectal cancer who demonstrate MSS/pMMR, these approaches have not yielded favorable efficacy and only a limited proportion of patients have benefited, especially for advanced colorectal cancer patients with liver metastases.

Background: Post-stroke depression (PSD) was one of the most prevalent and serious neuropsychiatric effects after stroke. Nevertheless, the association between liver function test indices and PSD remains elusive, and there is a lack of effective prediction tools. The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between the liver function test indices and PSD, and construct a prediction model for PSD.

Background: Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a severe hyperinflammatory reaction, which is rare and life-threatening. According to the pathogen, HLH is divided into genetic and acquired. The most common form of acquired HLH is infection-associated HLH, of which Herpes viruses, particularly Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), are the leading infectious triggers.

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect of Buyang huanwu decoction (BYHWD) on sepsis-induced myocardial injury (SIMI) and explore the mechanism by which BYHWD mitigates SIMI.
Methods: The Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced SIMI mouse model was established to detect the effect of BYHWD-low (1 mg/kg), BYHWD-middle (5 mg/kg), and BYWHD-high (20 mg/kg) on SIMI. The survival of these BYHWD-treated septic mice was investigated.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by chronic synovitis and the destruction of bones and joints. Exosomes are nanoscale lipid membrane vesicles originating from multivesicular bodies and are used as a vital means of intercellular communication. Both exosomes and the microbial community are essential in RA pathogenesis.

Alisol B 23-acetate (AB23A), a major bioactive constituent in the Chinese herb Zexie (), has been found with multiple pharmacological activities. AB23A can be readily hydrolyzed to alisol B in mammals, but the hydrolytic pathways of AB23A in humans and the key enzymes responsible for AB23A hydrolysis are still unrevealed. This study aims to reveal the metabolic organs and the crucial enzymes responsible for AB23A hydrolysis in human biological systems, as well as to decipher the impact of AB23A hydrolysis on its biological effects.

Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is regarded as a promising target for the diagnosis and treatment of tumors as it was overexpressed in cancer-associated fibroblasts. FAP inhibitors bearing a quinoline scaffold have been proven to show high affinity against FAP and , and the scaffold has been radio-labeled for the imaging and treatment of FAP-positive tumors. However, currently available FAP imaging agents both contain chelator groups to enable radio-metal labeling, making those tracers more hydrophilic and not suitable for the imaging of lesions in the brain.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play significant roles in different biological functions of cancers. However, their function in the metabolism of glucose in patients with human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains largely unknown. In this study, HCC and paired intact liver tissues were utilized to examine the miR4458HG expression using qRT-PCR and human HCC cell lines to examine cell proliferation, colony formation, and glycolysis after transfection of siRNAs targeting miR4458HG or miR4458HG vectors.

The homologous to the E6-AP carboxyl terminus (HECT)-type E3 ubiquitin ligases are the selective executers in the protein ubiquitination, playing a vital role in modulation of the protein function and stability. Evidence shows the regulatory role of HECT-type E3 ligases in various steps of the autophagic process. Autophagy is an intracellular digestive and recycling process that controls the cellular hemostasis.

Chronic wounds seriously affect the quality of life of the elderly, obese people, and diabetic patients. The excessive inflammatory response is a key driver of delayed chronic wound healing. Although lavender essential oil (EO [lav]) has been proven to have anti-inflammatory and accelerate wound curative effects, the specific molecular mechanism involved is still ambiguous.

Background: Radiotherapy is an effective curative treatment option for intermediate- to high-risk localized prostate cancer. According to the HYPO-RT-PC trial (ISRCTN45905321), there was no significant difference in 5 years of follow-up in terms of failure-free survival, overall survival, urinary toxicity, and bowel toxicity, while erectile function decreased between ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy with conventionally fractionated radiotherapy, except that the incidence of urinary toxicity in ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy was higher at 1 year of follow-up. We evaluated the cost-effectiveness of ultra-hypofractionated radiotherapy and conventionally fractionated radiotherapy for intermediate- to high-risk localized prostate cancer from the Chinese payer's perspective.

Based on the suppressor of cytokine signaling 1 (SOCS1)/Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) pathway, the mechanism of oxymatrine in the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD) was preliminarily explored in this study. C57BL/6 mice were induced to establish AD model by smearing carbotriol (MC903) on their back. The AD mice were randomly divided into model group, oxymatrine groups with three dosages (25, 50 and 100Â mg/kg), ( = 10).

The study is aimed to establish a predictive model of hypoxemia after shoulder arthroscopy. The predictive model was based on a retrospective study with 756 patients who underwent shoulder arthroscopic surgery in Sichuan Orthopaedic Hospital from June 2019 to December 2020. Independent risk factors of hypoxemia in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) were screened out by the binary logistics regression and the primary predictive model was completed, which was evaluated by the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit test.

Following the publication of this paper, it was drawn to the Editors' attention by a concerned reader that one of the data panels shown for the cell invasion assays in Fig. 2D was strikingly similar to another data panel that had appeared in different form in another article by different authors. Owing to the fact that the contentious data in the above article had already been published elsewhere prior to its submission to Molecular Medicine Reports, the Editor has decided that this paper should be retracted from the Journal.

Background: This study aimed to explored the effects of the Cardiac Rhythm Identification for Simple People (CRISP) method with flipped classroom approach for arrhythmia interpretation in electrocardiogram (ECG) by trainee nurses.
Methods: A total of 120 trainee nurses were enrolled and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group using lecture-based learning method. We observed the effects of the two methods in ECG interpretation training and investigated the students' attitudes toward the teaching practices.
