The presence of microvascular invasion (MVI) significantly worsens the surgical outcome of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The purpose of this research was to investigate the survival benefit of adjuvant transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) in patients with MVI after hepatectomy. A retrospective analysis was conducted on 1372 HCC patients who underwent curative liver resection in four medical institutions.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a prevalent type of gastrointestinal cancer, and its poor prognosis is mainly attributed to the occurrence of invasion and metastasis. CYP1B1-AS1, as non-coding RNA, plays an important role in tumorigenesis and progression. However, the mechanism by which CYP1B1-AS1 acts in CRC is not yet understood.

Cisplatin is a common anticancer drug able to kill tumor cells, but it causes adverse reactions in the kidney, digestive tract, and other systems. The antitumor effects of cisplatin are mainly due to its ability to bind to the DNA in tumor cells to prevent replication, thereby reducing RNA and protein syntheses, leading to cell damage and death. Cisplatin has a wide range of applications; it can be used to treat cervical, thyroid, ovarian, and other cancers.

Cognitive impairment is a multifactorial and multi-step pathological process that places a heavy burden on patients and the society. Neuroinflammation is one of the main factors leading to cognitive impairment. The inflammasomes are multi-protein complexes that respond to various microorganisms and endogenous danger signals, helping to initiate innate protective responses in inflammatory diseases.

Fibrosis could happen in every organ, leading to organic malfunction and even organ failure, which poses a serious threat to global health. Early treatment of fibrosis has been reported to be the turning point, therefore, exploring potential correlates in the pathogenesis of fibrosis and how to reverse fibrosis has become a pressing issue. As a mechanism-sensitive cationic calcium channel, turns on in response to changes in the lipid bilayer of the plasma membrane.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is considered a valuable asset in China's medical tradition. YPF is a classic prescription that has been derived from the "Jiu Yuan Fang" formula and consists of three herbs: Huangqi (Astragalus membranaceus Bunge), Baizhu (Atractylodes rubra Dekker), and Fangfeng (Saposhnikovia divaricata (Turcz.) Schischk).

Diet is a critical regulator for physiological metabolism and tissue homeostasis, with a close relation to health and disease. As an important organ for digestion and absorption, the intestine comes into direct contact with many dietary components. The rapid renewal of its mucosal epithelium depends on the continuous proliferation and differentiation of intestinal stem cells (ISCs).

Background: Perioperative acute kidney injury (AKI) is common in surgical patients and is associated with high morbidity and mortality. There are currently few options for AKI prevention and treatment. Due to its complex pathophysiology, there is no efficient medication therapy to stop the onset of the injury or repair the damage already done.

Background And Objective: Sedentary behavior is of increasing concern in older patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) due to its potential adverse effects on cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and motor function. While regular exercise has been shown to improve the health of individuals with T2DM, the most effective exercise program for elderly sedentary patients with T2DM remains unclear. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the impact of high-intensity interval training (HIIT), moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT), and guideline-based physical activity programs on the cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and motor function of this specific population.

Kawasaki disease (KD) and Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) are the two most predominant types of childhood vasculitis. In childhood vasculitis, factors such as lack of sensitive diagnostic indicators and adverse effects of drug therapy may cause multiorgan system involvement and complications and even death. Many studies suggest that long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in the mechanism of vasculitis development in children and can be used to diagnose or predict prognosis by lncRNAs.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a lethal disease with limited management strategies and poor prognosis. Metabolism alternations have been frequently unveiled in HCC, including glutamine metabolic reprogramming. The components of glutamine metabolism, such as glutamine synthetase, glutamate dehydrogenase, glutaminase, metabolites, and metabolite transporters, are validated to be potential biomarkers of HCC.

Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative disease of joints, which can appear in almost any joint of the body. Therefore, the widespread occurrence of this disease has a huge impact on the lives of patients around the world. As an important part of metabolism, lipid metabolism is closely related to the occurrence and development of osteoarthritis.

A circular RNA (circRNA) is a non-coding RNA (ncRNA) derived from reverse splicing from pre-mRNA and is characterized by the absence of a cap structure at the 5' end and a poly-adenylated tail at the 3' end. Owing to the development of RNA sequencing and bioinformatics approaches in recent years, the important clinical value of circRNAs has been increasingly revealed. Circ_0067934 is an RNA molecule of 170 nucleotides located on chromosome 3q26.

Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is a multifactorial disease characterized by abnormal retinal vascular growth in premature infants, which is one of the leading causes of childhood blindness. Lactic acid metabolism may play an imperative role in the development of ROP, but there are still few relevant studies. Our team use a dataset GSE158799 contained 284 genes in 3 P17_OIR mice and 3 P30_OIR mice to identify 41 potentially differentially expressed lactate metabolism-related genes (LMRGs) related to ROP.

Obesity is characterized by chronic low-grade inflammatory responses in the adipose tissue, accompanied by pronounced insulin resistance and metabolic anomalies. It affects almost all body organs and eventually leads to diseases such as fatty liver disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and atherosclerosis. Recently, T cells have emerged as interesting therapeutic targets because the dysfunction of T cells and their cytokines in the adipose tissue is implicated in obesity-induced inflammation and their complicated onset.

Although the "multiple hits" theory is a widely accepted pathogenesis in IgA nephropathy (IgAN), increasing evidence suggests that the mononuclear/macrophage system plays important roles in the progression of IgAN; however, the exact mechanism is unclear. In the present study, we explored 1,067 patients in 15 studies and found that the number of macrophages per glomerulus was positively related with the degree of hematuria, and the macrophages in the glomeruli were mainly related to mesangial proliferation (M) in renal biopsy. In the tubulointerstitium, macrophages were significantly paralleled to tubulointerstitial α-SMA and NF-kB expression, tubulointerstitial lesion, tubule atrophy/interstitial fibrosis (T), and segmental glomerulosclerosis (S).

Recently, more and more evidence shows that lipid metabolism disorder has been observed in tumor, which impacts tumor cell proliferation, survival, invasion, metastasis, and response to the tumor microenvironment (TME) and tumor treatment. However, hitherto there has not been sufficient research to demonstrate the role of lipid metabolism in pancreatic cancer. This study contrives to get an insight into the relationship between the characteristics of lipid metabolism and pancreatic cancer.

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most common types of malignant tumors as well as the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the world. The application of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) has dramatically improved the prognosis of NSCLC patients who harbor EGFR mutations. However, despite an excellent initial response, NSCLC inevitably becomes resistant to EGFR-TKIs, leading to irreversible disease progression.
