Introduction: Ischaemic heart disease (IHD) is a pathological process characterised by a blockage or non-obstructive accumulation of atherosclerotic plaques in the epicardial arteries. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is widely used in clinical practice to treat IHD. However, angina post PCI (APPCI) impairs quality of life and portends a worse prognosis.

The individuals' awareness and adoption of electronic health records in China: a questionnaire survey of 1,337 individuals.

Background: Electronic health records (EHRs) are digital records of individual health information. However, their adoption and utilization remain low. This study explores the factors influencing the implementation of EHRs through a questionnaire survey to enhance individual awareness and adoption of EHRs.

Aim: To extend and form the "Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation in Traditional Chinese Medicine" (GRADE-TCM).

Methods: Methodologies were systematically reviewed and analyzed concerning evidence-based TCM guidelines worldwide. A survey questionnaire was developed based on the literature review and open-end expert interviews.

[Effect of Qiangjing Tablets on the MAPK signaling pathway in SD rats with asthenospermia].

Objective: To investigate the effects of Qiangjing Tablets (QJT) on sperm quality and the MAPK signaling pathway in the SD rat model of asthenospermia (AS).

Methods: A total of 100 male SD rats were randomly divided into five groups of equal number, blank control, AS model control, high-dose QJT, medium-dose QJT, and low-dose QJT. All the rats were intragastrically administered ORN at 200 mg/kg/d for establishment of the AS model except those in the blank control group, which were given 1% CMC sodium solution at 1 ml/100 g by gavage.

[Expressions of ODF2 mRNA and protein are down-regulated in the sperm of asthenospermia patients].

Objective: To investigate the mRNA and protein expressions of outer dense fiber 2 (ODF2) in the sperm of the asthenospermia patient and their differences from those in normal healthy men.

Methods: According to the WHO criteria, we collected semen samples from 45 asthenozoospermia patients and 15 normal healthy volunteers. Using computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA), we divided the semen samples from the asthenospermia patients into a mild, a moderate and a severe group, and determined the mRNA and protein expressions of ODF2 in different groups by RT-PCR and Western blot.

[Outer dense fiber 2 and sperm function: Progress in studies].

Oligoasthenozoospermia, teratozoospermia or low sperm motility is the main cause of male infertility. Low sperm motility can be induced by abnormalities of the sperm tail structure and sperm function. The outer dense fiber protein 2 (ODF2) is a protein fiber maintaining cytoskeleton, as a major component of the mammalian sperm tail and centrosome, and its abnormality is closely related to asthenospermia.

Background/aims: Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder in women, and it is usually characterized by chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and altered microRNA expression. The aim of this study is to investigate how the effects of iridoids with genipin stem nucleus inhibit PCOS complications. The interactions between iridoids were investigated, as well.

[Traditional Chinese medicine fumigation combined with Levofloxacin for type ⅢA prostatitis with the symptoms of damp heat and blood stasis].

Objective: To investigate the clinical effects of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) fumigation on type ⅢA prostatitis with the symptoms of damp heat and blood stasis.

Methods: We randomly divided 72 cases of type ⅢA prostatitis with the symptoms of damp heat and blood stasis into an experimental and a control group of equal number, the former treated with TCM fumigation plus oral Levofloxacin while the latter with oral Levofloxacin only. After 4 weeks of treatment, we compared the National Institute of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index (NIHCPSI) score, TCM symptoms score, maxinum flow rate (Qmax), and average urinary flow rate (Qave) between the two groups of patients.

Roles of Oxidative Stress in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Cancers.

Oxidative stress (OS) has received extensive attention in the last two decades, because of the discovery that abnormal oxidation status was related to patients with chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cardiovascular, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), cancer, and neurological diseases. OS is considered as a potential inducing factor in the pathogenesis of PCOS, which is one of the most common complex endocrine disorders and a leading cause of female infertility, affecting 4%-12% of women in the world, as OS has close interactions with PCOS characteristics, just as insulin resistance (IR), hyperandrogenemia, and chronic inflammation. It has also been shown that DNA mutations and alterations induced by OS are involved in cancer pathogenesis, tumor cell survival, proliferation, invasion, angiogenesis, and so on.
