Dual Opdivo plus Yervoy immunotherapy, targeting the immune checkpoints PD1 and CTLA-4, is successful in clinical use. However, it is associated with a high incidence of adverse events, and its therapeutic efficacy needs improving. In this study, polymeric multivalent Fc-binding peptides (PLG-Fc-III-4C) are employed to fabricate a bispecific antibody (PD1/CTLA-4 BsAb) to potentiate dual immunotherapy targeting PD1 and CTLA-4.

Osteoporosis, a metabolic disorder, remains challenging to treat due to limited understanding of its underlying mechanism. The annual cycle of "cyclic physiological osteoporosis (CPO)" and its full reversal in male deer represents a unique natural model for studying this condition. Deer antlers, weighing up to 25 kg/pair, derive over 60% of their mineral contents from deer skeleton during mineralization.

Gasless endoscopic thyroidectomy obviates the necessity for carbon dioxide insufflation to establish a surgical workspace, thus mitigating the potential complications associated with this practice. This technique presents several benefits, such as the maintenance of neck functionality, minimal scarring, and enhanced visibility of the surgical field, which contribute to its extensive adoption in clinical settings. The objective of this study is to synthesize the current methodologies of gasless endoscopic thyroidectomy and to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages inherent to each technique.

Rationale And Objectives: The escalating incidence of placental accreta spectrum (PAS), a pregnancy complication, underscores the need for accurate prenatal diagnosis to guide optimal management strategies. This study aims to develop, validate, and compare various prenatal PAS prediction models integrating clinical data, MRI signs, and radiomics signatures.
Materials And Methods: A cohort comprising 111 patients (72 with PAS and 39 without, denoted as N-PAS) served as the training set, while another 47 patients (33 PAS and 14 N-PAS) constituted the validation set.

Studies focusing on the kinematics of the ankle joint complex (AJC) have long been a key area of interest for biomechanists and orthopedic surgeons. However, it is not clear how additional weight-bearing walking affects the motion of the AJC compared to walking with a normal body weight (BW) or what adjustments the AJC would instinctively make to accommodate the additional load. To address this gap in knowledge, advanced dynamic biplane radiography combined with a model-based 2D-3D tracking technique was employed to elucidate the inherent kinematics of the AJC during the stance phase while walking with and without additional weight-bearing.

Objective: Currently, there is no research that includes a comprehensive three-dimensional fracture mapping encompassing all types of Pilon fractures. Moreover, the existing classification systems for Pilon fractures exhibit only moderate to fair consistency and reproducibility. Additionally, some of these classification systems fail to accurately depict the morphological characteristics of the fractures.

Fracture Mapping is a new technology developed in recent years. This technology visually representing the morphology of fractures by overlaying fracture lines from multiple fracture models onto a standard model through three-dimensional reconstruction. Fracture mapping has been widely used in acetabular fracture, proximal humerus fractures, Pilon fracture, tibial plateau fractures, and so on.

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a synthetic persistent organic compound that is widely used in industrial products. Studies have shown that PFOS can accumulate in environment and pose a threat to human health. As the kidney is the main excretory organ for PFOS, it is important to study PFOS damage to the kidney to investigate its toxicity.

causes high morbidity and mortality in nosocomial infections, and newly approved antibiotics have been declining for decades. A green and universal deprotonation-driven strategy is used to screen the guanylic acid-metal ion coordination polymer nanoparticles (GMC), instead of the failure of binding occurs when specific metal ion participation. We find that the precise pH-dependent oxidase-like activity of GMC-2 orchestrates a duple symphony of immune modulation for biofilm infections.

Scientific and effective training is important to enhance the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of clinical nurses in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) prevention and control (IPC), so as to improve the IPC capacity. The study aimed to design and implement a COVID-19 IPC training program for clinical nurses based on the ADDIE model, and to evaluate its clinical application effects. This was a pretest-posttest study in which 389 clinical nurses were recruited through convenience sampling.

Once considered unconventional cellular structures, membraneless organelles (MLOs), cellular substructures involved in biological processes or pathways under physiological conditions, have emerged as central players in cellular dynamics and function. MLOs can be formed through liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS), resulting in the creation of condensates. From neurodegenerative disorders, cardiovascular diseases, aging, and metabolism to cancer, the influence of MLOs on human health and disease extends widely.

Background: Epimedium polysaccharide (EPS) is a bioactive compound derived from the traditional Chinese herb Epimedium brevicornum. The objective of this study was to investigate the protective effects of EPS on ulcerative colitis (UC) and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms involved.
Results: The findings showed that EPS treatment mitigated UC symptoms, including weight loss, anal bleeding, elevated disease activity index (DAI), and colon shortening.

Combining chemo/photodynamic therapy (CDT/PDT) to generate highly harmful reactive oxygen species and cause mitochondria dysfunction is considered a potential strategy to improve the efficiency of anticancer treatment. However, within tumor, the relatively deficient concentration of HO, hypoxic microenvironment, and overexpressed reduced glutathione (GSH) seriously suppress the efficacy of dynamic therapy. Herein, a multi-functional cascade nanoreactor, bovine serum albumin modified ZnO@CeO-ICG, is reported for remodeling tumor microenvironment (TME) to boost dynamic therapy and realize mitochondria dysfunction via reactive oxygen species (ROS) storm/Zn ions overload.

Background: Pain intensity after temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery is often underestimated, and inadequate pain control may relate to poor recovery quality, increased opioid consumption, and longer hospital stay. This trial aims to evaluate whether non-opiate anesthesia provides a promising option of pain management for patients undergoing TMJ surgery.
Methods: Sixty patients receiving TMJ surgery were randomly assigned to either the control group or the non-opiate group.
