Foot ulcers are amongst the most prevalent complications of diabetes, known for their delayed healing process. Recent research indicates that the transcription factor forkhead box M1 (FOXM1) plays a role in promoting diabetic ulcer repair. However, the precise mechanisms underlying FOXM1 functions in this context remain unclear.

G protein-coupled estrogen receptor 1 (GPER1) plays a crucial role in the progression of breast cancer and has emerged as a promising therapeutic target. However, while missense mutations in GPER1 have been detected in breast invasive carcinoma (BIC) samples, the resulting molecular, cellular and pharmacological changes remain unclear. The present study categorized BIC samples from The Cancer Genome Atlas database based on mutation information available in the cBioPortal database.

Background: Adverse effects during chemotherapy severely impact the daily diet of breast cancer (BC) patients. Engaging in dietary self-management is crucial for healthy lifestyle and recovery. This study aims to create the Dietary Self-management Behavior Questionnaire (DSMBQ) and preliminarily validate its reliability, validity, and discriminative ability for BC patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Among the diabetes-related complications, diabetic nephropathy is the major complication and it leads to end-stage renal failure. In the current investigation, we examined the protection of brucine, an alkaloid extracted from the seeds of Strychnos nux vomica plant widely used in traditional Chinese and Indian medicines against diabetic-induced nephropathy. Male Wistar rats were divided into four groups: control, diabetic rats, diabetic-induced + 40 mg/kg brucine-treated rats, and diabetic-induced + 25 mg/kg metformin-treated rats.

Objective: The overlap of affective disturbance and psychosis considerably makes it complex to determine the etiology of bipolar disorder (BD) and develop targeted interventions. The present study aimed to determine the white matter microstructural alterations that distinguish between BD with psychosis (BDP) and BD with no psychosis (BDNP) to identify patients who may specifically benefit from appropriately effective treatments.
Methods: Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance images were acquired from 38 participants with BDP, 52 participants with BDNP and 70 healthy controls (HCs).

Background: Hetrombopag is a novel thrombopoietin receptor agonist that has shown an additive effect in stimulating platelet production when combined with recombinant human thrombopoietin (rhTPO). However, it remains unclear whether this combination can promote hematopoietic reconstruction after autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT).
Purpose: To compare the effect of rhTPO plus thrombopoietin receptor agonists (TPO-RA) versus rhTPO alone on hematopoietic recovery, adverse events, postoperative complications, and cost-effectiveness in patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) undergoing ASCT.

Glioma is recognized as one of the most lethal and aggressive brain tumors. Although the standard-of-care treatment for glioblastoma (GBM) involves maximal surgical resection and temozolomide (TMZ) chemotherapy, the discovery of novel anti-tumor agents from nature sources is an effective strategy for glioma treatment. In this study, we conducted a screening process to identify the bisindole alkaloid melodinine J (MDJ) from Melodinus tenuicaudatus.

Objectives: Systemic sclerosis (SSc), a chronic autoimmune disorder, characterised by local inflammation and progressive fibrosis. Tumour necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) has been established as a key mediator in fibrotic processes across multiple organs, primarily through binding to its receptor, fibroblast growth factor-inducible 14 (Fn14). However, the precise role of the TWEAK/Fn14 signalling in SSc pathogenesis remains unclear.

Tissue engineering and in vitro modeling of the airways and lungs in the respiratory system are of substantial research and clinical importance. In vitro airway and lung models aim to improve treatment options for airway and lung repair and advance respiratory pathophysiological research. The construction of biomimetic native airways and lungs with tissue-specific biological, mechanical, and configurable features remains challenging.

Background: Venous thromboembolic events (VTEs) are the second-leading cause of death in cancer patients, with an incidence of 5%-17% in lymphoma patients, particularly higher in those with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). Existing risk assessment models (RAMs) like the Khorana and ThroLy scores have limitations and are inadequately validated for NHL patients. Coagulation markers such as D-dimer, thrombin-antithrombin complex (TAT), and thrombomodulin (TM) show a potential predictive value for cancer-associated VTE but lack extensive research in NHL.

Background: Ustekinumab is a fully human interleukin-12/23 (p40) inhibitor used to treat immune-mediated diseases. However, the limitations of clinical trials and the expanding target population necessitate an update on the ustekinumab-associated adverse events (AEs). We conducted signal mining for ustekinumab-related AEs using the United States Food and Drug Administration Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS).

Some EOC patients experience relapse after standard primary debulking surgery (PDS) and adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT). Identifying molecular residual disease (MRD) by circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) detection can timely signal the potential for relapse.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent arrhythmia in clinical practice, and obesity serves as a significant risk factor for its development. The underlying mechanisms of obesity-related AF remain intricate and have yet to be fully elucidated. We have identified FPR2 as a potential hub gene involved in obesity-related AF through comprehensive analysis of four transcriptome datasets from AF patients and one transcriptome dataset from obese individuals, and its expression is up-regulated in both AF and obese individuals.

Osteonecrosis of femoral head (ONFH) is characterized not only by ischemic bone tissue necrosis but also by cartilage degeneration, which plays an essential role in the pathogenesis of ONFH. The molecular communication between tissues contributes to disease progression, however the communication between cartilage and subchondral bone in the progression of ONFH remains unclear. In this study, we integrated transcriptomic data from ONFH cartilage and subchondral bone, exploring common differentially expressed genes (DEGs), pathway and function enrichment analyses, the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network, and hub genes to comprehensively study molecular integration.

Objective: Advancing the understanding of the pathophysiology of eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) and other eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases (EGIDs) has spurred research into targeted biological therapies, while the conclusive therapeutic efficacy of biologics remains uncertain. In this review, we conducted a meta-analysis of all RCTS of biologics in the treatment of EoE to evaluate their efficacy and safety and discussed their treatment of non-EoE EGIDs.
Methods: We searched the PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science databases.

Pathological vascular remodeling (VR) is characterized by structural and functional alterations in the vascular wall resulting from injury, which significantly contribute to the development of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). The vascular wall consists primarily of endothelial cells (ECs), vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), and adventitial fibroblasts (AFs), whose interactions are crucial for both the formation of the vascular system and the maintenance of mature blood vessels. Disruptions in the communication between these cell types have been implicated in the progression of VR.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) using oxygen-dependent type II photosensitizers is frequently limited by the hypoxic microenvironment of solid tumors. Type I photosensitizers show oxygen-independent reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation upon light irradiation but still face the challenges of aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) and low efficiency to produce ROS. Herein, we first prepare an efficient type I photosensitizer from a perylene derivative via intramolecular donor-acceptor binding and sulfur substitution, which significantly enhance intersystem crossing between singlet and triplet states and electron transfer capability.
