Two major posttranscriptional mechanisms-alternative splicing (AS) and alternative polyadenylation (APA)-have attracted much attention in cancer research. Nevertheless, their roles in clear cell renal carcinoma (ccRCC) are still ill defined. Herein, this study was conducted to uncover the implications of AS and APA events in ccRCC progression.

Background: Extrathyroidal extension (ETE) is a crucial factor affecting the prognosis of thyroid cancer. Two-dimensional ultrasound is highly sensitive to ETE, but the sensitivity and specificity for severe ETE are unideal, so it does not improve the prognosis.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study evaluated patients within three years of subcapsular thyroid cancer diagnosis with fine-needle aspiration (FNA).

C-reactive proteins (CRPs; an acute-phase protein) in patients with initial acute cerebral infarction neurological rehabilitation prediction have a significant correlation. In this work, a simple and sensitive anodic-stripping voltammetric (ASV) immunosensing system was innovatively designed for the quantitative screening of target CRPs using biomimetic-mineralized bifunctional antibody-Cu(PO) nanoflowers as molecular tags. In this system, a monoclonal anti-CRP antibody-anchored microtiter plate was utilized to specifically capture target CRPs from the sample.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) is the most common type of kidney cancer and has strong immunogenicity. A systematically investigation of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in ccRCC could contribute to help clinicians develop personalized treatment and facilitate clinical decision-making. In this study, we analyzed the immune-related subtype of ccRCC on the basis of immune-related gene expression data in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA, = 512) and E-MTAB-1980 ( = 101) dataset, respectively.

The death associated protein kinases (DAPKs) are a family of calcium dependent serine/threonine kinases initially identified in the regulation of apoptosis. Previous studies showed that DAPK family members, including DAPK1, DAPK2 and DAPK3 play a crucial regulatory role in malignant tumor development, in terms of cell apoptosis, proliferation, invasion and metastasis. Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that non-coding RNAs, including microRNA (miRNA), long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and circRNA, are involved in the regulation of gene expression and tumorigenesis.

Herein a versatile colorimetric biosensing platform was designed for sensitive, specific, and rapid screening of cancer-derived exosomes (HepG2 cell-derived) by introducing horseradish peroxidase -encapsulated DNA nanoflowers (HRP-DF) as the biorecognition elements and signal-generation tags. HRP was concurrently associated with the growing ultralong-chain DNA and the magnesium pyrophosphate crystals (MgPPi) during the rolling circle amplification (RCA), thereby ultimately leading to the direct fixation of HRP in DFs. For demonstration, a linear DNA circular molecule encoding the complementary sequence of CD63 aptamer (a nucleic acid sequence that can highly bind to exosomes) was used as a starting amplification template to obtain HRP-DF with the high biorecognition ability of exosomes.

Herein, we have reported a new one-step potentiometric immunoassay for the sensitive and specific detection of human plasma cardiac troponin I (cTnI), a biomarker of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases. Initially, the cTnI biomolecules were immobilized on the surface of a gold nanoparticle-functionalized screen-printed graphite electrode (SPGE). Thereafter, rabbit polyclonal antibodies to cTnI were covalently conjugated to the bis-MPA-COOH dendrimers through typical carbodiimide coupling.

A paper-based visual fluorescence immunoassay is presented for the detection of matrix metalloproteinase-7 (MMP7) that is related to renal cancer. The method is based on the distance-dependent fluorescence quenching of CdTe quantum dots (QDs) on a nitrocellulose membrane by Ag following a sandwich-type immunoreaction on microtiter wells using silver nanoparticle (AgNP)-labeled secondary antibody- and primary antibody-coated microtiter wells. The silver nanoparticles captured in the well are dissolved with HNO, while the quenching effect of QDs is based on silver ion-exchange reaction under 365-nm excitation light irradiation.
