During the COVID-19 pandemic, the online delivery model became the primary mode of education. With multiple pressures on society and families, mental health issues for parents have become particularly pronounced. Most of the current research has focused on the psychological state of education practitioners and children, with little attention to parents' mental health issues.

We reported findings from participants screened during the May Measurement Month 2021 in China, which aimed to raise awareness of raised blood pressure (BP), and to investigate the risk factors of BP. The study participants were adults (≥18 years), ideally in whom BP had not been measured in the previous year. Blood pressure was measured three times consecutively with 1 min intervals in the sitting position, using a validated upper-arm cuff automated BP monitor (Omron HEM-7081IT), and transmitted to a central cloud database via a smartphone app.

The risk of pressure ulcers in stroke patients is a significant concern, impacting their recovery and quality of life. This systematic review and meta-analysis investigate the prevalence and risk factors of pressure ulcers in stroke patients, comparing those in healthcare facilities with those in home-based or non-clinical environments. The study aims to elucidate how different care settings affect the development of pressure ulcers, serving as a crucial indicator of patient care quality and management across diverse healthcare contexts.

Rationale And Objectives: To develop a Dual generative-adversarial-network (GAN) Cascaded Network (DGCN) for generating super-resolution computed tomography (SRCT) images from normal-resolution CT (NRCT) images and evaluate the performance of DGCN in multi-center datasets.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 278 patients with chest CT from two hospitals between January 2020 and June 2023, and each patient had all three NRCT (512×512 matrix CT images with a resolution of 0.70 mm, 0.

Objective: Increasing evidence indicated that schizophrenia and obesity are associated with altered mitochondrial and immune function. In this study, we investigated the levels of CRP (C-reactive protein) and mitochondrial lymphocytes in chronically treated schizophrenia patients with atypical antipsychotic medications and further explored the relationship between mitochondrial lymphocyte and weight gain as well as cognitive function in these patients.
Methods: We evaluated the mitochondrial lymphocyte count of 97 patients (53 overweight, 44 non-overweight) and 100 healthy controls using mitochondrial fluorescence staining and flow cytometry (NovoCyte, Agilent Technologies, US).

Background: "Obesity paradox" occurs in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients when body mass index (BMI) is applied to define obesity. We examined the association of visceral fat area (VFA) as an obesity measurement with arterial stiffness in seven ideal cardiovascular health metrics (ICVHMs).
Methods: A total of 29 048 patients were included in the analysis from June 2017 to April 2021 in 10 sites of National Metabolic Management Centers.

Objective: This study investigated the association of economic status with metabolic index control in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.
Methods: In total, 37 454 T2DM patients from 10 National Metabolic Management Centers in China were recruited and categorized into two groups: a high-gross domestic product (GDP) group (n = 23 993) and a low-GDP group (n = 13 461). Sociodemographic characteristics, medical histories, and lifestyle factors were recorded.

Mechanical thrombectomy is the gold standard in treating acute ischemic stroke complicated by large vessel occlusion. However, there are limited studies on repeated mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke. In this case, we report a 68-year-old male with atrial fibrillation who developed sudden left limb weakness and motor aphasia for 6 hours, and his National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score was 10.

Background: With the decreasing age of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) onset, the incidence of diabetic complications is gradually increasing. We evaluated the independent effect of age at diabetes onset on diabetic retinopathy (DR) development.
Methods: A total of 7472 patients with T2DM were enrolled in the National Metabolic Management Center from September 2017 to May 2022.

Aims/introduction: To investigate the impact of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) on atherosclerosis in type 2 diabetes patients with normal bodyweight (OB[-]) in the Chinese population, and to further assess the sex-age differences between them.
Materials And Methods: A total of 8,839 type 2 diabetes patients from two of the National Metabolic Management Centers in China were included in this study. Participants were classified into four groups by visceral fat area (VFA; cm ) and body mass index (BMI; kg/m ): VFA < 100 and BMI < 23.

Background: Little is known about the gender characteristics and the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) impact on psychiatric department outpatients in general hospitals in China.
Methods: We retrospectively collected 225,947 outpatient clinic records before and during COVID-19 pandemic from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2020 in the psychiatric clinic of 3 general hospitals, gender composition of patients was analyzed in different five age groups and nine diagnostic categories at three levels: total patient visits, number of patients and number of first-visit patients.
Results: The total male-to-female ratio of psychiatric outpatient records in 3 general hospitals from 2019 to 2020 was 1:1.

Objective: This study aimed to develop effective artificial intelligence (AI) diagnostic models based on CT images of pulmonary nodules only, on descriptional and quantitative clinical or image features, or on a combination of both to differentiate benign and malignant ground-glass nodules (GGNs) to assist in the determination of surgical intervention.
Methods: Our study included a total of 867 nodules (benign nodules: 112; malignant nodules: 755) with postoperative pathological diagnoses from two centers. For the diagnostic models to discriminate between benign and malignant GGNs, we adopted three different artificial intelligence (AI) approaches: a) an image-based deep learning approach to build a deep neural network (DNN); b) a clinical feature-based machine learning approach based on the clinical and image features of nodules; c) a fusion diagnostic model integrating the original images and the clinical and image features.

Background: To investigate the arterial stiffness (AS) risk within urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (UACR) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) categories and the joint effect between kidney disease parameters and metabolic goal achievement on AS risk in adult people with type 2 diabetes (T2D).
Methods: A total of 27 439 Chinese participants with T2D from 10 National Metabolic Management Centers (MMC) were categorized into four albuminuria/decreased eGFR groups. The criteria for decreased eGFR and AS were eGFR <90 ml/min/1.

Background: To investigate the different efficacies of glycemic control between basal and premixed insulin in participants with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) when non-insulin medications fail to reach treatment targets.
Methods: This was a prospective, large-scale, real-world study at 10 diabetes centers in China. Between June 2017 and June 2021, we enrolled 1104 T2DM participants initiated with either once-daily basal insulin or twice-daily premixed insulin when the glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) control target was not met after at least two non-insulin agents were administered.
