Background: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a significant public health concern affecting an increasing number of young and middle-aged adults. Effective self-management is essential to promote the recovery and quality of life of patients with CHD after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and is closely related to health literacy. However, little is known about the underlying mechanisms of this association.

Ethanol can directly or indirectly lead to cognitive and mental disorders. The long-term intake of alcohol can directly affect the distribution of gut microbiota. Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) is a natural bacterium isolated from healthy human intestines that has the function of preventing cytokine-induced cell apoptosis and protecting cell barriers.

Background: The neoantigen vaccine has remarkable potential in treating advanced cancer due to its tumor specificity and ability to bypass central tolerance mechanisms. However, numerous neoantigens show poor immunogenicity, and the immune inhibitory factors of present in both tumors and tumor-draining lymph nodes impair the efficacy of cancer neoantigen vaccine. Eliminating immunosuppressive cells will improve the priming and expansion of anti-tumor immune cells induced by the vaccine.

Background: Superficial circumflex iliac vein (SCIV) and venae comitantes were qualified for traditional superficial circumflex iliac artery perforator (SCIAP) flaps. Optimal approaches for multipaddle and chimeric SCIAP flaps remain elusive. The purpose of this study is to investigate validities of SCIV-only and VCs-only conduits for such extended SCIAP flaps.

Background: The radiation sensitivity of tumor cells is a critical determinant of their therapeutic response to radiotherapy. Histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6), beyond its known role in modulating tubulin acetylation and influencing cell motility, is also involved in the DNA damage response, potentially enhancing tumor cell radiosensitivity. Targeted HDAC6 inhibitors have shown substantial promise in preclinical studies aimed at increasing radiosensitivity and inhibiting cellular migration.

The growing microbial resistance to traditional medicines necessitates in-depth analysis of medicine-microbe interactions (MMIs) to develop new therapeutic strategies. Widely used artificial intelligence models are limited by sparse observational data and prevalent noise, leading to over-reliance on specific data for feature extraction and reduced generalization ability. To address these limitations, we integrate Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (KANs), independent subspaces, and collaborative decoding techniques into the masked graph autoencoder (Mask GAE) framework, creating an innovative MMI prediction model with enhanced accuracy, generalization, and interpretability.

To analyze the clinical efficacy and its influencing factors of ustekinumab (UST) in the treatment of patients with Crohn's disease (CD). From January 2021 to January 2024, CD patients who received UST treatment were retrospectively collected from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University. Harvey-Bradshaw index were applied to assess clinical activity of CD patients, C-reactive protein was used to evaluate biochemical remission rate, and simplified Crohn's disease endoscopy score was used to evaluate the degree of intestinal inflammation.

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a substantial health concern worldwide, and its incidence is progressively escalating. Conventional pharmacological interventions frequently entail undesirable side effects, and while probiotics offer benefits, they are hindered by constraints such as diminished stability and effectiveness within the gastrointestinal milieu. Given these complications, the advent of bioengineered probiotics is a promising alternative for DM management.

FLASH radiotherapy (FLASH-RT) is a new modality of radiotherapy that delivers doses with ultra-high dose rates. The FLASH effect was defined as the ability of FLASH-RT to suppress tumor growth while sparing normal tissues. Although the FLASH effect has been proven to be valid in various models by different modalities of irradiation and clinical trials of FLASH-RT have achieved promising initial success, the exact underlying mechanism is still unclear.

Study Question: What is the significance of visceral adipose tissue (VAT) in the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and its impact on the regulation of metabolic disorders in women with PCOS?
Summary Answer: We revealed a potentially causal relationship between increased genetically predicted VAT and PCOS-related traits, and found that VAT exhibited impaired glucose metabolism and mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) in women with PCOS.
What Is Known Already: PCOS is a common reproductive endocrine disorder accompanied by many metabolic abnormalities. Adipose tissue is a metabolically active endocrine organ that regulates multiple physiological processes, and VAT has a much stronger association with metabolism than subcutaneous adipose tissue does.

Background: Low peak expiratory flow (PEF) rate is common in patients with stroke. Studies on changes in PEF rates in patients with stroke often have small sample sizes, limiting the generalizability of their findings.
Aim: This study aimed to compare the PEF rates between patients who were post-stroke with or without pneumonia and age- and sex-matched healthy controls and explore the PEF-pneumonia association among stroke survivors.

To analyze the clinical efficacy and its influencing factors of vedolizumab (VDZ) in the treatment of ulcerative colitis (UC). The patients with moderately-to-severely active UC, who underwent VDZ treatment at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from November 2020 to November 2023 were retrospectively included. Based on whether 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) was used in combination with VDZ treatment, the patients were divided into combination group (received combination therapy of VDZ and 5-ASA) and monotherapy group (received monotherapy of VDZ).

Objective: This study aims to explores the physiological and psychological mechanisms of exercise-induced hypoalgesia (EIH) by combining the behavioral results with neuroimaging data on changes oxy-hemoglobin (HbO) in prefrontal cortex (PFC).
Methods: A total of 97 healthy participants were recruited and randomly divided into three groups: a single dance movement therapy (DMT) group, a double DMT group, and control group. Evaluation indicators included the pressure pain threshold (PPT) test, the color-word stroop task (CWST) for wearing functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), and the self-assessment manikin (SAM).
