Introduction: Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is effective in treating acute kidney injury (AKI), but it requires anticoagulants. The study was conducted to compare the anticoagulant effect of low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH) sodium and sodium citrate on AKI patients treated by CRRT.

Methods: The medical records of 150 severe AKI patients treated by CRRT in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College (China, Hainan) from January 2020 to January 2023 were analyzed retrospectively.

Here, we verified that BM-MSCs-derived exosomes delivered FTO to promote cancer aggressiveness, stem cell properties and Cytosine arabinoside (Ara-C)-chemoresistance in AML cells, and the underlying mechanisms were also uncovered.

Background: We aimed to assess the predictive performance of C-reactive protein (hsCRP), procalcitonin (PCT), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) at different times points of bloodstream infections (BSI) management.

Methods: The cases were collected from January 2020 to June 2021 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University (n=185). We collected patients' records of hsCRP, PCT, and IL-6 serum levels and calculated the clearance of these biomarkers on day 1, day 3, and day 5 (hsCRP-1, hsCRP-3, hsCRP-5, so do PCT, and IL-6).

Methods: The records of patients with internal fixation of long tubular bone fracture who underwent the removal of the internal fixation device after fracture healing in The Second Affiliated Hospital of Hainan Medical College from May 2020 to December 2021 were reviewed. According to the different operation methods of taking out the internal fixation device, patients were divided into minimally invasive group (n=40) and traditional group (n=45).

Here, the mechanism of action of the lncRNA terminal differentiation-induced non-coding RNA (TINCR), miR-193b-3p, and RAR-related orphan receptor A (RORA) mRNA was analyzed in an angiotensin (Ang) II-induced H9C2 cardiomyocyte hypertrophy model treated with QYDP.

Methods: Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) was used to analyze the gene expression changes of lncRNA, miRNA, and mRNA in H9C2 induced by QYDP on Ang II.

Since DNA methylation (DNAm) is associated with the carcinogenesis of various cancers, this study aimed to explore potential DNAm prognostic signatures of lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). First, transcriptomic and methylation profiles of LUSC were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas database (TCGA). DNAm-related genes were screened by integrating DNAm and transcriptome profiles via MethylMix package.

Critical illness and bone metabolism: where are we now and what is next?

Critical illness refers to the clinical signs of severe, variable and life-threatening critical conditions, often accompanied by insufficiency or failure of one or more organs. Bone health of critically ill patients is severely affected during and after ICU admission. Therefore, clinical work should focus on ICU-related bone loss, and early development and implementation of related prevention and treatment strategies: optimized and personalized nutritional support (high-quality protein, trace elements and intestinal prebiotics) and appropriate physiotherapy and muscle training should be implemented as early as possible after ICU admission and discharge.

[Status of HVPG clinical application in China in 2021].

The investigation and research on the application status of Hepatic Venous Pressure Gradient (HVPG) is very important to understand the real situation and future development of this technology in China. This study comprehensively investigated the basic situation of HVPG technology in China, including hospital distribution, hospital level, annual number of cases, catheters used, average cost, indications and existing problems. According to the survey, there were 70 hospitals in China carrying out HVPG technology in 2021, distributed in 28 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central Government).
