Influence of humanistic care on negative emotions, nursing quality, and patient satisfaction in outpatient gynecological surgery.

Objective: To explore the impact of humanistic care on negative emotions, nursing quality and patient satisfaction among women undergoing outpatient gynecological surgery.

Methods: This retrospective study involved 108 patients who underwent outpatient gynecological surgery at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between August 2022 and August 2023. The patients were divided into two groups: 51 patients received routine care (control group) and 57 received humanistic care (experimental group).

Niemann Pick disease B (NPB) often presents with hepatosplenomegaly and lung pathological changes, but it usually does not present with central nervous system symptoms. This report presents the unique case of a 21-year-old woman with a 10-year history of hard skin and hepatosplenomegaly. Genetic sequencing revealed NPB and also suggested Segawa syndrome.

Protective effect of sevoflurane on lung function of elderly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty.

Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common respiratory disorder that affects the elderly population and increases the risk of postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) after major surgeries. Sevoflurane is a volatile anesthetic that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and attenuate lung injury in animal models.

Aim: To evaluate the protective effect of sevoflurane on the lung function of elderly COPD patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA).

Isolated cerebral mucormycosis that looks like stroke and brain abscess: A case report and review of the literature.

Background: Cerebral mucormycosis is an infectious disease of the brain caused by fungi of the order Mucorales. These infections are rarely encountered in clinical practice and are often misdiagnosed as cerebral infarction or brain abscess. Increased mortality due to cerebral mucormycosis is closely related to delayed diagnosis and treatment, both of which present unique challenges for clinicians.

Schisandrin B Attenuates Diabetic Cardiomyopathy by Targeting MyD88 and Inhibiting MyD88-Dependent Inflammation.

Diabetes manifests as chronic inflammation and leads to the development diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Targeting key proteins in inflammatory signaling may provide new therapy for DCM. In this study, the authors explore the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of Schisandrin B (Sch B), a natural compound with anti-inflammatory activity against DCM.

Chinese Herbal Medicine for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Trials.

Objective: To provide evidence on the efficacy and safety of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) as interventions for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Methods: Seven electronic databases, including the Cochrane Library, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP), Chinese Biomedical Literature Service System (SinoMed), Wanfang, Embase, and PubMed, were comprehensively searched, from their inception to August 16, 2020, for all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that focused on CHM used alone or in combination with conventional medicine for SLE. Outcomes were SLE activity index (SLEDAI), traditional Chinese medicine symptom/syndrome score (TCMSS), dosage of glucocorticoids, main serological testing, and incidence of adverse events.

Immunotherapies application in active stage of systemic lupus erythematosus in pregnancy: A case report and review of literature.

Background: Pregnancy in the setting of systemic lupus erythematosus can worsen the condition from the stable to active stage, with quality of life and fertility desire being particular concerns. Pregnancy in the active stage of systemic lupus erythematosus (ASLE), although rare and complicated to manage, can be treated favorably with immunotherapies ifs used properly. Here we report such a success case.

[Analysis of the related factors of fever of unknown causes before operation of intertrochanteric fracture in the elderly].

Objective: To explore the related factors of fever of unknown causes before operation of intertrochanteric fracture of femur in the elderly.

Methods: From August 2015 to August 2018, 156 cases of intertrochanteric fracture of femur were treated by intramedullary nail fixation. According to the preoperative measurement, whether there was fever was divided into fever group and non fever group.

Surface measurement, intracardiac electrocardiogram and tracheal bifurcation techniques for locating the catheter tips of totally implantable venous access port.

Background: The purpose of our study is to compare the reliability and consistency of three commonly used techniques, which are surface measurement, intracardiac electrocardiogram (IECG) and tracheal bifurcation methods in measuring the tip location of totally implantable venous access port (TIVAP) in the same patient.

Methods: The thirty-five patients scheduled for implantation of TIVAP were included and right subclavian vein was selected for venous access. We used surface measurement method (Group L) to estimate the length and position of catheter before catheterization, and then we used IECG method (Group E) to confirm the position of catheter during catheterization and after catheterization used tracheal bifurcation method by CT (Group T) for measurement.

[Value of early enteral nutrition in patients with severe heart failure undergoing mechanical ventilation].

Objective: To observe the effect of early enteral nutrition (EEN) on nutritional indicators and clinical outcomes in patients with severe heart failure undergoing mechanical ventilation.

Methods: Thirty-four patients with severe heart failure (grade III-IV of cardiac function) and pulmonary infections undergoing mechanical ventilation admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) of Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2017 to April 2018 were enrolled. They were randomly divided into EEN group and delayed enteral nutrition (DEN) group.

Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) is a global health problem. Clinically, many patients have baseline alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels above 20 times the upper limit of normal (ULN), but there are few reports about these patients. The prospective randomized placebo-controlled clinical study was designed to investigate the effect of WSP, a Chinese herbal formula, on telbivudine- (LDT-) treated HBeAg-positive CHB patients with high baseline ALT levels (20-30 times the ULN) and kidney-yang deficiency syndrome.

[Effect of modified tianxiong powder in treating oligospermia and asthenospermia].

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of modified Tianxiong Powder (MTP) in treating oligospermia and asthenospermia.

Methods: Eighty patients were equally randomized into two groups, the treated group administered with MTP, and the controlled group administered with Wuzi Yanzong Pill (WYP), all for 3 months. The comprehensive efficacy was observed; and parameters of patients' semen and figure of sperm were analyzed before and after treatment.
