Objective: In the RECO study, we investigated the impact of the operator's choice of stent retriever size on patients with internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion.

Methods: Data from the RECO Registry, a prospective multicentre study, were utilized. Patients who underwent mechanical thrombectomy (MT) were divided according to the size of the stent into the RECO 4 × 20 group, the RECO 5 × 30 group and the RECO 6 × 30 group.

Background: Whether intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) should be bridged before mechanical thrombectomy (MT) remains uncertain in patients with large vessel occlusion (LVO) and chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Methods: This research systematically enrolled every patient with both acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and CKD who received MT and fulfilled the criteria for IVT from January 2015 to December 2022. According to whether they underwent IVT, the patients were categorized into two cohorts: MT and combined IVT + MT.

Efficacy of the low dose apatinib plus deep hyperthermia as third-line or later treatment in HER-2 negative advanced gastric cancer.

To observe the efficacy of the low dose apatinib plus deep hyperthermia as third-line or later treatment for patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER-2) negative advanced gastric cancer. 80 eligible patients with HER-2 negative advanced gastric cancer admitted to Jingjiang People's Hospital Affiliated with Yangzhou University-from March 2021 to March 2022 were selected, and they were divided into the control group ( = 40, apatinib) and experimental group ( = 40, apatinib plus deep hyperthermia) on the basis of random number table method. The levels of serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 199 (CA199), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) were monitored, and the efficacy of the two groups was analyzed by referring to Karnofsky performance status (KPS), overall survival (OS) and disease control rate (DCR) before and after treatment.

Currently, resistance to oxaliplatin (OXA) has become an important obstacle to improving the clinical outcome of patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). Moreover, long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been documented in cancer chemoresistance, and our bioinformatic analysis suggested an involvement of lncRNA CCAT1 in CRC development. In this context, this study aimed to clarify the upstream and downstream mechanisms underpinning the effect of CCAT1 in the resistance of CRC to OXA.

A fetal posterior cerebral artery (FPCA) is an anatomic variant in which the posterior cerebral artery (PCA) is an embryological derivative of the internal carotid artery (ICA). Patients with FPCA may experience posterior circulation stroke (PCS) after a thrombotic event in the ICA system, while exclusively PCS caused by thrombosis of the ICA has rarely been reported. We report a patient with FPCA and summarize 3 types of exclusively PCS caused by FPCA due to thrombotic events in the ICA system.

Impact of COVID-19 on acute ischemic stroke presentation and prognosis in a county-level stroke center.

Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced regular medical procedures and health-seeking behaviors. In this study, we aimed to investigate the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the presentation and prognosis of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients in county-level stroke centers.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively collected AIS patients during the strict lockdown period (January 24, 2020, to March 27, 2020) and the corresponding "new normal" period (2021) of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Peripheral blood specimens of 120 CRC patients and 90 healthy volunteers (as a control cohort) were extracted. A quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to determine the cfDNA expression.

Endovascular Treatment Versus Best Medical Management in Acute Basilar Artery Occlusion Strokes: Results From the ATTENTION Multicenter Registry.

Background: The authors compare the effectiveness and safety of endovascular treatment (EVT) versus best medical management (BMM) in strokes attributable to acute basilar artery occlusion (BAO).

Methods: The present analysis was based on the ongoing, prospective, multicenter ATTENTION (Endovascular Treatment for Acute Basilar Artery Occlusion) trial registry in China. Our analytic sample comprised 2134 patients recruited at 48 sites between 2017 and 2021 and included 462 patients who received BMM and 1672 patients who received EVT.

Identification of the metabolite of ophiopogonanone A by liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry.

Rationale: Ophiopogonanone A (OPA) is one of the representative homoisoflavonoids isolated from Ophiopogonis Radix. The aim of this study was to identify and characterize the metabolites of OPA generated in the liver microsomes and hepatocytes of rats and humans.

Methods: The metabolites were generated by incubating OPA (5 μM) with liver microsomes or hepatocytes at 37°C.

By using a prospective, nationwide registry, we compared the workflow intervals and radiological/clinical outcomes between patients with acute LVO treated with EVT presenting during off- and on-hours. We analyzed prospectively collected Endovascular Treatment Key Technique and Emergency Work Flow Improvement of Acute Ischemic Stroke (ANGEL-ACT) data.

The impact of COVID-19 on college students' physical activity: A protocol for systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: We aimed to conduct a meta-analysis to assess the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on college students' physical activity.

Methods: All cohort studies comparing college students undertaking physical exercise at school before the COVID-19 pandemic and physical exercise at home during the COVID-19 pandemic will be included in this review. We will use index words related to college students, physical exercise, and COVID-19 to perform literature searches in the PubMed, Medline, Embase, and CNKI databases, to include articles indexed as of June 20, 2021, in English and Chinese.
